I’d go with options 2 and 3. Though, if I had my way, I’d probably cut the black metal from number 2.

metal: Metallica (man, I guess I should probably leave out Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath)
grunge: Alice in Chains (that's an easy one, no question)
punk: Ramones
local: SMAK

I just listened to "When I'm Gone" and man, what a track... the music is incredible, and honestly, the music video is a perfect 10. I can't really give you a deep dive critique, though... mostly because that’s pretty much all I've heard so far.

I’ve been following them since their very first album and that '97 single, Open Your Eyes, I think. I can listen to them anytime, and honestly, I own every single one of their albums. My personal favorite is probably Don't Tell Me, though I guess you could say it's their best work too.
Their latest album is actually pretty good as well. They already dropped the third single from it, Quietly. Personally, I think You Can't Stop Me was the best one.

I'm with you there. Honestly, it’s still better than the second one, which felt like the absolute bottom of the barrel for me. I guess the first one is the best, then comes the third, and then the second is trailing behind.

I’m thinking of the classics like Azra, Time, Crazy Valjak, and Dirty Kazalist.

Then there’s the newer stuff, like Cold Beer, the older Pip era, Goran Bara and Placenik, or Urban & 4...

Oh, by the way, a buddy of mine was actually raving about this band called Cooperative lately... I really should track them down and give them a listen myself.👍

Look, you guys have to admit—even my fellow rockers and metalheads can’t really claim any moral high ground in our discussions. I mean, truth be told, I absolutely hate rap with every fiber of my being. To me, it feels like there's zero artistry involved, just someone listing words without any actual improvisation or soul. But hey, some people love it. I guess it's just one of those things... to each their own, right?

Uh... just five albums...

1. Black Sabbath - Heaven and Hell
Dio's debut with Black Sabbath and definitely their best work. Iommi is absolutely shredding here, and Dio really shows why he’s the greatest metal vocalist ever on tracks like "Heaven and Hell" or "Neon Knights."

2. Judas Priest - Painkiller

I was actually torn between putting "Screaming for Vengeance" or this one, but I think I'll settle on this. Rob Halford is incredible here. Honestly, whenever I hear what he pulls off in "Between the Hammer and the Anvil"... man, I get goosebumps..

3. Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time

Heh, such a killer album. It's got some stuff people might have missed because they were focused on those weaker tracks on "Live After Death"... I mean, you've got "Alexander the Great" if you didn't know... or "Deja Vu."

4. Metallica - The Black Album

When it comes to Metallica, I love everything up through the Black Album, though "Reload" is pretty great too. I decided to go with "Black," even though I almost included "Master of Puppets," "And Justice for All," or maybe "Ride the Lightning"... but then again, when I think about "Enter Sandman," "The Unforgiven," or "Nothing Else Matters"...

So... yeah... for fifth place, you could probably slot in Blue Öyster Cult... just a fantastic album..👍

Edward Norton... I mean, he's a solid actor, and I think he definitely has what it takes to become a great character actor. He actually reminds me a bit of Colin Farrell back when he was younger. Anyway, I'm probably going to put on 25th Hour tonight and give it a watch..

Man, I feel that. It’s so annoying... especially when they won't stop lecturing you on their taste and basically try to force you to listen to whatever they're into.👎

Such a great movie... I mean, it definitely flies by fast, but you should still check it out regardless.

I mean, I feel like all those Black-led movies have this one issue where there's just way too much hip-hop influence and way too many Black characters everywhere.

Maybe this could work if you just need to kill an afternoon. It’s just a bit much with all the rap and ink flooding the screen... 👎 👎
