What's the actual motivation behind all this?

Louise is actually great. She’s reasonable—you can talk things through with her. She doesn't go throwing punishments around for every little thing...

As for Tisha, I haven't really crossed paths with her yet..

That thread was a joke and it was deleted—rightfully so. I’m looking for a serious discussion this time.

The "Dark Triad" isn't exactly an ancient concept—it was actually cooked up by psychologist Delroy Paulhus and his student at the time, Kevin Williams. The whole idea centers on how Machiavellianism, subclinical narcissism, and subclinical psychopathy tend to show up together in certain personalities (Paulhus and Williams, 2002).

People who score high on Machiavellian traits are essentially manipulators—they lie, exploit others, hold a cynical view of morality, and are strictly driven by self-interest (Furnham, Richards, and Paulhus, 2013). The name itself comes from the Italian Renaissance diplomat and writer Machiavelli, whose book *The Prince* serves as a manual for rulers—basically advising them on how to maintain power through methods that are often cruel or immoral, like taking out political rivals (Muris, Merckelbach, Otgaar, and Meijer, 2017).

Narcissism is all about that sense of personal grandeur, feeling superior, and needing to dominate everyone else (Furnham, Richards, and Paulhus, 2013). It’s named after the Greek myth of the narcissus—a young hunter who was so blinded by his own beauty that he completely ignored and looked down on any affection others tried to show him (Campbell, Miller, and Buffardi, 2010).

Psychopathy, which most people consider the "darkest" part of the triad, refers to a total lack of empathy, shame, guilt, or remorse—combined with high impulsivity and a constant need for thrills (Furnham, Richards, and Paulhus, 2013). The concept grew out of psychiatric practice, stemming from systematic observations of patients displaying those exact traits (Muris et al., 2017).

The linked article has some decent subheadings worth checking out, like: Gender differences and mate selection strategies; The Dark Triad in pop culture and so on...

These are pretty extreme circumstances—I don't intend to repeat them...

I believe I’ve made some actual contributions to both PDFs outside of standard chats or one-on-one conversations with certain members...
Generally speaking, I have started quite a few threads on this Reddit community.
A couple of those ended up in these two PDFs—some were heavily visited and commented on, covering points that went far beyond simple chatting (or horoscope talk)...
On the USA side, they include:
Breaks
Lessons from past relationships

And on the other site—which I’m still hoping for, though it isn't showing much potential right now:
Best sex of my life stories

Similar themes were covered over at the other forum;
Conflict resolution styles and handling disagreements

I shouldn't be viewed as just another mindless chatter who contributes nothing to the community.

Of course... I mean, how many posts do you actually have in the History section? A million, probably. And yeah—I don't think a single one of them shows up in the History chat room.

If anyone actually does hang out in the chat, I certainly don't remember seeing you there. 😁

I have nothing against you, but I'll tell you why—at least in my opinion regarding these moderators—your request probably won't go through.

First off, the chat. You can "try" to fix yourself, but you're the type of user where 90% of your posts on this entire site are in the chat. I see you've passed the 80,000 mark, and I'm sure you realize those posts were almost certainly in the chat. If you look at your recent activity, it's still mostly chat, and very little actual participation in specific threads. 😁
Accordingly, and I believe the moderators will agree, placing a partial ban on your handle in those subforums is justified because you're still essentially chatting, just in threads located elsewhere on the forum instead of at the top. So, your "efforts" to reduce it don't really help your case.

Second, when I was more active on the US subforum, there were plenty of frictions and arguments, heated debates, and people bringing up private matters (not necessarily from your side), but the US subforum became a pretty unpleasant place to hang out back then. There were definitely reports and everything, since reporting is practically a way of life there. 😁
And your handle showed up in those discussions and arguments quite often, plus likely in reports, so it's easier for the moderators to just remove you than to constantly hover and watch to see if someone is going to start a fight, especially since the US subforum is like a powder keg; one tiny spark and everything goes to hell. 😁

Finally, since you've continued with the chat in other parts of the forum and your lifestyle stays the same, I think the partial ban won't be lifted, at least for the next 6 months, until things settle down. The users you talk to in the chats can just move over to Reddit and keep the same pace because, ultimately, it's just chat. 😁 I mean, if your profile looked different and you were a user who actively participated in all sorts of topics with a lower percentage of chat, your request would probably be taken much more seriously.

Just some friendly advice: maybe don't get so deep into arguments with completely irrelevant people on this site. It isn't worth it, and you really shouldn't feel the need to justify your actions. Doing that just drags you back into the fray, and then you end up right back where you started, begging for a partial ban. I guess it’s fine to clash during a debate and take the heat for it, but I’ve always felt like you have this compulsion to explain yourself and convince everyone that you aren't the person they're "accusing" you of being. Honestly, there probably wouldn't be so many fights if you just told them all to go screw themselves and focused on the people actually worth your time—whether that's here in the threads or in private messages. 😉

So? Even if it were one hundred percent true... 🤷

It’s not—chatting isn't banned in the discussion threads, provided you aren't breaking the rules...

Just don't push that tension too far... you don't want it crossing the line where excitement turns into pure stress. Between the cortisol and all that, it isn't worth it. 😁

Doesn't a person occasionally get caught up in something they know is idiotic? 😁

For instance, I know I end up drinking with the frat guys sometimes. And in those moments, I'm fully aware of how much of an idiot I'm being... 🤣

Lock this thread, leave us to Andrew Booth29, and let's all move on peacefully.

We don't have any clout or tools to hurt anyone, so what's the fear? I really don't understand this anxiety toward public support for exposing such a disgraceful mess—something that went completely unnoticed on Philosophy, which you shared with me quite openly, and I thanked you for.😲 Since I truly think that kind of integrity is admirable coming from a "real" man—which is a rare sight on this forum—maybe it just bothers people when someone shows up with a spine, a sense of humor, and an actual imagination? It's not a crime, though I suppose emancipated women might find it refreshing.🕺🙂

😍

I agree!

Regardless of the fact that, in this instance, I maintain that Andrew Booth29 didn't say anything wrong, and that he should stay as moderator!

She has already earned it by cluttering every single thread with her blog posts that have nothing to do with the topics at hand, along with various claims—like her saying women are easy to understand if you just strip a man of his ability to reason. 😁

The subforum needs at least a month to recover and regain some seriousness. 😉

😈 😁

Everyone is equal before the law; the same rules apply to everyone. I am not a woman, but if I were, I think I would find being positively discriminated against quite offensive—because to me, it would feel like proof that I wasn't considered equally capable, and therefore needed a little push.

I'm with you on this one.

Dostoevsky was already dissecting this exact same thing ages ago, leaning on those fundamental Nietzschean concepts regarding the superman destined for upheaval, whereas the average person exists merely to ensure the continuation of the species.

And just like that, case closed.

Finally, a post that isn't stuck in a single gendered perspective 🙏
