George Nguyen3 said:Is there any way I can sign up and bet on bwin if I don't have those standard cards like a Mastercard or a Visa? I see they take PayPal, but even my Bank of America account won't accept this specific card my parents have (I think it's just a Maestro from the local Post Office)

I mean, if I remember right, there should be a way to move money into a Bank of America account through a bank or the post office, so I’d really appreciate it if someone could tell me more about how that works... I'm hoping there are some regular online bettors here who can definitely help me out

Just gotta ask, is that "13" actually your age?

You really shouldn't be gambling at such a young age.

goldenhound32 said:So, I was just thinking... if I head down to the bank to open up a foreign currency checking account, like, would it be okay to just hand over some cash in dollars directly to the teller? I mean, maybe that’s how it works? I guess I’m just wondering if they'd take it right then and there!
So, I was thinking... maybe you could just use a card that has dollars on it? Like, if you use a card with a balance in dollars, would it just automatically convert everything into whatever currency you need and then drop it straight into that foreign currency account? I guess it might work like that, but I'm not totally sure!

Honestly, I really think you should just go for it and set up online banking! It’s such a lifesaver, I guess. Maybe it sounds a little daunting at first, but man, it makes everything so much easier. Seriously, just do it!
When you're first setting up a new card, there really isn't any reason to hand over any cash upfront. I mean, I guess you shouldn't have to pay anything right at the start!
So, once you get that notification saying your card is finally ready for pickup, you can just head over there and handle it however you want! I mean, you could hand them some cash to get your dollars immediately, or if you already have some dollars on you, you can just give them those instead. It really doesn't matter either way, I guess! It’s super flexible like that.

Oh, hey! So, quick question—once I finally get that foreign currency checking account set up, am I gonna need to go through the whole hassle of getting a brand-new debit card, or can I just keep using what I have? I guess it depends on how they handle it, right? Maybe?

Yeah.
Honestly, there’s barely any line at most banks around here, unless you hit that crazy rush right after 4:00 PM. I guess it just depends on when you show up, but yeah, that late afternoon window is usually pretty hectic!

Hey, please don't take this personally, seriously!

It’s really just about the fact that while we have all these different sub-forums, only a tiny handful of folks actually tune into the FBI section.
And even those who do show up, they're mostly just there to vent about their own PDF moderators rather than being super satisfied with the ones they're reading. 😁
So, I guess you'll definitely stand out from the crowd.
Again, this isn't an attack on you at all—I know things can sometimes come off a bit differently over the internet than how they're intended.

Oh, and I totally forgot one thing.
We should probably give some credit to Sashov here, too. I've noticed quite a few positive shifts lately thanks to his input and how he helps clear stuff up.

I honestly only hang out in a few specific subforums, so I haven't really crossed paths with many of the mods.
From the ones I have run into, I’d say Dead Carrot and Nastassja do an absolutely stellar job moderating.

I should probably mention Gnothiseauton too, though I guess that might just be me pointing out a bit of nepotism in that thread... 😁

Since you posted this over on the FBI forum, it isn't exactly hard to guess who people are going to vote for or why the majority will go a certain way.

Just tell us exactly what happened.
Like, what do you mean by "I tried to use a bank transfer"?
And hey, try not to spam every single thread with the same stuff. Just relax, the sportsbooks aren't going anywhere 😁

Thanks! 👍 🙂

I have to send Pinnacle a scan of my ID, my card, and an "Authorization statement" they sent over for me to fill out and scan back to them.

But now, there's this one line that says: "card Billing address". 😕 What even is that? Like, what am I supposed to put there? My English is a little shaky, so I get most of the other stuff, but this part is confusing me.

Could someone who's already gone through this process please help me out? Thanks!

You don't actually email that to them; you just upload it right through their app.

The card Billing address is just the address registered to your card. Basically, it's your home address if the card belongs to you.

That’s basically why moderators even exist on these forums, right? Using warnings as some kind of big deal is something you should save for little kids.

That's not how it works.
It's actually him being nice to you.
I mean, it's way better to give someone a heads-up on something, and if you have even a tiny bit of common sense, you'll see what he means on your own—rather than just having stuff deleted like some mindless computer program without anyone ever being told anything.

driftingraven53 said:Hey everyone! So, I headed over to Chase today to grab my Intel debit card and got everything verified on PayPal—everything went super smoothly, thank goodness! But now I’m sitting here wondering about a few things... First off, when it comes to withdrawals to my foreign currency account, if they ask for scans of my ID and my card, what's the deal? Should I be sending them scans of both the front and back of the card? Or just the front? Or maybe the back? And if I do send both sides, should I probably hide some of the numbers for safety? I guess it's better to be careful, right? Also, I had another thought... let's say I make a deposit into Las Vegas through PayPal. Once it's finally time to withdraw the winnings, do I have to move the money from Las Vegas back to PayPal and then finally to my foreign currency account? Or is there a way to just go straight from Las Vegas to my bank account? I'm a little confused on how that flow works!😁

If you’re planning on using a card at Pinnacle, you might find yourself dealing with a bit more of a headache, I guess. But honestly, if you just stick to using PayPal, it's pretty much zero hassle. It's way smoother that way, maybe!

So, listen, if you're doing business with a card, you really have to get this done within a few days after you make your deposit—it’s super important!
So, I was thinking... if you're trying to get things set up, you probably need to scan your debit card? Just a heads-up though—make sure you scan both the front and the back! It’s super important to get both sides so everything goes through smoothly. I guess it's just easier that way, maybe? Anyway, don't forget!
So, I was thinking... maybe if you're working in Apple, you could just take a black brush and totally mask out that three-digit CVV code on the back of the card? You know, just to be safe? But, uh, I guess you should probably leave those last four digits visible so people can still identify which card is being used. Just a thought!
So, I was just thinking... if you need to scan your driver's license or ID, you should probably make sure the lighting is actually decent? I mean, maybe try sitting near a window or something? It’s kind of a pain when the glare hits the plastic and makes everything unreadable, right? Just a thought!
So, basically, you just gotta download their form, print it out, and then fill everything in. You really have to be super careful with the dates and making sure that first deposit amount matches up perfectly, too. Then you just sign it, scan the whole thing, and you're pretty much good to go!

So, you basically just gotta go through their web app—don't even bother trying to send it via email, because that's a total waste of time. And honestly? You have to be super careful, like, really meticulous. If you miss even one tiny little detail, they’re just gonna hit you with a rejection and that annoying "Try again" message. It's such a pain!

If you’re using PayPal, man, it's just so easy! You just sign up, make a deposit, play your heart out, and then hit that withdrawal button. Honestly, you don't even have to deal with any annoying documentation or paperwork, which I guess is a huge plus? Plus, getting your payouts is way faster too. It's super smooth!

Dana Ortiz11 said:Banning all foreign companies from providing poker, blackjack, roulette, and other forms of gambling over the internet clears the path for the federal government to run its own services and thus the revenues.

I just highlighted the most important part there.

Honestly, when it comes to how laws actually get passed, things in Germany aren't much different from how they work here in the States... it's always a mess of confusing legal jargon. And hey, any law can still get struck down in court if it's bad enough.
I mean, look at the French—as a people, they’ve always been a bit skeptical of the European Union anyway. So, the Government could easily try to pull the wool over their eyes and say, "Hey, don't gamble within the EU," but then, the moment the EU steps in and suggests that certain rules might actually hurt the average Frenchman, the Government suddenly pivots and yells, "Don't let the EU tell us what laws we can pass!"... it's basically just them playing both sides. 😁

The whole point of this law in Germany isn't really about "banning gambling." It's more about making sure the German Government Representative keeps a firm grip on the gambling industry through one way or another. They aren't banning the act itself, just controlling who does it.
But that totally goes against the European Union principles regarding the free market, so I really doubt it stands a chance.

Besides, our own Government doesn't really have any massive incentive to try and corral a tiny group of maybe 150 American online gamblers into using "local" or state-run sites. 😁

rapidviper54 said:Hey there, all you online bettors out there!

I can see you guys have plenty of experience with online betting, so I figured I’d pick your brains on something. I’m looking to drop a few hundred bucks at an online casino myself, but there's one thing I'm stuck on.

I pretty much get how the money transfer part works, but I’m really curious about what happens when I actually win something. Like, if I’m moving funds from PayPal over to my Bank of America debit card (I heard JPMorgan Chase is the best way to handle this stuff), I assume it goes straight into my foreign currency account, right? Since they recently introduced this foreign currency account, I was wondering if the bank makes a big deal out of it—because, let's be honest, nobody wants to deal with taxes on gambling wins. 😂

If anyone could help me out with some useful info, I would be super grateful!

It would be pretty silly if it turned out to be totally illegal, especially since DraftKings has such a huge presence near the LA Galaxy stadium, they advertise everywhere in the media, and they even sponsored shows on Fox News (or maybe ABC) ☕

Gambling winnings aren't taxed.

Also, legality—and the fact that regulations are still a bit of a mess—is eventually going to lead to full compliance with European Union standards. In the whole EU, it’s totally normal to bet wherever you happen to be, from Scandinavia all the way to England.
The only ones who kind of push back against that are the French, and there's a famous case where even they were told by the EU that they need to stop messing around. 😁

I really wanted to figure out where my diet was going wrong, and honestly, after chatting and messaging with all of you guys, I realized I just needed to organize everything I eat a bit more effectively... and now that I've finally gotten things sorted, I've actually cut out some stuff without even trying—it's just not what I'm craving anymore.
And I think I’m doing better now, I feel so much better!
Of course, I still let myself have a tiny little "slip-up" every once in a while, but nothing major, so I don't end up in that crazy deficit situation where I start obsessing over food and then binge on it!! For example, I have one single square of chocolate every day (just one!) and I haven't had a massive chocolate craving once in these last two or three months... I guess I'm getting enough nutrients regularly enough.
I haven't even touched coffee in two months, nor do I even want it; I've just been sticking to teas...😉

Way to go, Lisa Nelson96!

That's exactly how you do it! 😁

Lisa Nelson96 said:I’ve really cut back on processed junk (like, a ton—I mostly just have it in the morning or maybe for lunch if there’s rice or potatoes involved); and I only eat whole grain bread for lunch (just half a roll), so that's literally all the bread I touch all day! And hey, I actually dropped 2.5 lbs in about 3 or 4 weeks from that. Now, I haven't seen the scale budge at all for 3 weeks...
In the mornings, I go for a thirty-minute walk, and then in the evenings, I do my exercises (you know, for my back)...

Honestly, that’s just what happens when you start cutting out all that stuff people call "junk food" on those specialized fitness forums. 😁

One thing that might help you think a bit more clearly is to stop obsessing over the number on the scale, because, honestly, it doesn't really matter.
For some women, their body type just works better at certain weights. There is no such thing as an "ideal" weight, not even as a concept. Not only are the numbers misleading, but the whole idea itself is kind of a myth. They can be, I guess, little benchmarks, but they aren't nearly as important as how you actually feel and look.
Like, you could lose 1 lb of fat, lose 1 lb of water, and gain 1 lb of muscle—and you'd definitely notice the change even though it's "only 1 lb." On the flip side, you could lose 3 lbs of water, and it wouldn't mean much, except maybe you'll end up looking a bit washed out or unhealthy.

The real truth is what you see in the mirror. So, just ignore all those random comments you hear flying around. 😁
And the real truth is also the healthy habits you're building along the way.

So, wait... are you telling me that eating more protein than I actually need—which, let's be honest, I have absolutely no clue what my actual daily target even is! I mean, I have zero idea when I've finally hit my goal for the day!—won't actually make me gain weight?? Is that really how it works?!
So, I was just sitting here thinking... what is it that actually makes us gain all this weight from UG??! Like, seriously, are we all just turning into total couch potatoes or something...? I mean, maybe it’s just me, but it feels like we're getting a little soft around the edges lately, don't you think? I guess it's hard to tell exactly what's doing it, but man, it's definitely happening!😕

Yeah, I mean, Redom just isn't going to happen, right? Yeah, definitely.

Every single nutrient out there has its own specific job to do, you know? It's like a little ecosystem. But protein? Man, protein has like ten different roles all on its own! I guess you could say it's the real MVP of the food pyramid.
I mean, look, the idea that protein can actually be used as an energy source? Honestly, that’s like a total afterthought for the body. It’s such a secondary thing, and I guess it only happens in really extreme cases, maybe? Like, super rarely!

So, like, does eating a ton of carbs actually make you gain the most weight? I mean, probably, right? Unless, obviously, you’re just absolutely crushing it with all the fats and grease. In that case, it wouldn't really be the carbs doing the heavy lifting—it would definitely just be the fat. I guess! 😁

Trust me, you’d probably need like 20 years of grinding just to be a shadow of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Building muscle means eating a ton and training even harder. Honestly, maybe head over to some bodybuilding subreddit or a fitness forum—you'll find way more useful info there than I could ever squeeze into a single post.

@briskjackal5 - from what I understand, the body can actually convert excess protein into glucose, which then might turn into fat...

But honestly? That’s mostly just theory, and we're talking about tiny, negligible percentages here.
Those 30 or 40 grams of protein someone gets in their daily steak dinner aren't even going to make it to that stage because they're being used for so many other things... the stuff that actually hits the glucose stage is those 150 grams of carbs from that meal, plus all those hundreds of grams from everything else you eat throughout the day.

And we haven't even gotten to the fat conversion part yet! 😁
