What are we even fighting for? in Psychology ·
Just drop the fight; you're basically just burning through your own energy for nothing..

It actually worked for me for a little while, though I think I need to take a break from it for a few days. It wasn't exactly life-changing or anything, but it did seem to help with my blood pressure and general physical stamina.
By the way, I take Helex 0,5 whenever I feel the need.
If you're struggling to sleep, maybe grab some melatonin 3 mg; it helps me drift off quite a bit... plus, you don't need a prescription for it.

I was just skimming through this thread, and I’ve come to a pretty unsettling conclusion: it feels like anyone and everyone working at a place like Mayo Clinic can just peer into my private medical records whenever they feel like it. 😲 😲

Seriously, stay away from Xanax. I went through a nightmare with it myself, but I finally managed to taper down from taking 6 to 8 of those 0.5 mg pills every single day to just 2, and things are feeling a bit more manageable now. It creates such a massive dependency.

Well, congrats, I guess. Just don't forget you actually have to pay it back. 😁

And honestly, you can never really tell with those guys. If they come asking for one of your organs, you might just want to be ready to hand it over... good luck.

So, I’m trying to get a $21,000 unsecured loan through Bank of America, but they just told me that HROK is being difficult because of some old debt I had with Amex—which, for the record, has been fully paid off. I do occasionally run a bit into the red on my checking account, sometimes dipping past the limit toward the end of the month, but I always settle it up within three or four days. I guess I'm wondering what you all think my chances are of getting this approved? My average monthly pay is about $1867, and the monthly payment should be around $667. I don't have any other loans, credit cards, or anything like that. The only thing really weighing on me is that they mentioned needing to file some kind of exception now.

I'd suggest asking Amex in writing for proof that you settled your balance; I had to do that once before and it helped.

The odds on Mexico at 1/1.75 are a complete joke. They’re going to lose😠

The Irish national team is playing their final warm-up today against the US before the World Cup qualifiers kick off. Looking back at their Euro run, they were stuck in a brutal group with Italy, Germany, and Spain, where they ended up losing all three matches with a goal difference of 9 to 1. It was a rough outing, to say the least. Now, looking at the US side, their recent form hasn't been exactly stellar either—they’ve played seven games lately, picking up just one win, one draw, and five losses. But honestly, that might be a bit misleading because three of those losses came against some absolute heavyweights. They are desperate to snap this four-game winless streak and want to head into qualifying with some actual momentum. One thing to note: Ireland is missing Given, Dunne, and Keane on this roster. In my opinion, without those three key players, the US should be able to take this one fairly easily, perhaps even covering the spread.

This upcoming matchup pits the league leaders, Atlanta United, against the bottom-dwellers, Seattle Sounders.

Atlanta United sits pretty at the top with 38 points from fifteen matches, boasting a solid +19 goal differential (27 scored, 8 conceded). On the flip side, Seattle is struggling at the bottom of the table with just 11 points and a shaky -14 differential (16 scored, 30 conceded). Interestingly, both sides seem much more comfortable playing at home; Seattle has managed seven wins out of their eleven home games, while Atlanta United is arguably the toughest team to visit in the league. They’re currently holding off a very close challenge from Miami FC, who is only one point behind them in home performance, though Miami has played an extra game. Looking at recent form, Atlanta United holds the clear advantage, picking up 13 points in their last five outings with a dominant 8:1 scoring margin. Seattle, meanwhile, has scraped together six points in their last five, with a perfectly balanced 8:8 goal difference. Even though Atlanta boasts the best defense and shares the league lead for most goals scored with Miami, they can be surprisingly low-scoring, having finished eleven matches with two or fewer goals. Seattle is a bit more unpredictable; they’ve hit the three-goal mark eight times, but they’ve also been shut out or held to two goals on eight occasions. Historically, these two have met four times—Atlanta has taken three wins, and they split the points once. Three of those four meetings saw three or more goals, so I guess I’m honestly not sure what to expect regarding the total, but my gut says the visitors might actually pull off an upset today, even if it's just by a hair.

Portsmouth is in serious trouble here since I’m looking at this from a home-field perspective. The club is basically teetering on the edge of bankruptcy, and honestly, most people are betting they won't even exist by next season because their financial situation is just that dire. They've lost all their heavy hitters to other teams—guys like Dave Kitson, Liam Lawrence, Michael Brown, and Greg Halford have all moved on. For today's match, Portsmouth is going to be fielding a bunch of kids; I wouldn't be surprised if there are maybe only two veterans in the entire lineup.
Plymouth, on the other hand, went through hell last season. Their manager even hinted that they barely survived the year. But look at them now—they’ve bounced back and actually managed to pull in talent like Rhys Griffiths, Johnny Gorman, and Andres Gurrier. They’re clearly hungry to make a run in this cup, and they’ve got plenty of motivation, especially since their first round is basically a walk in the park against a group of "amateurs."
Since this cup is a single-elimination format, it gives Plymouth a real edge; they can't afford to play around or wait for a second leg to fix things. The odds are dropping fast because everyone is jumping on this. Since yesterday, the line has plummeted from 3.20 down to 1.70, and some sportsbooks are already locking the bets, so you might want to move quickly.

Checking on my checking account in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Tyler Vaughn5 said:Greetings. I am somewhat unversed in the intricacies of banking matters, so I find myself wondering: does the process of opening a checking account vary significantly between institutions like Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Chase, or Citibank? Furthermore, what are the associated costs for opening an account, and are there recurring monthly fees to consider? Or is there perhaps a venue where one might find such services free of charge?

Honestly, it’s all basically the same shit. I guess the only smart move is to just pick whichever branch is closest to you. Just be careful that they don't try to upsell you on mobile banking features you don't need, insurance, or other random nonsense. 😎
The Militarization of Italy in World ·
The Italian Prime Minister, Mario Monti, has pointed out that there’s a plan on the table to deploy the military to the streets. The goal? To push back against the increasingly violent protests targeting the current Government and its economic policies.
According to Deutsche Welle, Mario Monti also ramped up security readiness at key locations across Italy yesterday after a wave of violent demonstrations hit the country.

The Republic reports that the Supreme Commander of the Italian Armed Forces, Claudio Graziano, stated: "The military is more than ready to support the police in maintaining our nation's security." The report also mentions that the Ministry of the Interior is planning to defend about 400 critical sites from potential "terrorists."

Now that Prime Minister Mario Monti and the Italian Minister of the Interior have openly shared their plans for how the military will guard roughly 400 government offices—specifically tax collection centers—we're seeing fresh reports today about deploying troops onto the streets of Italy. In Genoa, a city in northwest Italy with about 600,000 people, local elections are being held this Sunday. Authorities are worried about "political violence," so they are once again turning directly to the military for assistance. 🤣🤣
