OB/GYN Discussion Thread in Women's Health ·
I've been with Dr. Miller's practice from the very beginning... he took me on without any issues. I just switched my insurance card over about two years ago, and since then, he hasn't had me on medical leave at all.
He’s actually really kind and gentle... no matter how many questions I throw at him, he always gives me a nice answer.
As for all that male vs. female nonsense...
I honestly don't care... as long as he does his job right.
Bloated goat belly issues in Health ·
I mean, it’s totally possible she dropped the weight fast... skin is pretty elastic, after all. If she's young, it should hopefully snap back into place over time. If not... well, maybe some plastic surgery would be the way to go.
That’s exactly why everyone tells you to take it slow when losing weight—so you don't end up in that situation.
How to stop biting your nails? in Health ·
I was one of those kids who used to bite their nails constantly... and honestly, it all started because my dad would check them every single day. He was impossible to fool. But then again, sometimes you just do it without even realizing it.
Eventually, I just started cutting them short instead. As soon as they grew even a little bit, I’d clip them right back down.
Later on, though, I actually developed this real desire to have long, pretty nails.
At some point, you just have to make a choice and stay on top of it.
Muscle Cramp Help! in Health ·
I’m totally with the girl who used to do gymnastics on this one.
You absolutely have to stretch after a workout... especially while your muscles are still warm.
And don't you dare take a long break mid-session either... just keep moving, maybe just dial back the intensity a bit.
Always make sure to warm up first. Do some ankle rotations before you head out for a run, or try some light jogging before jumping into an anaerobic circuit. And honestly? A little Advil and a good massage usually does the trick.

The real issue with student life is how long you have to wait for results. Honestly, it's not even the doctors at fault anymore—it’s the labs where they send the swabs that are the bottleneck.
I only ever pushed for expertise... though honestly, you never know what kind of "doctor" you're going to run into.
As for Chlamydia... everyone just kept asking me about it and giving me advice that testing for it was my best bet.
Abortion discussion in Women's Health ·
It’s honestly tough to talk about all the different scenarios because, unless you’ve actually found yourself in that position, it’s hard to wrap your head around just how heavy everything feels at once.
Personally, I feel like an abortion should be the absolute last resort... I mean, if you truly can't see any other way out.
Take a situation where a child is born with, say, Down syndrome... there are people who would have chosen an abortion if they had known that beforehand, but then there are those who wouldn't have—and they don't regret their choice. And the truth is, plenty of women change their minds too, thinking they'll put the baby up for adoption before the birth, but once everything is over, they simply just don't want to go through with it anymore.
And look, if the alternative to an abortion is leaving a baby in the trash, then I’d much rather see an abortion.
As for whether life should go to the mother or the baby... I think 99% of moms would tell you they'd rather give birth to a living child and then pass away themselves than have it the other way around.

Look, abortion isn't just her issue—it’s a man's responsibility too. He carries just as much blame here (and I'm not even counting that part where she lies to him about being on birth control when she's clearly not)
As for people having conflicting opinions? Let them. Honestly, if someone thinks like that, I wouldn't want to be in a relationship with them anyway.
I feel like you can get through almost anything, and to be totally honest, I don't even know what I'd do if I were in that situation... but I know for sure my parents would be against it, even though they've always been pro-choice.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Miller, and I have to say, he’s actually really great. I haven't tried anyone else, but he’s always super polite and genuinely attentive whenever I'm there. Honestly, no complaints from my side.
As for booking appointments... it can be a bit of a headache. Everything is handled through the patient portal and they have such a huge volume of patients that you can basically only schedule once a month. Though, to be fair, when I had an emergency recently, I didn't even need to book ahead.
But man, I was so frustrated hearing about what happened to a friend of mine. He went down to Cincinnati for a check-up—actually saw a urologist regarding HPV testing—and this doctor just looked at him, laughed right in his face, and told him, "If there aren't any symptoms, there's no need for an exam." That is just absolute garbage behavior from a doctor.

Man... it's honestly hard to say what's going to happen next.
And making a choice like this? It's just so heavy.
Mentally and physically, it takes everything out of you. Of course, I’d always go to a professional first... but let's be real, 99% of the experts you talk to are just going to try and talk you out of it.
Yeah, Tae Bo... I mean, it’s cool, but my concern is that so much of it probably lacks actual technique and people are just going through the motions without any real form.
I’ve always been more of a solo athlete myself; I usually just design all my own workouts from scratch.
