When Johnny Bravo is chewing gum and losing his mind! (They Live)

When a computer suddenly comes to life like an infant and declares: "I'm alive!" (Demon Seed)

When Jul Briner coldly shoots down a tourist in a duel. (Westworld)
Ginger has been bombarded with an endless stream of insults, including from the very individual who initiated this thread. You can practically watch her composure crumble in real-time until she finally snaps and resorts to insults herself.
Now, she’s facing a three-month ban, which is a ridiculous outcome; if the moderators had actually done their jobs and managed the thread properly, we wouldn't be in this mess.

Since when did we start punishing community members for the sheer negligence of the staff? It’s fundamentally unfair and completely lacks integrity.

You and Oštrić might share the same feelings regarding the USSR and JBT, and hey, that’s totally fine.
I’m not exactly far from the Partisans' positions myself, but what Oštrić is doing right now is straight-up driving people away...
Look, Oštrić is a phenomenal forum user—the guy is absolutely packed with knowledge—but as a moderator? He’s a killer. He burns everything in his path, and frankly, it’s deeply concerning how he’s chasing people off this subforum.
I’ve already reached out to the relevant mods to flag this, pointing out not just his behavior, but also Oštrić's thin skin, his angry outbursts, and even the threats he’s thrown around.
I don't know him personally, but the guy clearly has some neurotic issues going on.

The History subforum used to be a place for meeting up, for actual debate, for deep and meaningful discussions—it was a pleasant place to be...
But Oštrić’s moderation style has brought in censorship and a sense of fear; people feel exhausted by the constant "monitoring and eavesdropping"... you have to watch every single comma, because he’ll delete or remove anything that doesn't fit his specific worldview.

The truth is, Oštrić is killing the forum.
You have to think exactly like him just to participate.
If anyone actually cares, I can show you the sanctions he’s slapped on me and the "explanations" he gives for them.
I even sent messages to the moderators over at the History subforum asking for advice...

Oštrić is simply not cut out to be a moderator... it’s been proven.
He’s effectively suffocating every single discussion topic.

And look, bluecyclist64, just be decent. I’m not saying you have to be against Oštrić, but don't defend him like this, because you're only helping him do more damage.

A forum should be a place for community.
For Oštrić, it’s just a playground to vent his own frustrations.

It’s not true that Oštrić is stifling order.
He's stifling *you*, for instance, because he's caught you fabricating and falsifying documents about ten different times, not to mention the outright lies.
With most other moderators, you would have been dealt with after a few warnings and a ban.
I truly don't understand why Oštrić is being so lenient. Has he ever actually handed out a disciplinary measure in the History section?
Kenneth Cruz67 said:A rather honorable, albeit perpetually unfinished, college student is venting some personal frustrations here, while simultaneously trying to act like a big deal by insisting on citing all his references and sources on this general-purpose Reddit thread.

So, according to this logic, the primary purpose of a general forum is to spread disinformation and propaganda?
I don't think so.
Larry Walker24 said:Because the moderation over on the History sub is such a complete disaster, I actually requested a partial ban from there. I’m just not interested in reading the version of "History" that Oštrić tries to push on us.

It’s pretty obvious that Oštrić treats history as an actual science. The kind of "history" that trolls scrape from bottom-tier websites is much better suited for the Alternative section.
Let's be honest here: if someone is trying to learn history solely from movies on YouTube or similar sources, they really have no business lurking in the History subforum.

The moderation over in Natural Science takes a similar approach, and personally, I think it's excellent. If you don't have the knowledge, the facts, or the arguments to back things up, feel free to head over to some other subforums that don't demand much from their users.

It isn’t about the number of buttons. The real issue is that once this goes live, a crowd of idiots will inevitably clog up the bandwidth by streaming their mindless videos, causing the site to lag even harder. Then, predictably, those same people will be right back here, whining and complaining about why the performance has tanked.🤦

silverviper44 said:Country music isn't really my scene, so... honestly, I don't care whose brand of hillbilly it is. For me, it’s all about the vibe. The Irish have never once let me down. When I'm at those local country shows, it almost always devolves into some kind of brawl with bottles flying everywhere—you can't exactly enjoy the mood when you're heading home to your house (or hotel) with a busted face.

Then again, Norwegians are just as heavily intoxicated. They tend to be incredibly polite about it, essentially drowning themselves in alcohol while staying perfectly civil. Their karaoke bars are always packed to the rafters, and everyone just sings along in unison.

Ah, I see what you mean. After years of drinking with the Irish, you've learned they rarely cause a scene. Well, it's what they're known for, I suppose...🤣

silverviper44 said:When you look at the Irish and their "Irish drinking songs"—a genre that stays with you forever—you realize something. Even though most people from my neck of the woods would swear that cheap bar anthems and local folk tunes are the peak of a night out, to an actual Irishman, those generic party songs are nothing.

Honestly, it’s the same nonsense. It seems like you just enjoy pretending that playing up someone else's rural stereotypes is somehow sophisticated...🤣
Cool, right? Just great...🥳

What do power users actually do for a living? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I’ve been reflecting on that discussion regarding Antilles lately. It brings to mind a specific period back when I was working in logistics for a firm out of Chicago; we dealt with similar complexities involving fragmented territories and shifting maritime regulations. There is an inherent difficulty in managing oversight when the geography itself seems designed to complicate simple administration. One tends to develop a certain level of skepticism toward centralized solutions that fail to account for such localized nuances. It’s a wearying cycle, really—watching planners attempt to impose order on chaos, only to be surprised when the reality on the ground refuses to cooperate. kaže:
And which one of those three would you say you are?

P.S. Are you keeping an eye on the chatter over at the forums? 😬

I received a tip, so I decided to keep an eye on you all.😁

Paul Bunyan, you’ve got some nerve. You probably actually believe they just shot up Sandpaper, thinking he didn't head straight into the jungle and isn't coming back... Or that Elvis Presley isn't currently on Mars...🙂
Honestly, it's ridiculous. When he was still breathing, Vincent van Gogh couldn't have even painted a pantry door for the price of a cheap breakfast sandwich, yet now look at him—he's become a commercial icon.
It seems we, the seemingly dead, are the ones actually running this world!🙂

Good grief, Paul Bunyan—you’re going to become some legendary figure on this Forum once people can't tell if you're actually Karlo Metikoš, Željko Malnar, or even Marshall himself!🥳

Fallout Shelter

Those who follow us (back in 1978!!!)

The ones coming after us,
will inherit nothing but
landscapes of poured concrete,
and they’ll go about their days
wearing green caps and hats,
while from their very eyes,
flowers will seem to sprout.

The ones coming after us,
will listen to nothing else
but the chirping of plastic birds,
carrying smiles
that look more like fixed, artificial masks.
The ones coming after us,
will possess sterilized emotions,
devoid of any soul.

The ones coming after us,
will even have a television
installed right in their bathrooms.
They’ll forge their friendships
through some home computer terminal.
The ones coming after us,
instead of a glass of bourbon
will drink nothing but glasses of ether.

Good grief, it’s been thirty-five years since I last caught this one on the big screen.
It was a devastating piece of cinema; I think I might actually head down to the local Madison theater just to track it down again.👍
