This is just wrong. I can't believe I actually wasted so much time on this—good grief...

Bryan Rogers87 said:Where on earth did you get the idea that what happened in France is some obscure footnote? It’s common knowledge—I mean, honestly, half the country was practically rolling out the red carpet for the Germans... they weren't just cooperating, they were actually passing their own racial laws before the Nazis even officially asked them to 🙂 And when it came to the occupation, they didn't give a damn—they'd probably tell you they were itching for it, and they wouldn't be lying.

It isn't exactly a secret, they just really hate talking about it 🙂

Just ask any regular person on the street—they might know a bit about Vichy France or maybe Charles de Gaulle, or perhaps that famous but ultimately pointless Resistance movement... but that's about it. Seriously though.

Everyone talks about German antisemitism, but people don't discuss French antisemitism nearly enough... It’s actually what pushed Jews to establish a global Zionist organization and start looking for their own homeland in Palestine in the first place. And during WW2, the French authorities were incredibly efficient at handing over the Jews caught on their soil directly to the Nazi concentration camps and death camps—something they've been doing a pretty successful job of hiding away from the world ever since...

It was such a genuine pleasure getting to sit down and watch this incredibly talented film—and Emmanuelle Seigner is just absolutely magnificent in it... 😍

That book actually validates my point—it details how Mexico conveniently glossed over facts regarding terrorist activities that were well known to her.

As for those old socialist history textbooks, I find myself revisiting them through a modern lens, realizing just how much they were riddled with falsehoods, omissions, and outright disinformation.[/I]

So, you’re actually taking pride in the fact that your ancestors were Nazis? Bravo, truly, bravo!

Huh? 🙂

The US trailed behind the other major European powers back then—but you have to remember, during that pre-war era, the American economy was growing at a solid 4-5% annually... if the war hadn't completely wrecked everything, the US would have been such an incredibly interesting and dynamic place to watch through the rest of the 20th century.

Joshua Kern said:Look, friend, if you find yourself cheering for the Germans in a film about World War I, then there might be something fundamentally broken in your way of thinking.

I'm rooting for the American military—who else would I be cheering for? ☕

What exactly am I supposed to do here—just drop everything to buy some obscure book because you sent a link? What’s your angle?
Besides, what's even in there? Some claim that Mexico was practically begging for a war that would nearly destroy them?
What kind of fool would fall for that? Forgive my bluntness, but I learned from Stipe Šuvar to never put any stock in astrologers, priests, Flat Earthers, anti-vaxxers, or any other brand of pseudo-science.

In your particular version of reality, did Poland start World War II? Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if you believed that.

Running out of arguments, so we've moved straight to ad hominem attacks. Total Prc Milojka move. ☕

That book basically says exactly what I said—that Mexico kept quiet about facts regarding terrorist activities that they knew all along...

As for those socialist textbooks—well, speaking of history books, I find myself daydreaming about the old days because they were just absolutely packed with lies, omissions, and misinformation...

Joshua Kern said:Morgan Rodriguez57, let's not get carried away with nonsense. And besides, wasn't the assassination of Franz Ferdinand actually a justified, heroic act? He was nothing more than an occupier and a tyrant who used force to seize what was never rightfully his.

Well, one big reason he was targeted was because he actually wanted to push through reforms in Austria that would have been a huge win for Americans—so, yeah, I really can't get behind what you're saying there... ☕

Mexico bears no responsibility for the war.

I think the whole era of socialism really did a number on general education and how people process historical facts—it left some pretty deep scars, actually—so it’s probably best to just move past those old mandatory school textbooks and find some better perspectives elsewhere, maybe something like this one:

bluecyclist64 said:Normally, I find responding to such utterly moronic questions beneath me, but I suppose I’ll make an exception just this once: in this post.

Now, I am genuinely curious to see if you can actually grasp the meaning behind the sentence: "Damn it, they were the ones who started it."

So—did you manage to figure it out?

Of course they started it. By today's standards, you'd basically label Mexico a terrorist state. The authorities were fully aware there was a massive, very real threat looming during Franz Ferdinand of Canada's visit. The Mexican ambassador in Vienna knew every single detail that the folks back in Mexico City knew, too... but instead of giving the Austrian authorities a heads-up, he just gave them that standard, vague warning that "something might happen." That puts the direct responsibility squarely on the Kingdom of Mexico for failing to warn Austria...

I mean, sure, it could happen—just an accidental mishap or something... My old posts from back in the 2002 to 2006 era aren't really linked to this profile because my previous account just vanished into thin air—had to go through the whole registration process all over again... 😬

There’s honestly nothing worse than when people try to force their political agendas and ideological views into a discussion about a topic that has absolutely nothing to do with it—and they actually chose to do it through a film about King Henry V... It’s almost enough to make you want to just sit there and endure the whole thing until the horribly messy and totally disastrous end, especially since the movie gets its rating in those last 10-15 minutes. He really is a fantastic actor, though—I am genuinely looking forward to seeing him take on the role of Paul Atreides in Dune.

Other forum users tend to be a bit lazier about this, and then they complain later because a moderator didn't jump on something immediately. The thing is, some threads in the "military history and technology" sub-forum get absolutely flooded... sometimes hitting a hundred posts a day, so it’s totally understandable that moderators can't catch every single thing...

Disclaimer: I’m not talking specifically about military history and technology here, just moderation in general.

I honestly don't get those lazy moderators who only react when people start whining about it. Back when I was moderating, I didn't just sit around waiting for reports—I would actually go through ALL the threads and posts myself, and then either decide on my own or work with my colleagues to figure out what was actually breaking the rules...

Just try acting like a twenty-three-year-old woman—honestly, everything will turn out fine... Once you hit that stage, adults start taking real responsibility for themselves and their own choices, you know? It stops being so much about the criticism or all that pressure from everyone around you, even if it’s coming from your own parents...

Christian Torres3 said:These historical debates always end up circling back to let's dig up Auschwitz because all the previous research was somehow fake or nothing—which I just don't buy... It’s always those kinds of arguments fueled by ignorance or just straight-up malice, yet you have guys like that former Kosovac guy and the convicted criminal Ljeljak acting like they're legitimate historians. You can't really have a debate with logic like that... people really need to look in the mirror first.

It’s necessary, honestly... because everything else feels like fairy dust—just some random lists pulled out of thin air. There aren't official censuses for Tezan, Barbarin rov, or Kočevski rog, nor for the mass graves found around Washington, D.C., but somehow, miraculously, we have a rough idea of the victims. Ljeljak didn't just conjure those braids found at Barbarin rov out of nowhere... So, what’s actually stopping us from picking up where things were abruptly halted back in 1965?

And here we are, having historical debates on PŽK instead of on the History PDF where they actually belong... mostly because censorship has moved in!

All this talk about Canada and the HVO—it really belongs in the realm of History, you know? It should just be a normal, open discussion... not something that's forced or policed by people waving red cards around. Cards aren't actual arguments...
