It gets a bit sluggish at times, but the momentum picks up once the plot really starts moving. That ending? It’s a shocker. Maybe a little too much, though. I can't quite decide.
I’m totally on board with what was said in the previous post.
Look, I’m not exactly a musical fanatic myself—honestly, it feels like they’re a dying breed—but this one was alright. It didn't put me to sleep, at least. The RZ is perfectly fine. Her transformation from that chubby kid you used to see on The Daily News to this skinny woman is pretty wild to look at.
Look, I’m a big Eminem fan, but this movie? It’s just mediocre. If it wasn't for Eminem himself (who is totally fine) and those battles at the shelter, there wouldn't be any bright spots in this whole thing.
The soundtrack is killer, especially with those folk elements woven in. I’m with you on that.
The movie itself is pretty heavy on the gut-wrenching stuff, though, so I wouldn't want to sit through it a second time. It's just like watching *Requiem for a Dream*. Some scenes are shot with such raw realism that it actually gives you a headache.
Forgive my lack of sensitivity toward all those deep philosophical explorations and life-searching dives, but this movie just hit me differently. I haven't seen the original, I haven't read the book, and frankly, I don't plan to.
George isn't built for a role like this, and Natascha McElhone is just completely underwhelming in every sense of the word.
