I'm currently in the market for a new monitor and my eyes are leaning toward the Dell UltraSharp U2717D. From what I can gather, there’s also the newer Dell UltraSharp U2719D available; I assume it's the successor, and looking at the specs, they seem nearly identical, with the exception that the newer version features an 8-bit panel (6+FRC)

The price gap is roughly $67. To be honest, I actually prefer the aesthetics of the older model—it feels more established, and the reviews have been consistently solid.
Should I bother upgrading to the 2719, or stick with the other? My usage is strictly limited to web browsing and office suites; I won't be touching any gaming or heavy media work.

I’ve got my doubts about this Safety Car restart. Sure, it’ll make for some gripping TV, but I can already see the inevitable meltdown from the fans once we see if the call was even necessary. If Lewis Hamilton loses out on a podium or a win because of a questionable Safety Car deployment, the media frenzy will be relentless for days.
We’re likely looking at more officiating headaches, much like the controversies we saw during those messy mid-race collisions earlier this season.
On another note, is the Virtual Safety Car staying put, and is Charlie still pulling the strings in Race Control? I thought there was some talk about him being replaced soon.

Didn't he make a similar blunder about a year or two back? He pitted right behind Nico Rosberg and left too much of a gap under the Safety Car, effectively throwing away his position.

Who on earth was the steward officiating this race? These penalties are absolutely ridiculous. Alonso and Hulk were driving side-by-side for at least 250 meters before he handed out a penalty, yet Ricciardo gets off scot-free even though he lunged in at the very last second and slammed right into Kimi Räikkönen. I don't see any logic here; in my view, both incidents were minor enough that they didn't even warrant an investigation. It’s absurd when they talk about implementing wider tires or whatever else, yet they obsess over policing these kinds of trivialities.

Sebastian Vettel is playing a bit fast and loose with the regulations by sporting that retro-style helmet.

There is some rather transparent signaling happening over at Mercedes:

"How was Turn One?" Lewis Hamilton asks.

"Not sure I can comment on Turn One," responds his engineer Peter Bonnington.

"Okay, how is the weather?" Lewis Hamilton follows up.

"Weather looks good," comes the reply.

I get the logic regarding the race and qualifying, but does this penalty also apply to the unofficial practice sessions?

He really should have made it clear to him that it wasn't his fault. Given how much space the other driver moved to the right, you'd expect him to brake even harder to stay on the racing line, but he either suffered a malfunction or his brakes just weren't up to temp. He screwed up, but there was nothing to it. Pérez couldn't have known what was happening, and in the end, Vettel owned it, apologized, and closed the book on the argument.

But now, it looks like that supposed brake failure might actually be due to a loose wheel 🙂. It would be incredibly amateurish if they were so sloppy that they messed up a setup during practice—where a single second is everything—only to repeat the same blunder. Hopefully, they've tightened the bolts by now 😁.
However, reports suggest that Vettel might have had an improperly secured front wheel—which, if confirmed, could lead to a penalty for an unsafe release from the pits.

Fio will take another look at the matter on Saturday morning, when it will have the opportunity to gather and review further evidence.

That’s his smallest gap, and honestly, Button was struggling so much that his time doesn't even matter in this context. Their reliability is still absolute garbage.

On a different note, what kind of penalties are they handed out during practice sessions? Is it just fines, or something more? Apparently, Kimi Räikkönen and Lewis Hamilton are under investigation for exiting the pit lane incorrectly, and Sebastian Vettel is being looked at for that collision with Perez.

What is going on with those Red Bull brakes? Every single time they hit the braking zone, they kick up such a massive cloud of dust that I honestly thought something had just shattered under the chassis. I haven't seen anything quite like it from any other team.
If Ferrari can actually maintain this pace and keep things competitive, the heat might shift toward the FIA and their tire selection process.
