In that case, I'd recommend a Mattig—they’re easily one of the better Opel tuners out there. 👍

By the way, has anyone actually seen the movie *Manta Manta*? Why on earth did Klaus make it like this—does anyone actually speak German?

That's not how you say it—you're way too wound up, mellowtiger8

Man, seriously, it’s been 45 years since that little gadget even hit the market 🙏

It’s honestly wild how small the world is—you run into someone you actually know.

Back in the day, an auto club magazine used to have this dedicated restoration column—and I remember one guy from Zagorec working on one just like this, finished in that exact same ochre shade 🙏

mellowtiger83 said:Newer Opels? Come on, it’s practically a classic. Production really kicked off around 1989 style, Ale, nearly thirty years ago.

There are a few stock ones on Autoscout if you just bother to look and have the cash.

Well, I guess I was thinking about those solid old Opels from the seventies and eighties; those are relatively recent compared to what I mean.

edit: and the brand new ones? They're honestly pathetic, God help you if you have to drive one.😁

^^

And she rolled out of the factory looking absolutely flawless—nothing about her needed touching. One of those rare newer Opels that I actually have a soft spot for.

But finding one in pristine, stock condition? You'd be better off winning a million on a lottery ticket.🤦 I honestly can't wrap my head around why they were such a magnet for all those total idiots.

It’s a shame we don't have Neighbor around anymore. This is definitely a step backward.

So, what happened? Did his haters get him banned?

mellowtiger83 said:In that one race where Michael Schumacher illegally finished ahead of Ayrton Senna by cutting through the pits during a lightning-fast refueling stop (which was obviously against the rules).

But in that scenario, Damon Hill only gains 6 points from it—so how many points did Ayrton Senna actually claw back during those laps when he had such a massive lead? How much was it, mellowtiger83?

ruggedhawk20 said:In Brazil, he was a whole damn lap down to Michael Schumacher.

That’s true, but mellowtiger83 is really aiming at Ayrton Senna👍 regarding how he lost a lap back there. 👍

But if you look at it, Hill puts 6 points on the board here—so how many points did Ayrton Senna actually lose out on by being a lap down when he had such a massive lead? How much, mellowtiger83?

mellowtiger83 said:Well, Damon Hill certainly spent plenty of time in that car; he was trailing by an entire lap at one point, if I recall correctly.😁

Who exactly was he falling behind? In which race?

Dana Perez6 said:Nah, it's more about seeing the contrast between how things ran at McLaren versus Williams. At Williams, he was constantly radiating this pure dissatisfaction, almost like he sensed the car was a total lost cause. It felt like he was losing his mind because he had to push every single limit just to stay relevant.🤦

I mean, regardless of how he names that car—because let's be real, you already know that back in '94 his teammate was Damon Hill, who was apparently busy chatting away on the radio in that same machine.

Hey, can I get some clarification here?

1. Are you suggesting that everything at McLaren was run with total professionalism—basically top-tier—compared to Williams, which was the complete opposite? Or am I just getting my wires crossed?
2. Also, why would anyone even think Ayrton Senna was out of place at McLaren?

ruggedhawk20 said:What kind of story are you trying to sell us, Ale? Seriously, man. You just posted a picture of a MARCH car from a CART race with a Porsche engine—you're such a damn March fanatic. You literally just dropped a photo and didn't actually tell any kind of story.

Lesson 2 is coming tomorrow, but right now I'm absolutely wiped. Time for sleep.🙂>

You guys seriously don't get it—he's basically spinning this yarn about how Porsche had to absolutely demolish the IndyCar scene back in the eighties,
that they actually needed to cook up some new regulations fast just to stop anyone from coming along and doing exactly what they did.
Once the folks at Porsche realized what kind of shady characters they were dealing with, it was basically a definitive "goodbye" to IndyCar.
They ended up recycling part of the project—basically just tweaking the engine a bit—and sold it off to McLaren. And man, talk about a winning combination!
