Everyone at the sportsbook ☕

Look, I know this makes zero sense and sounds totally unhinged, but I’ve got my reasons 😁

Predictions from the future by stormybadger8 🧐

Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen, equal odds…
F1 Imola GP: April 24th @ 3 PM ET in Formula 1 ·
Sam Clark75 said:Everyone has their own opinion, I suppose, but I nearly drifted off to sleep three different times. Watching that ALB-GAS-HAM train was easily the most tedious experience; in the end, nobody even managed to overtake anyone else. 🤦

Aside from Leclerc's self-inflicted blunder a few laps from the finish, it was pure, unadulterated boredom from the moment the safety car came out.

Too many cooks in the kitchen...
graniteharbor502 said:Apparently, the sprint race format just makes it a losing proposition for them. With only two practice sessions on the schedule, they simply don't get enough track time to accurately gauge if their new upgrades actually work.

It's true; the budget cap is definitely dictating how every single team approaches their strategy these days... you can't really afford to rely on that old "trial and error" method anymore... 🙂

Photographer Veljko Jukič, who has been covering Formula 1 for over 40 years—writing for Car and Driver back in the old days and now for MotorTrend—helped me secure an F1 Photo pass once again...

I won't post them here on the forum, but since I'm already in touch with ZekoHond, I'll send him a screenshot of my email via Wocap...

Damn, whoever was feeling jealous of both me and you guys...
The only place I'm going to vent about this forum is right here, so I'll send some photos directly from the center of the action at the track instead...
assuming, of course, the Italians let me inside...

Just make sure the images are a decent size. If I recall correctly, I had trouble viewing them because they were quite small... maybe it was just me, I don't know...
cosmicmoose2 said:An interesting statistic:
In 2021, Perez's average qualifying gap to Max was 0.673 seconds. In 2022, it dropped to just 0.065 seconds.

To me, this suggests that the car is simply settling better for Perez this year rather than him suddenly finding a massive leap in performance... Christian Horner mentioned something along the lines of the setup not quite working for Max, implying they haven't quite dialed in the right configuration for him yet...
Jason Campbell70 said:There were all those interesting theories and predictions about how the new cars would be so good at following one another that we might even consider getting rid of DRS entirely in the future.

Looking at what happened today, and even what we saw during those first two races... man, it’s quite something...

Even the drivers themselves have mentioned that while following the car ahead feels easier now, it doesn't necessarily mean overtaking has become simpler, since the impact of DRS just isn't as decisive as it used to be.
mellowtiger83 said:Someone tell Charles Leclerc what kind of message he needs to send out there.

Tibac, I already told you what I thought about Leclerc...🙂

Max is trailing by 46 points now, and both Lewis Hamilton and George Russell have pulled ahead of him in the standings. Oh, my dear Max...

Alexander Albon finally secured a point for Williams...🙂

Well, my dear Max, is it because his luck finally ran out?...🙂
Raymond Anderson4 said:Perez told Sky that they likely went with the wrong setup. He used "we," which suggests he feels he and Max were running pretty much the same configuration.

Today they ran a setup with higher downforce, which might be the culprit. They actually looked more competitive when they were running lower downforce...

They always speak in the plural, I suppose to emphasize that the driver and the entire garage crew operate as a single unit...
It is standard practice for all drivers to do this.
Now if I have to listen to the Italian national anthem one more time before I can finally get some sleep... 🙂
Charles Leclerc has gone ahead and declared himself the champion… 🙂
Well done, George Russell… 🙂
And here are the radio messages sent to George Russell…
Now we’ll find out if he actually has the guts to pull it off...
Way to go, Lando Norris...
He's nowhere in sight... I can't say I'm feeling too bad about it...
Way to go, Charles Leclerc
It seems like the final stretch just isn't sitting right with Fernando... 🙂
stormybadger8 said:I haven't had this specific feeling since way back in 2008 before the race at Monza, so you can imagine how I feel 😁
The odds on a Vettel victory are looking incredibly tempting at 999 🤣
Tibi placed his bet, though it would have been a much more interesting move if the odds were 666 😈🤣

Just flip the ticket over...
Signature for opening the thread…

Well, at least he can start looking for a new team right away or just start thinking about retirement...
Joining AM was clearly a massive disaster...

It’s such a shame because I really liked the FI crew; they always knew how to punch above their weight class despite their size and budget, but now that they finally have the money, they're worse than ever 🤦
Based on everything I've seen so far, I have a feeling AM won't even see a podium this season....
It's blindingly obvious that old man Stroll is an idiot who meddles in everything, basically tearing the team apart to its breaking point...
Such a waste, especially since back when VJ was running things, they functioned almost flawlessly...

And honestly, if you look at the whole transfer saga, it turns out they did Perez a huge favor by kicking him to the curb, and it's starting to look like Bottas might be next...
Magnussen absolutely nailed it, while the old man and his son Mazepin are probably sitting at home biting their nails seeing how good Haas has suddenly become 🤣

Yes, it seems the father was far too hasty, which was actually the main reason why Otmar left the team…
Nancy Perez75 said:The big question for tomorrow is this: how exactly is Ferrari going to mess up the race?

a) They’ll nail the pit stop timing all wrong because they’re terrified of an undercut from Hamilton or Checo.

b) The crew will screw something up during a tire change.

c) They'll get too aggressive in Turn 1 and let Max blow right past them.

d) They'll come up with some other ridiculous strategy on the fly.

All of the above…
It truly pains me to think about how masterfully the Ferrari pit wall will mismanage things tomorrow…
