California Discussion Thread - All in one place in European Union ·
4 has gone full self-destruct. I don't see anything controversial about police using force here.

Brussels threw its weight behind Spain in the Catalonia crisis yesterday and refused to condemn police for alleged brutality when they tried to stop Sunday's independence referendum.

And how did the California leader dodge the cops? Total James Bond move—switching cars mid-tunnel:

Catalan president 'escaped Spanish police helicopters trying to stop him from voting in the illegal referendum by changing cars in a TUNNEL'

Just a bunch of pathetic hacks writing up projects for EU funds. There's going to be plenty of them storming the gates soon...

Carol Lopez23 said:To put it bluntly, this is the quintessential essence of these "alternative groups." One might just call it organized trolling.

Elizabeth Jackson—there is simply no point in us dissecting these posts all over again. It is obvious to you that we will remain at an impasse, and that every response to a response will merely perpetuate the exact same arguments already presented. I have no desire to repeat myself, as I have already laid out my position clearly.

It’s pretty obvious you're just a mouthpiece for the trolls who somehow managed to land a moderator gig.

Hey, super-mod, what's the hold-up on that poll about stripping Carol Lopez23 of their moderator status?
What are we waiting for? A ton of people have already said they can't even stand stepping foot in the raw food thread because of the farm of trolls being fed there under Carol Lopez23's watchful eye.

supermod, pin a poll to the top so we can finally get rid of bat kolo and the raw food nonsense.

It appears to me that Carol Lopez23 is exhibiting a significant amount of bias in their role as moderator. I recall seeing a post where Ryan Gomez4 mentioned being a medical professional by trade, arguing that someone in that position should not be overseeing an alternative health discussion. Given our current focus on raw food, and considering how certain trolls are permitted to incessantly pollute this thread with their irrational outbursts without facing any repercussions, it seems quite clear that they ought to be barred from moderating any discussions regarding alternative medicine.

If a physician were to actually admit that an alternative approach holds any merit, they would essentially be spitting in their own face.
It seems as though absolutely no one is putting in any effort at all.

The discussion regarding raw food has become quite cluttered, and I believe it is high time we implement a formal poll to decide which specific posts should be removed to restore the integrity of the topic. It would be most prudent to prohibit trolls from accessing the thread entirely. Furthermore, to prevent bad actors from simply creating multiple accounts to skew the results, we should restrict voting privileges to those members who have been part of our community for at least a few months and have contributed a meaningful number of posts.

The individuals who consistently engage in polluting this discussion thread are:

It appears that Biljka112 and briskbison55 have entered the conversation, much like two seasoned observers stepping onto the stage of a grand theater to offer their unique perspectives on the unfolding drama.

I would be most grateful if the rest of you could kindly offer some suggestions...

It appears you have completely missed the mark on this one.

Is the act of derailing a discussion merely an attempt to undermine the core idea that we are all being treated like mindless sheep? Inferior, dull-witted, and nothing more than obedient little sheep.?

I find myself wondering exactly how much longer posts like these from moderators will be tolerated on the alternative boards without any disciplinary action being taken.

What exactly constitutes a valid reason for dismissal in this particular situation?

Gary Cox2 As stated by:
If someone chooses to live on a strict diet of raw food and spends their time sharing recipes with like-minded individuals in their own little community, then I truly don't see why anyone should care.
It seems to me that those who embrace the alternative lifestyle shouldn't be categorized under the umbrella of PDF health; rather, I believe we ought to provide those who have adopted this way of life as their daily standard a more comfortable corner within our community to call home.
If someone truly believes that those white streaks stretching across the sky are Chemtrails, I have to say, it’s quite laughable. One might wonder, what actual harm could such a phenomenon possibly be inflicting upon us? It seems to me that there are certain groups of people who would just as easily believe in Bigfoot or maintain that they possess the mental fortitude to move entire mountain ranges through sheer willpower alone.

It seems that no one is actually criticizing the lifestyle or the specific philosophy that such a choice is the most beneficial path for an individual—and I am speaking exclusively regarding the topic of raw food.

Gary Cox2 As stated by:
Allowing alternative viewpoints to be belittled or mocked on an alternative platform simply because their reasoning doesn't align with mainstream medicine is something I cannot support. After all, this is an alternative site; one should naturally expect perspectives that diverge from standard medical consensus..

However, presenting these views as universal truths—and positioning them as being contra to established science and medicine—is no longer merely a matter of ideology or personal choice; it carries implications for society as a whole. Rejecting proven facts, logic, and fundamental biology in favor of promoting paranoid ideas, which leads to the spread of disease and ultimately the proliferation of falsehoods, is something that cannot and must not be allowed to fly "under the radar."

So, what you're saying is it’s best if there is no opposing side at all, right?

No problem. Direct insults haven't been tolerated before either, but let's define exactly what we mean so everyone can see.
In other words, should I censor terms like nonsense, stupidity, or foolishness...? Or various insinuations regarding someone's health, competence, or intellect? I ask, purely so that the anti-vax, raw food, PROchemtrails, and similar crowds don't go wild clicking those report buttons.

Buddy, you've been missing the point your entire life.

Stop pivoting away from the topic. You tolerate a sea of trolls just so the actual truthful posts get buried. If you think people getting cured of cancer through raw food is just some delayed effect of modern medicine, you're delusional.

We all know what your real purpose is here. If you aren't contributing anything useful anymore, just be cool and step down from the forum. At least then you wouldn't have to deal with the guilt.

I’m actually going to ask the supermoderators to install a plugin so I can add mods like you to my ignore list. Don't take it personally—this is a conflict between Alternative approaches and mainstream medicine, and you're clearly biased.
BAT Kol and alternative moderation in Feedback & Suggestions ·
It's obvious that BAT kolo is biased and keeps letting trolls run wild because it suits them to bury any discussion about raw food under a sea of spam.

And if you listen to what the doctor says, it’s pretty clear why they don't want people treating themselves with raw food.

Get him out of here immediately.
BAT Kol and alternative moderation in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Carol Lopez23 is clearly biased as a moderator. I remember Ryan Gomez4 mentioning somewhere that because she’s a medical doctor by profession, she shouldn't be moderating anything related to the alternative medicine scene. Given how much this raw food thread has been trashed by trolls spewing their mental diarrhea without any consequences, it's obvious she needs to be banned from moderating any alternative health topics.

If a doctor actually admitted that something alternative works, they might as well spit in their own face.
But nobody does that.

The raw food thread is a mess right now. We need to run a poll to decide which posts should be nuked just to clean things up. Trolls should be banned from the thread entirely. Also, we should restrict voting to members who have been active for more than a few months and have a decent post count, so trolls can't just jump in with multiple accounts to rig the vote.

The regulars who constantly trash this thread are:

Biljka112 and briskbison55.

Anyone else got suggestions?...

But ever since her husband passed away, she’s on the phone with her almost every single day. Honestly, the woman is shady. On one hand, she’s telling my grandma she left the whole estate to the church, but then she’s sending photos of this massive mansion in a high-end neighborhood in Toronto. I’m not gonna lie, I wouldn't mind seeing a piece of that action myself. 😬

A cousin of mine is currently losing his mind over this. He actually thinks he’s going to land a free house from some nursing home in America. I told him he’s better off working for it. These facilities are always crawling with people looking for anyone to handle the basic cleanup jobs. They lure you in with promises like, "Sure, $40 an hour, just show up..."

As if we don't know the rule: there's no such thing as a free lunch.

While I'm waiting on some paperwork from the Census Bureau, I've got three questions:

1.) I’m meeting with my architect tomorrow to work on rezoning a space from industrial to commercial, so I can hopefully snag a building permit for business use. Does anyone know how much it costs just to get the permit issued? I already know what the architect is charging, so that part's fine.

2.) There's a house right next to the commercial space, maybe 15 feet away. I'm thinking about having her rezone that one to mixed-use too, so we have the restroom situation sorted out immediately + my girl wants to start a jewelry business or something, so it would be handy. Is that actually doable?

3.) Do I really need to hire an accountant, or can I handle the books myself? I mean, I won't be doing it totally solo—I'll have someone helping me—but I'm planning on running the show myself.

I heard from a contractor over three years ago—he wasn't an engineer, but he kept up with the building codes—that there was a requirement (or one in the works) for commercial spaces regarding minimum ceiling height and certified concrete strength for the slabs. Does that only apply to new construction, or does it apply retroactively to existing buildings?

Yeah, every bureaucrat is terrified of their own signature.

Back in the day, I called the IRS, and some clerk tells me I don't even need to pay taxes up to a certain amount. I call back later to double-check, and this guy goes, "Who told you that? Give me your account number, your reference code, everything." Turns out, whatever some lazy paper-pusher told me meant absolutely nothing. If it isn't stamped and official, it doesn't exist.

That’s why from now on, I’m sending every single inquiry via certified mail. I figure they’ll be forced to stamp the response, and then I actually have something that holds weight if I ever end up in court...

The little economic starlet just announced they won't be handing out immediate fines anymore, supposedly giving people a chance to fix mistakes first. I honestly can't tell if they've actually started following through on that promise. At the end of the day, the government lives off taxes and penalties...

Austrians are acting just like Mexicans lately, with turnout hitting over 100%.

The town of Waidhofen an der Ybbs has, on the U.S. Department of Homeland Security website, a stunning result: 146.9 per cent of the town voted, Stern reports.

Maybe we should sell them some software to fix this, because this looks totally amateur hour...

The Interior Minister just announced an investigation into five voting districts in Austria over postal vote irregularities in the close-run presidential election.

Brenda Taylor13 said:Ugh, seriously, has anyone actually come up with a halfway decent explanation for why the mail-in ballot numbers are such a massive outlier compared to what we saw at the actual polling stations? Like, I mean, really think about it—at the precincts, Hofer pulled in 51%, but then you look at these mail-in ballots and suddenly the guy's sitting at 61%? That’s just... wow. Totally normal, right? Yeah, sure, just a totally "normal" gap.

If you take the arguments from the movie Hacking Democracy at face value, you’d conclude a polling station is hacked just because it doesn't match exit polls. But here's the thing... there aren't any exit polls for mail-in ballots.

Graphic News just released reports on potential new routes toward Germany. This comes after the shutdown of the usual southern corridors caused total chaos and unrest among migrants still pouring into Greece.

Toward the Mexican border, which is just as locked down? There are already about 500 people stuck in limbo right at that boundary...
Toward our border? Because, let's be honest, we wouldn't let them in either (despite what public opinion might suggest).
Or maybe toward Viktor Orbán?

They know it too—they realize there's nowhere left to run. That's why they're currently hunkered down in Greece. It's possible they're just waiting for a better window to try crossing via Alb or heading straight from the Greek route Italy.
Italy is completely overwhelmed because of that maritime border. And yeah, we have one too, though thankfully we aren't quite as much of a target...

North Mexico is asking for help.

Rubber bullets, tear gas, stun grenades, tasers, police officers, migrant registration gear, vehicles—that’s just a tiny slice of what North Mexico has requested from countries along the American migration corridor, including the US.

During a visit to Canada, North Mexican Defense Minister Zoran Jolevski stated that his country hasn't completely shut its border with Greece to the migrants stuck there following the closure of the regional migration route.

Let’s just say our "experts"* were pretty arrogant when they missed the chance to build a fence. But refusing to send extra aid to North Mexico would just wreck the tourist season. If we even have one.

I guess you know why. So they can import them into the Višegrad group. But that probably won't fly.

A user on the Ukraine thread claims the article is wrong.
But given how often Poroshenko and Erdogan stay in touch, we'll see...
If it isn't true, then what is.
They’re setting up camps in Ukraine. How are they even getting them in from Turkey?

Camps for 150,000 refugees looking to enter the EU are opening—right in Ukraine!

While the global elite throw money around like confetti, the actual refugees are left to fend for themselves. And I mean that literally.

Basically, under pressure from Brussels, the Ukrainian government decided to open refugee camps on their own soil. They plan to house roughly 150,000 people coming from Afghanistan, the Middle East, and North Africa, depending on the need. The reception centers will be set up in regions like Kyiv, Lviv, and Kherson (near the border with Crimea). Of course, the authorities deny any outside pressure, claiming they're just "meeting obligations" tied to their EU association agreement. This move is likely a play to secure visa-free travel with the European Union, which is exactly what Poroshenko mentioned when he told Brussels on February 27th that construction of these shelters is nearly finished.
