I've been throwing up every few hours, feeling totally drained, just exhausted. Everything hurts...
I'm starting to feel a tiny bit better, so I'm debating if I should actually hit up the doctor or just hang tight. I've basically lived on tea all day.
Is there some kind of stomach flu going around right now?
Man, I went through the exact same thing... vomiting, diarrhea, could barely even crawl out of bed... had a fever too. My whole family got hit by it...
All five of us were down at once...
For the nausea, I took Reglan—it’s a lifesaver and you can find it at any CVS or Walgreens. Not sure if you need a prescription for it or not, maybe check with a pharmacist... but it really helps stop the spinning...
Give it a shot...
But yeah, something is definitely going around... even my boyfriend caught it from my sister... same symptoms...
People are saying it's just a stomach virus...
I felt like a new person after two days, but my folks are still struggling... so I guess everyone handles it differently... 😉
Good luck...🙂
hiddenfox8 said:thanks... honestly, both my guy and I are pretty sure it didn't happen, but yeah, nothing happened because he finished every single time before pulling out, so you know... it wasn't inside me. Plus, it would be totally ironic if I actually ended up pregnant right now.
just grab a test in like 2 or 3 days... maybe try one of those early detection ones,$7.00.(my mom used them for me and my brother—and yeah, I've been in your shoes before too)...use your first urine of the morning!
then just see what happens 🙂
stormymaker24 said:First off, I am certainly not going to tell you to quit taking your medication, though if I were standing in your shoes, that is exactly what I would do. My dear, you cannot simply live so nonchalantly with such significant side effects as if they were nothing at all!
Secondly, switch gynecologists. Do it right now. If you actually possess any regard for your own health, you will hand over that $500 and walk out the door immediately.$200 If you ever find out that everything is actually fine, take heart; because, quite frankly, after what you’ve just endured, you could have easily made a much more serious mess of things. Go get yourself checked out!
That absolute scoundrel of a gynecologist has finally been reported to the Medical Board.
So, I actually went to see him today... and I left my pills behind... I just can't deal with it anymore, it's been so exhausting 👎
I picked up some Evra patches instead, I heard they were 👍 so I'm gonna give them a shot...$43...hopefully they work okay for me...
And obviously I shouldn't be using oral contraceptives... I have blood work done tomorrow—fingers crossed everything comes back normal 🙂
hiddenfox8 said:I have this little story and a massive problem. I really need an answer fast...
I'm 16 (only!) and I have this boyfriend I'm seriously attached to. We've been together forever and we slept together for the first time this summer. A few times, actually. After that, I got my period and it was late by 3 days (which happens all the time). Then two weeks ago we hooked up again and now my period is 5 days late. I don't even feel like it's coming. The thing is, we used condoms and they never broke, we were super careful and nothing ever popped. I'm honestly terrified and I don't know what to do... This is so weird for me, I was sick all last week so maybe it's from that... I don't know if I should just go buy a test or wait a bit longer... please someone answer, anything...
thanks so much
😢
hey look, your question is a bit off topic but I figured since you're clearly freaking out it doesn't matter🙂
to me, it sounds like stress... just the anxiety of thinking something went wrong🙂
I bet you'll get it soon, but if not—try sitting in a hot bath (not so hot you'll burn yourself, obviously) and stay in there as long as you can... or until the water cools down... it helps open things up and is great for getting your period started... kind of like having a glass of decent red wine...
🙂both those worked for me—they're my mom's old tricks

If you're still reading and actually willing to offer some advice, please listen close... I'm trying to find out if anyone here has experience with terminating an unwanted pregnancy at clinics or hospitals in San Francisco, and what the vibe is like there.
Also, if the person is a minor, does a parent have to be physically present, or is having an older relative or someone close enough to them okay?
Do private clinics handle abortions, and if so, which ones?
A young woman who means a lot to me ended up in a situation she wasn't ready for. She doesn't have anyone in her family she can turn to for advice, let alone support or understanding, so she came to me... but I'm honestly lost on how I can even help her without overstepping.
I don't want to leave her hanging, but I really don't want to make things harder for either of us. PLEASE HELP!
Yeah, a parent
has to sign off on it first.
As for whether they need to stay with her during the procedure—it doesn't really matter.
It costs around $1500-$533 and recovery is different for everyone. My buddy was only out for an hour, had anesthesia, and said it wasn't too bad... but then there was another girl who ended up stuck in a room for a month because of stuff like that... so yeah...
Anyway, it's legal and done in all the hospitals.
I'm not sure if keeping it a secret is smart, though. It's a big deal. If God forbid there are complications or an infection, then what?
Whatever the truth is, it's always better than a lie 🙂
Good luck 🙂
Sandra Harris2 said:I haven't experienced any negative side effects from my birth control pills (I'm on Logest), but I would definitely recommend that you stop taking them.
Maybe oral contraceptives just aren't the right fit for you. If you really want to stay on the pill, I’d suggest seeing a different gynecologist—if you can—to explain this whole situation in detail and get all the necessary blood work and hormone testing done.
Good luck.
My doctor is amazing... but he's totally booked up until December... way too busy... and this other guy, ugh, honestly, he was just a total 5/10$200 after the exam 👎
Jack Hall7 said:Keep swapping them out until you actually find the right one—because let’s be real, none of these are even close to what you need. And honestly, it’s not even about whether you did your homework or did some deep dive online—the first thing you should’ve done was ask her about her family medical history, period.
That’s what he asked... nobody in my family ever took them (not even my mom or grandma 😉)
I'm getting worried... plus I have no clue what else to try next 🤷🤷
What other options are out there?
I looked for Stediril-M but it's not available here in the States...👎
So, here’s the deal. I came on here because I’m looking for some advice from the ladies who actually know what they’re doing in this area 🙂
Here’s the situation😛Last year, around July, I started taking Yasmin (my OBGYN didn't even bother to run any blood work first)... I took it for a few months, but the bleeding was happening every other month and it lasted the WHOLE MONTH! It was honestly exhausting...
The takeaway was that Yasmin was too weak for me, so they switched me to Loestrin (which is even weaker, but hey, who am I to argue?)—well, that turned out to be a total disaster. First month, I had nausea and vomiting, then constant bleeding, just feeling totally wiped out... I pushed through it for seven months before I finally said ENOUGH! I was seriously drained, and then Triquilar gave me a little glimmer of hope.
Basically, the first month on it was fine until things got ugly, and I was literally bleeding constantly—it was almost black in color.
Month two was relatively okay, just a bit of spotting (honestly, seeing just a few drops after all that was such a relief), so I started hoping my nightmare was over...
But nope, it wasn't over yet.
Month three hit, and I had this random spotting before my period, but then my actual period just skipped. I took a test and it was negative. My doctor was basically like, "If the test says you aren't pregnant, you aren't pregnant, period." He wouldn't even give me a proper exam... like, okay, whatever.
Now, I'm on my fourth pack... and my vision is getting blurry, I'm dizzy, getting sharp headaches, just feeling super weak...
The vision thing is what's really freaking me out though...
Does all of this mean I shouldn't be on birth control at all?
Has anyone else gone through something similar?
And also, can someone tell me how to actually check everything? Like, should I get blood work or specific tests done?
It’s scary to think I might be taking these when I really shouldn't be, and I don't even know...
Please, if you've been through this, let me know what happened to you🙂
Betty Nelson11 said:That could totally be the reason...
Hey, what kind of pills did you end up taking for the morning-after? Did you just use regular birth control, or did you grab the specific ones meant for that... you know, the emergency stuff? From what I gathered, you just took a higher dose of your normal ones... 😕
I don't know... honestly? Probably not the brightest move... 🤷 It's always the hormones... honestly. Everything just feels off and you can't even put your finger on why... just one day you're fine and the next everything is a mess...
☕
Yeah, I’m with you on that. But honestly, when things like this happen, that's usually how people handle it... mostly because your body is just trying to kick that thing out and needs something a bit more heavy-duty to get the job done...
So, I heard somewhere that girls usually just get the standard birth control pills—you know, like Yaz or maybe even Diane—but they basically give you a higher dose... I think it’s like two pills at once or something? Don't quote me on that though...
Honestly, I’m pretty much 100% certain... it’s gotta be the birth control. It just makes sense...
Honestly, Grace Foster65, I wouldn't be shocked if you end up dealing with some more spotting... everyone always says the same thing—it’s just the hormones acting up and there's really no messing around with that stuff. Keeping my fingers crossed for you... 👍
Megan Palmer54 said:I’ve heard about spotting after taking high doses of birth control pills... but if you're saying this happened two months ago, I really doubt it's related to that now...
I mean, they're hormones, right? It happens... could even keep happening for a couple of months after...
Grace Foster65 said:Yeah, I took those pills about two months ago. I actually took four times the normal dose just to make sure they worked as an emergency contraceptive, and I haven't touched them since.
So, could those pills be the reason?
Yeah, I’ve heard stories about that. But if I remember correctly—correct me if I'm wrong—you're supposed to take them within 48 hours of sex, right? They're meant to prevent implantation or whatever...
Of course they can mess things up, especially if you took
four times the regular amount. That’s not nothing...
Hmm, I’m on Lo Loestral right now, which is supposed to have the lowest hormone levels (I switched from Yasmin because I was bleeding every single month—not fun), but I still get this random spotting here and there...
...
Honestly? Just fill up the bathtub and sit in it until the water gets cold. It really helped me out once...👍👍
Grace Foster65 said:🙄I’ve scrolled through like a million pages online, even went and picked my brain with my OBGYN... but honestly? It’s always these forums where I actually find the answers I'm looking for... 🙂
So, here's the thing... I've been dealing with this super light spotting for two days now, and honestly? I have zero clue what's actually going on...
So, weird thing... my period is like, 8 days late (!!!). I actually got myself all excited yesterday when I finally saw some spotting, thinking it was finally happening, but it’s definitely not a full period. It’s more like... just a little something that looks vaguely like one... anyway... 🙄
I don't think I'm pregnant... probably just one... Maybe... potentially... I was feeling pretty critical about things like ten days ago, but honestly... I don't think that's really what's going on now.
Could it be just a virus or maybe the flu...? Sometimes everything just hits you at once... hard to tell with these seasonal bugs going around lately...
Or maybe it was those emergency contraceptives I was taking back a couple of months ago...?
I'm all ears... seriously, if you've got any experiences to share or even just a little bit of advice, please throw it my way. I really need all the help I can get right now... 🙂
Wait, if I'm getting this right, you haven't actually taken your pills for two months now? If that's the case, your body is probably still just trying to figure itself out... everything's basically still adjusting...
So, I've been on the pill for like 11 months now... and honestly, almost every single month I deal with this annoying spotting. It just keeps happening... 😠
I've already swapped them out a few times... but honestly, what can you do...
It’ll pass... even if you were being super careful, that period might still show up. Honestly, maybe it’s just the stress or all that pressure of waiting for something that hasn't happened yet... that's how it was for me when I thought I was pregnant...
So, I basically just filled up the tub with scalding water and sat there... like, for ages. Just stayed in until the water went totally cold. I was honestly just desperate... seriously, I was at my wits' end... needed that heat to help open up my sinuses... 😁So, it’s just been like that... all morning, all night... I'm totally wiped out. Honestly, I think I've officially hit my limit for tomorrow... 👍
swiftviper22 said:then explain why you're bleeding, Zeno... I figured out that you just bleed a little bit every two months.........
it goes like this😛I finish one pack, right? ...get my period during the 7-day break... then I start a new pack, and after maybe 2 or 3 pills, I end up bleeding for the entire month until I start the next pack. That’s how it was with Yasmin, every other month... damn...
swiftviper22 said:maybe it’s because you're overdoing it rather than not taking enough....
If you're on Yasmin, you're supposed to bleed every month... basically, you take it for three weeks and then have a one-week break, and that's when the bleeding happens... it's not technically a "real" period... but it's still like a monthly reset...
Oh my god, damn. Bleeding for an ENTIRE MONTH every other month isn't normal! Seriously...
Thank God I knew about that scheduled break, but what you're describing sounds like something else entirely...
I’m not even sure if this topic has been posted yet, but hey, better safe than sorry, right? 🙂
So, I was on Yasmin for five months, then my OBGYN switched me over to Logest about four months ago because I was bleeding every other month... basically because of some "insufficient hormone dose" thing. But then it turns out Logest actually has less, so now I'm just sitting here totally confused by his logic...
If you guys have any experiences or advice, please let me know 🙂
