If people don't like the current look, there are plenty of other skins available. Right now, the forum looks like something stuck in 2006.

Anyway, props to you—you're easily the biggest forum in the country—but you have to admit, a little polish wouldn't hurt.

Most people are running some version of AdBlock, so just try to guess how much ad revenue is actually coming in...

Walter Taylor76 said:Just a few questions about the forum—why hasn't there been a move to a new server or any actual fixes? The pages lag constantly, and half the time they don't even load at all.

It would also be great if you upgraded the vBulletin version, since 3.8.4 is pretty ancient by now.

And maybe add some new skins so the forum looks less dated; for example, something like this site ( http://forum.codehook.com/ ).

Also, adding "Thanks" and "Last Visitors" options to profiles would be nice.

If a few thousand dollars were actually invested here, the forum would look much better. Everything else is fine, though; the admins are great.

Servers cost money (pay up and you can upgrade whenever you want).
New versions cost money too.
That skin is hideous.

@nimbleharbor10, how exactly do you plan on following a conversation if the reply to a question is buried five pages deep?

What’s even the point of having "high-quality" posts pinned at the top when you've got one single "patient" on this site who just keeps spawning clone accounts to upvote his own nonsense and downvote the actual substance?

If we ever actually manage to fix this mess, we’ll need to add a double facepalm icon, because this proposal definitely deserves one.

How can I be sure one of my family members doesn't get banned just because they signed up for this forum? We only have one computer in the house and we're already seeing bans—my boyfriend got hit. How are the moderators going to fix this kind of injustice?
Greetings!

Maybe try finding a boyfriend who actually knows how to behave if his main issue is getting banned? I hear Slack is more than happy to send pictures via DM, so maybe reach out to him for help. 😁

Lisa Chase68 said:Since scientists can also be people of faith—and we know plenty of researchers who are religious—it stands to reason that one doesn't necessarily negate the other. Honestly, suggesting they are mutually exclusive feels a bit naive, if not outright malicious.

Those scientists are still following the scientific method, not religious dogma. There’s a distinction there.

Dennis Davis5 said:So, I got slapped with a week-long ban for "hate speech." All because some guy attacked me on the forum and my only response was "Play the game, not the player." Is that really where we're at now? 🙂

Maybe that’s why they say "blame The gama, not the player"?

Exactly.

Science didn't even exist when we crawled out of the caves; if we’d waited for it, we’d still be living in them. The first "scientists" were basically just priests and scholars.

Science split from religion a long time ago. That's actually why we've made it this far. It's based on observing how the real world works instead of blindly following some divine whim—and by "God," I just mean the linguistic construct people use to force faith back into the conversation.

The core of religion is blind belief, whereas the core of science is knowing that new data or observations can change your entire perspective.

One stays stuck in its own mythology while the other adapts to reality. Isn't that the whole point?

redorca13 said:What if you're just believing? You don't actually *know*; you're just taking it on faith. That makes you a believer, not an expert.
Even those who believe in God rely on His knowledge—but whose version of that knowledge are you actually following?

I don't need to believe in anything. Science pulled us out of the caves while religion works overtime trying to drag us back in. Isn't enough for the smart ones?

I believe in facts. Everyone else can deal with faith.

And why did the :2up: disappear?

Because I'm just a total menace who hates you all and lives to mess with you.

Or maybe it was an accident.
placidorca16 said:Look, man... if you don't like what I'm saying, feel free to scroll past—I didn't ask for your opinion, and frankly, I couldn't care less about your comments.

The real issue is when the people you claim to be fighting for turn their backs on you. That’s when you realize how deep you've sunk into fanaticism.

Since you're such a bitter misandrist and an ultra-feminist, why not just move to Sweden? They seem to have an endless supply of people like you. The whole country is already a mess thanks to their "genius."
Alex Barnes8 said:Did Anderlon send you here to stir the pot during pickle season?

If so, he should probably find someone else.
Because what you're doing is transparent and pretty bad.

Your advocacy isn't any better, either.
Poor soul you're trying to help. ☕

Not really. I just enjoy watching fanatics lose their minds when they get called out for being fanatics. Just declare feminism a religion and watch the sparks fly. Then you could start collecting taxes, too. 🙂
Alex Barnes8 said:That kind of terminology is pretty much off-limits now.
Not everything falls under the FBI's jurisdiction.

No.
I guess even the police aren't the only ones who can label things.
There are all those various associations, organizations, and media outlets too.

It was the same deal with religion.
An article once popped up about how believers were treated on a major US forum.
You might dismiss a specific news outlet, but if it hits one mainstream source, it eventually finds its way to another.

So, newspapers run by believers (and pedophiles) are complaining about being called believers and pedophiles? I’m sure that’ll change everything on this forum. If you don't want people calling you a pedophile, maybe stop messing with children.
It’s the same logic: if you don't want to be called a feminazi, don't complain about women being degraded and men being insulted in the same breath.

Maybe there’s some feminist publication out there where you can write a pathetic little op-ed about how people treat you. If it worked for the church, maybe it’ll work for you. Then you can just swap articles with each other and watch the chaos unfold.
Can we get an answer to the first question? Which specific parts of the Constitution and laws of the USA is this actually violating?
Justin Harris12 said:Does the truth hurt? Truth about Muslims and Jews? 🤷
I’m not asking you to kiss my ass, and I didn't even bring you into this thread, but since you're an admin, I actually showed you some respect at first. That respect vanished after your third post. Your insinuations against all Muslims and Jews—even if you claim you were speaking "unofficially"—carry a different weight because you hold a position of authority.

As for your suggestion that I go to some fundamentalist forum or leave this one if I don't like it, or your comment about how all Jews play the victim... I don't think I ever gave the impression in my own topic that I was some fanatical or extremist believer. An American news site that recently allowed caricatures of Muhammad and insults toward our prophets shouldn't be falling for posts like yours that just fuel interfaith hatred.

Who says only extremists demand protection from opinions they don't like? Catholics got the exact same response when they complained about the constant coverage of pedophilia within the Church.
It’s the same deal with Israel; any criticism of their actions is immediately branded as antisemitism.
Your approach is identical. You don't like someone's opinion, so you immediately hide behind religion, claiming it needs protection, and then try to get anyone without a specific viewpoint banned.

You can try selling those lines to someone else. I have no intention of following those standards.
Nicholas King said:Sorry, you don't have it.

You’ve completely missed the point. You're basically irrelevant in this thread. It’s an indicator, not a phenomenon.

Better luck next time 😢.

I guess anything is better than nothing. Someone like you actually went through the effort to follow me and copy-paste my posts. How charming. It might have been more pleasant if you were a woman, but what can you do? Beggars can't be choosers.
