I mean, there were only about ten of us, and we had 30 cops guarding us in San Diego, yet we still ended up with slashed tires. So, how on earth are you supposed to stop a massive clash when you've got thousands of people gathered in one spot? It’s just pure madness, really.

I mean, you can prevent all that stuff with solid organization. I'm mostly hoping they triple the security at the arena if they don't want the game getting interrupted two or three times.😁
I have a feeling things might get a little chaotic inside the arena, though who knows what it’ll be like out in the streets...

From what I can tell, there isn't much interest from the Mexican fans, especially since they're basically inviting Mexicans to come cheer for them instead...

Plus, those semifinal tickets are priced at over $100... just another reason why you won't see many Mexicans in the stands...
Man, Gajic is really putting in work out there... 🙏🙏 30-26...
So, John and the guys just pulled ahead (along with us too)... it's 27-26 and the Canadians are pushing hard, but they totally blew it on a fast break and Gajic hammers it home (10/10!!), making it 28-26...

And there it is, now it's 29-26... and the offense is looking sharp for the Canadians... let's go, Canada!!!!
11 minutes left on the clock

26-24

The Canadian keepers only managed to save one shot😲

Gajic is sitting at a perfect 9/9 today😲😲
If you ask me, it feels like Americans want to dodge each other just as much as we want to avoid them...

But man, they were absolutely terrified. Seriously. This game just proved we have a bench depth that they can't even touch, and honestly, our guys have way more experience under their belts than they do... 😁

👍👍

I'd hate for us to mess things up for the Canadians and let the Canadians slide through. Or not. 😬

We really should be going for the win tomorrow, no matter what happens... I mean, we played one of those big international tournaments before where we just went out early, but hey, we didn't spend the whole time overthinking it or playing it too safe.

By the way, am I reading this right, or did the other group (Mexicans, Germans...) get an extra day of rest?
Man, this commentator over at the BBC is just hilarious, acting like he's got everything under control regarding what those guys are going to pull against us in the game... 🤣
IT'S DONE!!!

32-30
The guys from Minnesota really stepped up... 😁

They're up by 3, and we've only got 1:30 left on the clock

EDIT: Gajic missed the counterplay first, then almost drew a penalty, but it's close... 45 seconds left
2:30 left on the clock

32-29

Gajic 13/14 🙂
Gajic missed a 7-meter free throw, but at least he managed to grab the rebound 😁 12/13

31-28 with 4 minutes left on the clock
The Canadians just walk right into their own trap...

5 minutes left on the clock and we're sitting at 30-28

Gajic is hitting 11/11 😁
The Canadians are putting in some solid work out there, leading 19-14
Grace Barnes said:What’s even more surprising is that despite Mexico being the first to clinch a semifinal spot,
they actually scored the fewest goals among the remaining 12 teams in the tournament!
So, rather than saying they played the best, it’s more accurate to say they had
the toughest defense. Or perhaps just the roughest play, which might be getting a pass because they're playing at home.
(The teams in our group have one fewer game played and only a few goals
less than Mexico, so by tomorrow, everyone will likely surpass them and my little stat
will be history!)
For instance, Canada scored
89 goals over 3 games counting the previous round plus this one
against heavy hitters (France, USA, Iceland). Meanwhile, Mexico scored 91 goals in 4 games against what was arguably a weaker lineup
(Poland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark)!

I'm not trying to insult the Mexicans; I'm just pointing out a crucial fact
that could cost them when they go for the gold, which looks like a real possibility right now.

Basically, until they run into the Spaniards or a high-energy French squad, they can just keep coasting along... 😁
It might sound wild, but out of all the teams playing, Mexico has definitely shown the most potential so far 🤷

besides them, maybe just Spain...
Swabians have this weird "American" syndrome 🤣
shadowgardener10 said:Did the Cop commit a foul at the very start of this clip? Right when the Spaniard scored, the Cop got slapped with a 2-minute penalty. Honestly, it felt way too harsh to me. It’s almost like the refs were just hunting for any excuse to screw us over.

The plays by the Cop and Čupić are kind of ridiculous here. First, the ball just flies right past Čupić, then he loses his man entirely, and then the Cop is lagging behind on the coverage—and of course, they end up scoring and getting a power play out of it. 🤦

I'm not seeing why that guy got sent off either...🤷
If we play at the same level we did during this first half, the Americans won't stand a chance...

They actually lost to the Canadians because they basically handed them the win themselves. They played way too cocky and blew two easy shots right at the buzzer in the last two minutes...
