Pace Car is out... the field is about to bunch up... 🙂
Will Sebastian Vettel attempt some "brake testing" now, similar to what Lujo onomad did? 🙂

That’s an interesting little strategy from Ford—trying to trigger a VSC by involving Haas just so they can jump ahead of Luxury... man, I still have nightmares about Singapore 2008... 🙂

p.s.
just kidding... 🙂

Sebastian Vettel has just pulled out ahead of Lou... this is getting interesting 🙂

VSC... looks like Seb is heading into the pits now

Good grief, Lou is absolutely tearing it up against everyone today...
Mercedes is a total beast...

Seb is currently battling Kimi, and if he keeps this pace up, he’s going to overtake him by the end...

Final standings:
1. Lou
2. Seb
3. Kimi

Is Sebastian Vettel going to "accidentally" pull out right in front of Kimi when he enters the pits? 🙂

Max is proving once again how clueless he really is... 🙂

If he wasn't such a total amateur, he could have been right behind Lewis Hamilton without any trouble at all...

Here is a definitive list of drivers who would absolutely, guaranteed, be sitting in P2 on the grid if they were driving the Mercedes-AMG driven by Valtteri Bottas:

Sebastian Vettel
Kimi Räikkönen
Max Verstappen
Daniel Ricciardo
Carlos Sainz
Nico Hulkenberg
Fernando Alonso
Esteban Ocon
Kevin Magnussen
Sergio Perez
Esteban Ocon
☕

Kimi is already in second place, and he wasn't even driving the Mercedes-AMG... 🙂

mellowtiger83 said:Exactly, Vettel lost at least 0.3 seconds through his own error, making the gap to Mercedes nothing more than an illusion.

It is entirely possible that under actual race conditions, Ferkan could be competitive, especially if Mecke managed to execute that oil-burning trick better than anyone else...
If that turns out to be the case, then perhaps the size of the deficit doesn't matter much, provided we have the Silver and Red cars sitting right there on the front row...

Valtteri Bottas is just a second-tier driver, and he’s never going to become a world champion... it doesn't matter if his teammate is Lewis Hamilton or someone else entirely...

Tomorrow's prediction: Vettel crashes into Hamilton at Turn 1, and then Kimi cruises to victory... 🙂

mellowtiger83 said:You’re looking at it all wrong. Sure, the Mercedes-Benz is fast, but what you just witnessed was pure Lewis Hamilton. He put together a flawless lap that felt like watching Ayrton Senna back in his prime...

Ferrari is right on their heels this year, much closer than they were last season.

Don't get me wrong, Hamilton is incredible—no one is disputing that...
But honestly, even Hamiltonus wouldn't be able to pull off a lap like that if he were behind the wheel of a Ferrari... 🙂

Sean Barrett35 said:Hamilton is putting in some incredible laps; the car looks like it's glued to the track. That turn 11/12 sequence was especially impressive and fast. I was hoping for more from Ferrari, but I suppose they've already secured their first real shot at the start...

As long as Kimi Räikkönen doesn't start messing around with the settings on his steering wheel... 🙂

It looks like Mercedes-Benz really overplayed their hand and completely blew it... 🙂
Now we finally see where things actually stand... 🙂

But seriously though: Is this General Motors car actually legit, or are everyone else just sandbagging?
