1) Kimi
2) One of the Mercedes cars (the other one will probably get taken out in a first-corner pileup)
3) Daniel Ricciardo
4) One of the Williams drivers

Man, what a way to kick off the season if that actually happens🙏
F1 Australian Grand Prix : Button Trying to avoid starting at the back

Honestly, I probably should have taken a deep dive into the archives to see when was the last time McLaren actually had to line up from the very back of the grid 🙏
And it’s just like when Lotus first announced they were splitting off—they promised it would finally free them up to actually focus on development instead of being spread too thin.

In the near future, the only thing we'll be watching on the starting grid is the showdown between Mercedes-Benz and Ferrari 🙂
thanks 👍

man, both Ferraris are absolutely flying right now
Where can I catch the stream for the training session?
Looks like we might get some light rain on Sunday :klap:

Just the kind of mess needed to make sure nobody has a clue what’s going on during the first race 🤣

That’s exactly how things are going to play out as long as Mercedes-Benz keeps rolling out superior cars while they push Lewis Hamilton forward and put the brakes on Nico Rosberg. Eventually, we'll see a repeat of what happened to Sebastian Vettel last season...
It was all pretty obvious, honestly—I can't even begin to wrap my head around how much more manipulation is probably happening behind the scenes.

edit: Look, just let them race. I wouldn't bet a dime on there being some massive points gap at the end of the season; it’ll likely come down to a tiny margin between one or the other.
mellowtiger83 said:So, who exactly counts as "class" to you?? Come on, do me a favor and spill—I’m literally cleaning my ears out right now just so I can process what you're saying. Just tell me.🍿

There are plenty of top-tier drivers out there, but claiming Lewis Hamilton is pure class while Rosberg is just "good"... yeah, right. Saying Rosberg is "good" when he has to spin out two or three times in the same chicane just to let the "classy" Hamilton take the win? Please. 😁

Look, anyone actually paying attention to the season standings at the end of the year would probably dismiss your take just as quickly as you did. 😁 (And honestly, if you actually bothered to watch a single race, I’d suggest you clean your eyes out right after you finish with those ears. 😉 )
mellowtiger83 said:It shouldn't be that hard to take down Barbie—but honestly, calling him a fraud isn't quite right. He’s actually decent; he might not be in the same league as Lewis Hamilton, but he can definitely hold his own when things get heated.

So Hamilton is "class" and Rosberg is just "good"? What's next on the list of nonsense I'll have to read? 🤣

Let's be real—Hamilton is only considered "class" at Mercedes because he had the entire team protecting him the whole way through. 😁

Look, you might think that's funny right now, but given how things went with Bernie Ecclestone, it wouldn't be that much of a stretch to see a woman taking over the reins soon.

Classic Bernie Ecclestone... he always knew exactly where women belong in this business.

I honestly can't forget Katy Price—she wasn't just eye candy for Jordan, she was actually lifting the spirits of the entire crew, from the lowliest grease monkey in the garage all the way up to Bernie himself.😁

Just gonna lead with this.

I’m just genuinely confused about why there’s such a sudden influx of women lately—Danica Patrick, Lynne Wilmot, and now Carmen Jordá—moving from driver development roles straight into leadership or testing spots. Where exactly is F1 headed? 😵

I mean, let’s be real—everyone knew what their role was supposed to be in this sport. Just walking around the paddock, smiling for the cameras, showing off their looks, holding a lollipop, or acting as basically decorative accessories for the drivers... but now, in the most elite tier of motorsport, they’re stepping into roles that, frankly, aren't meant for them. It’s starting to feel like a bit much.

I'm with you too, Joseph. I remember picking up copies of Car and Driver back around '82; you'd spend two whole weeks waiting for the next issue just for a tiny blurb about the race and maybe one or two black-and-white photos. Of course, I used to cut them all out and keep them in an archive.
Well, I was only 15 back then, so everything felt massive! But yeah, it's all just "back in the day" now.

+1, especially for the bolded part.

I just had this random memory flash of an old radio show—you probably remember it, back when they’d run "Afternoon Delight" followed by sports and music. There was this specific jingle:

And then you’d get those commentators calling in from stadiums all over the country. Honestly, I think half the population was glued to their radios back then. A goal would be scored, and suddenly some guy is breaking down the stats and complex math of the play... that's just how much attention that sports segment used to command on the airwaves 😁 though I suppose if you want to see how a team like the Miami Dolphins handles playing an away game in some remote corner of the South, you'll have to wait and see 😁

Everything felt bigger back then—especially when it came to sports, including Formula 1. It actually drew massive crowds, whereas today, it feels like it's just a small group of die-hard fanatics—or maybe just nostalgic folks, I don't know. That’s just my two cents, anyway.

Can we please get moderator Blay renamed to Blaž? It’s just a small tweak, right?

He clearly misjudged the gap, though, and ended up clipping the tire. Just your run-of-the-mill racing incident.

Look, this was settled ages ago—honestly, I have no idea why people are still dragging this out in debate. image
Come on, ruggedhawk20—back in the nineties, there’s no way he would’ve just handed over the spot to Nico Rosberg like that. He definitely wouldn't have ended up in the gravel like we saw with Rosberg...
Refusing to back off just to "make a statement" is basically just planning a crash in advance. That's the whole problem—he had the chance to give way, but decided against it.

Michael Schumacher vs. Nico Rosberg – Spa 2010

And now all those trolls are running around the internet crying about rules and regulations.

It's funny how these same trolls seemingly have total amnesia regarding what Schumacher was pulling back in the nineties.
