Tomorrow, the FIA will be conducting an inspection of the Ferrari engine... 🙂
Just look at Alfa Romeo and Valtteri Bottas… are you sleeping soundly through all this, Toto? 🙂
McLaren is sandbagging dangerously well

Elizabeth Mendoza said:What kind of driver is Stroll even being when he’s getting outpaced by some rookie sitting in the cockpit for the very first time with zero experience? He's lapping slower by a whole tenth! 🤣

I honestly have no idea how Hulk is going to manage through that neck strain today and make it all the way through the weekend...
Nancy Perez75 said:Come on, people. Do you honestly think Russell has Hamilton's skillset or his mindset? This hyped-up British person... he's half the driver Max and Lewis are. I wouldn't even dare say he's better than Leclerc... honestly, he isn't even a better driver than Bottas... he's basically the third-best Briton out there.

He'll stay at the top only because he's driving a Mercedes-Benz, but I feel like after a hundred years, Mercedes-Benz might actually blow their constructors' title because of George...

I'm just really skeptical about Russell...

I don't know, seeing how he completely outclassed Bottas during that one race when he actually had the chance, speaks volumes to me.
It doesn't matter that everything went sideways at the end with the tire issues, it was pretty obvious what happened...
There's no doubt he has the talent, but whether he can actually pull off a WDC one day remains to be seen...
In my personal opinion, I think Russell is going to hit the ground running right from the start. He clearly has the talent, and while he might be lacking some experience, there is absolutely no doubt that he won't be turning out like Bottas.
So, what are everyone's predictions regarding the Hamilton - Russell dynamic in this opening race?
I mean, I wonder if the young gun will actually have the discipline to stay out of trouble and avoid flying off at turn three during the first lap just because he's desperate to make a statement.
Or are we looking at a chaotic start with broken wings and the inevitable "George, this is James..." radio call?

If the Scuderia had actually possessed a dominant machine like Mercedes did from 2014 until now, they might have managed to snag maybe two constructors' titles and one drivers' title... perhaps...

I have to agree with that...

Though the design is certainly unconventional... 🤔
It’s shaped like a girl with a massive bust and rear, but a tiny waist. 😁

Where I'm from, you see girls built like that all the time...
Anyone else stuck in quarantine? in Banned Users Corner ·
Is this just a fancy new way of saying I've been banned, or is it something else entirely? :)

I'm not really asking why I was banned—if that’s indeed what happened—since logic doesn't seem to be the guiding principle here anyway... I am simply curious about this new status and what it specifically entails... :)
Thanks...
What do you think about the sprint race? in Formula 1 ·
The sprint format is honestly a mess.
They really need to lift those fuel flow restrictions and open things up by bringing in more tire suppliers.
And while they're at it, just get rid of blue flags entirely.
There is just so much that needs to be addressed before the series actually starts looking good again...

Mark Hughes at The Race and Auto Motor und Sport have all started claiming that Lewis Hamilton's win came down to tire durability. It feels like they're just trying to mask how much raw pace the car actually had, which tells you exactly whose fans they are.
According to them, the reason Lewis Hamilton won was because his tires were in better shape, but I’m just not buying it. There was only a three-lap gap between the pit stops. That margin was completely eaten up while Lewis Hamilton was chasing Max Verstappen. Even after he pulled ahead—regardless of the fact that Max Verstappen eventually backed off from the fight—Lewis Hamilton kept laying down fast laps.

Hasn't that already been stated?...
It looks like Mercedes just "shipped" a new engine upgrade. They probably squeezed out an extra 15 to 20 horsepower on top of an already capable Power Unit, and honestly, that’s about as much as you can expect...
Word on the street is that the Power Unit is typically spec'd to run for about 7,500 kilometers, yet Mercedes apparently "shipped" this specific PU with a lifespan of only 2,500 kilometers... basically because they don't need anything more to coast through the rest of the season... and by doing that, they managed to squeeze out some extra horsepower...
So, they’ve played it smart by handling the Power Unit swap strategically. Even if there ends up being a recalculation involving the "old" Power Unit, it shouldn't be an issue since that one is perfectly fine to use anyway...
Jason Campbell70 said:Since we're already digging through the archives and debating how rules get implemented and interpreted, I'll toss my two cents into the ring:

Formula 1 bans moving under braking following complaints regarding Max Verstappen

Following driver pushback against Max Verstappen’s defensive maneuvers, Formula 1 has officially prohibited moving while braking.

While the driver from the Netherlands has made this tactic his signature move during battles with competitors, several other drivers have voiced concerns that it is incredibly hazardous.

Given the string of controversies surrounding the 19-year-old this season, this change will likely be dubbed the "Verstappen rule."

Five years later, and it seems Verstappen hasn't learned much.
He'll learn eventually, though. Once he hits another wall.

Max was "weaving" right up until the moment he hit the brakes... so...

By the way, hats off to Mercedes for their brilliant strategy—introducing yet another power unit designed to last roughly one-third of a "standard" lifespan because they cranked it to the absolute limit, only to end up sabotaging their own reliability by relying on pure, raw horsepower... truly masterstroke engineering from those geniuses...
Goodness, what an absolute disaster this Mercedes-Benz is... 🙂
And there you have it, my wingman actually telling him to let Luxury through at one very specific corner... 🙂
The Safety Car caught him right on the turn 🙂
ruggedhawk20 said:Yeah, right. They might as well just let them choose which position they want to finish in at the end of the race.

If only you had mentioned that earlier... 🙂
Drew Bennett68 said:It looks like the DRS opened up way more than it was supposed to—do you think they’ll actually penalize him with a last-place start tomorrow?

Stay tuned.

A penalty would mean sitting out for a week; we aren't going to go changing the rules mid-stream right now...🙂
Drew Bennett68 said:It looks like Lewis thinks he’s going to be picking up a penalty tomorrow, or at least that’s what the folks watching Sky are saying.

They really ought to implement a rule where, in situations like this, the team gets to decide exactly when they take their penalty. Ideally, it should happen before qualifying begins... 🙂
And perhaps, if they take it on Saturday, it would result in a 3-place penalty since it's the sprint race, whereas if they wait until Sunday, it would be a 5-place penalty... 🙂
But again, I maintain that they should have to declare their intentions BEFORE qualifying starts... 🙂
