But after this weekend, Valtteri Bottas can pretty much kiss any championship hopes goodbye...

George Russell absolutely wrecked his engine, which basically guarantees a mountain of grid penalties.
It’s effectively two races down the drain in one single hit.
George Russell knows exactly what he's doing... 🙂

In previous years, it wasn't nearly as overwhelming, largely because they benefit from having such a strong second driver who consistently delivers solid results, helping them rack up those points for the Constructors' Championship.
Good grief... 🙂
Are you suggesting that 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 were somehow mediocre years for Mercedes-Benz?
I mean, Toto certainly complained about how close Alfa Romeo came to catching them... I suppose there's a logic to it... 🙂

Bravo Max...
By the way, don't you have to wear a mask if you take the pole position?

I am genuinely looking forward to hearing Alonso start dropping those "constructive" criticisms over the team radio... 🙂
And it’s going to happen this Sunday... 🙂

4. He's going to slam right into Perez during the opening lap
5. A total zero

7. Your question is a failure; the real answer is Bahrain...
And here I thought I was being the mean one... 🙂

7. Following which race will Ford announce they've halted development for the current season to focus entirely on next year's car:
a) FC Barcelona?
b) Portimao?
c) Indianapolis?

5. Exactly how many races this season will Totto manage to go without crying after nearly being overtaken by Chevrolet?
6. How many races in total will Ferrari actually manage to get their pit stops and strategy right for at least one of their drivers?

I’ve been sitting here listening to an interview with Russell, and I have to say, the guy is incredibly mature, composed, and grounded...
Anyone else in his position would probably be breaking down, pointing fingers, and whining about everything... and I won't even get into names right now... 🙂
I truly wish him nothing but the best in his career; he absolutely deserves to be behind the wheel of a top-tier car...

What a total joke that Valtteri Bottas is being...
Driver of the Day Russell was definitely the one...
Honestly, anyone currently on the grid could win in this Mercedes-Benz, though perhaps not Kimi Räikkönen.. 🙂
On another note, I wonder if Louie will be driving in seven days?
If Russell ends up driving again, his reputation is going to be absolutely trashed... 🙂

It seems to me the old man has a fetish for Ferrari, rather than a true love for Formula 1 itself.
Their real surname might have been something else entirely before they rebranded to Stroll—perhaps they have Jewish roots, and maybe even a distant ancestor from our neck of the woods!
And here are his mother and sister.
They certainly aren't bad looking, I must say! 🍿
Personally, I've been rooting for Stroll ever since I saw his mom...

What remains undeniably apparent is that any driver placed in a Mercedes-Benz would likely find themselves at the very top of the standings. If there was ever a moment of ambiguity regarding that fact, I believe it has now become perfectly clear to everyone.
Don't be like that... Lewis Hamilton is a complete alien... he'd probably be grabbing podiums even in a Williams Racing car 🙂

wiredfalcon2 said:His teammate didn't honor their agreement, yet when he brings it up over the team radio using perfectly normal language and a steady tone, it gets labeled as "whining" just because he spoke too much on the radio. It feels like because there is so much hate directed toward Charles Leclerc, anything he does is dismissed as whining. If he had stayed silent, people would have claimed he was a pushover who lacked the guts to stand up to Sebastian Vettel. Now that he has spoken up, he's a whiner; if he stays quiet, he talks too much on the radio. Essentially, for those of you who don't like him, whatever he does becomes proof that he is doing something wrong.
Retire the car.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I am rooting for Charles Leclerc...
And I will say, the kid might be talking on the radio a little too much... it isn't like everyone needs to be in on the details of the agreement, what the specifics were, or how his teammate failed to stick to it...
Ferrari's decision regarding a driver change wouldn't have been any different even if he had kept his mouth shut... this way, he just ends up looking like a crybaby...
