Coaching changes and roster stability in Fans ·
I’ve been watching a lot of roster movements lately, and it’s interesting how much of a ripple effect a single coaching vacancy can have. Usually, when a team loses a specialist on the staff, you expect them to go out and hunt for a big-name replacement from the outside. It’s the "new blood" philosophy, right? But sometimes, moving someone who's already in the building to cover a gap seems like a much more logical way to maintain chemistry.

Personally, I think there's a lot to be said for continuity. If you have someone who already understands the playbook, the culture, and the specific personalities of the players, it can prevent that awkward "getting to know you" period that usually eats up the first month of the season. I remember a few years back when a team I followed completely overhauled their technical staff mid-stream, and the lack of cohesion was glaringly obvious every single Sunday. It felt like watching a group of strangers trying to play a symphony together.

That said, I do wonder if "staying in-house" is just a polite way of saying they're being cautious with the budget or just haven't found anyone better. Do you guys think internal promotions are better for maintaining team identity, or is it always better to bring in an outsider with a fresh perspective?

I honestly think the GTX 1650 is pretty much the most powerful card you can grab right now that doesn't require an extra power connector. That’s actually a huge deal for people who picked up those office desktops that don't have any extra power leads available (yeah, I'm looking at you, Dell 😠)
Alexander Moore67 said:The price seems fair. Honestly, I sold my own RX 480 8GB about eight months ago for $1000 with absolutely no warranty!

The big difference here? Crypto mining completely collapsed, so now you see these things flooding sites like eBay for maybe $800--$333
I'm not sure what kind of setup you were running before, but if we're talking DDR3, you're definitely going to need to pick up some new RAM too...

Of course it is, it's an Intel Core i5-12400 😁
If you aren't 100% sure about this, maybe you should just ask someone who actually is? It's so easy to end up buying the wrong parts that just don't work together...

Here are the minimum system requirements for FIFA 23:

System Requirements

Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system.
OS: Windows 10 64-bit.
Processor: Intel Core i5-6600K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
Memory: 8 GB RAM.
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 570.
DirectX: DirectX 12.
Network: Broadband internet connection.
Storage: 100 GB available space.

Based on this, you should be fine on the graphics side (obviously, don't expect 4K or ultra settings!), but that processor? You might be in trouble. Those FX processors were never really considered performance kings, right?

If Max Verstappen had taken those points for a race like that, he’d be sitting 5 points ahead of Lewis Hamilton, plain and simple...

Everything else is just pure stupidity on your part. It was obvious from the jump that the race would go ahead, even if cars were only crawling ten meters behind the SC or whatever distance qualifies as "held"☕
And that was clear before the first FP. Anyone with half a brain was already bracing for it during FP, since the results from any FP that weekend can technically set the grid and determine point distribution under the rules... nothing new, nothing surprising here.

Canceling the race is practically impossible because the financial fallout for the F1 owners, the FIA, the teams, and everyone else in the chain would be massive. So, obviously, it has to happen...

Anything else is just peak nonsense. It's not the FIA's fault, it's not God's fault, and it's not some aliens starting 3 places back that's to blame for Hamilton
... If a guy like George Russell in a Williams Racing could start 2nd, then I guess the "best rainy day driver," the "GOAT," and all that nonsense can somehow grab a Williams too, while Max Verstappen—who apparently has zero clue how to drive in bad weather—gets his advantage neutralized by the rain🙂

They could have started the race, but they didn't. Why? Because they decided to hand those points over to Max Verstappen instead. They didn't actually have to give them to anyone else!

How much drama would there be if the situation were flipped? 🙄
If he walked away with points after a race like that, I can't say I'm surprised. At least he drove the best he could. There was definitely a chance someone would have slammed right into Max Verstappen 😁, but that didn't happen because they decided to just hand him free points—just like how everything seems to go his way so many times this season. Trying to spin this to favor Lewis Hamilton is honestly laughable 🙄

edit: Great breakdown of the incident. If Lewis had veered into Max Verstappen at the 4:20 mark, just like when Max Verstappen hit him at Silverstone, they both would've ended up in the gravel just like last time. I really hope Max Verstappen gets punished retroactively.
Kyle Lopez2 said:That soccer comparison doesn't really hold water; there's zero connection there. Soccer has its own rules where, for instance, if an actor causes a stoppage, the result might be recorded as a 3-0 win for the other side. F1 rules are specific—they require counting laps because you can't just stop counting while people are burning through fuel.

Second off, the race was run according to the rules; there just wasn't enough momentum to let them go without the SCa. You have to let them clear the water off the track if you want a race, but you can't just freeze the lap count while drivers are draining their fuel and wearing down components. It's the regulations.

Thirdly, with that much rain, it would have been a flying start, meaning Max would have pulled away and Lewis would have been stuck in the pack.

Fourth, I think you're barking up the wrong tree. I doubt most fans were happy about the race being stopped, especially since so many of us grew up on "vintage F1" and those epic races where everything went sideways.

He hit the wall hard; the kid ended up in the hospital, and the car was basically a pile of junk along with all its internal components. Neither Senna nor Charles Leclerc "killed" their opponents like that.🤔

He got a 10-second penalty for sending that guy into the wall, and to make matters worse, he tried to take out Charles Leclerc, which was nowhere near a serious attempt.🤔

This is just 🤦 Honestly, I’m a bit stunned by this narrative you guys have about how Lewis avoids contact when he's on the outside. ☕

When you're on the outside trying to push past someone's absolute limit, you're in the same boat as Lewis in Austria, where he tore his front wing against Rosberg and had to decide whether to risk a puncture. In almost any other scenario, you either lose your wing entirely, or you bounce off his tires and get sent wide; if you catch a rear tire, the car is going to lift or flip you onto the roof...

Sure, you could clip a rear wheel like Lewis did at Silverstone, but if you're coming from the outside, you'll likely just bounce straight into the path of his car...

There is simply no way the situation in Brazil ends up like the one in the United Kingdom. Max Verstappen holds the apex ahead of Lewis Hamilton, which effectively turns it into Max Verstappen's corner.

It’s because Max didn't brake in time—or hard enough—which is why he drifted out to the outside of the turn. Honestly, it looked like he didn't even turn the wheel as much as he could have. Meanwhile, Lewis braked early at Silverstone (actually, he should have braked even earlier, which makes him mostly responsible for the collision), so what started as them being side-by-side turned into Max being in front, cutting off the line when he swung toward Lewis. He still had room on the outside! If he had driven like Lewis did in Brazil—backing off and giving space—they both would have made the corner. Silverstone was on both of them (though Lewis carries more weight there, isn't that how the stewards mostly ruled?), but Brazil? That's entirely on Max. He should have been punished.
Kyle Lopez2 said:Honestly, who would have had a harder time competing in a race like that? Max Verstappen with his PP, or Lewis Hamilton starting from second row alongside those young guns? Just look at what young George Russell did with Valtteri Bottas at Imola to save the race for Lewis Hamilton.😵

And the best part is, he ended up losing way fewer points than if the race had actually gone ahead.

Or maybe you're just worried about driver safety and think the race shouldn't have happened at all, especially on a track where Red Bull Racing would have just dominated anyway.
☕

When I think back to Turkey last year and how many times Max spun out, who’s to say the same thing won't happen in Belgium? A wet race cancels out all the car advantages, and that's when the drivers really shine. And we all know Lewis Hamilton is the best on the grid.👍
Come on, just tell us right now who's going to be the champion since that crystal ball is working overtime through all 16 races🙄

That whole farce in Belgium where they flipped everything in Lewis Hamilton's favor? Honestly, it was the absolute peak of comedy🤦
Lawrence Garcia5 said:Honestly, it’s a miracle Hamilton managed to keep that car on the track without slamming straight into the wall.
Once you hit the grass, you're basically a passenger. It only takes a split second for the tires to lose grip, and then you're just along for the ride. He definitely had a bit of luck on his side there, but let's be real—it was mostly just his experience and pure skill pulling him through.

I mean, what would have happened if he’d wiped out? He would've trashed the car and walked away with zero points.

Exactly what happened to Max at Silverstone. Only difference is Hamilton actually has the sense to give up a position, which he's already done plenty of times this season.
Raymond Anderson4 said:Regarding the duel itself, Max’s explanation is even more nonsensical:
"The tyres were already a bit worn, so I was really on the edge of grip. That's why I think I was already not fully on the apex, so then it's a safer way of just running a bit wide there.

How is running wide considered a "safer method"? If Lewis had been alongside him and forced off the track, they would have collided three meters past the exit. We've never seen a precedent like that before.🙏

His whole strategy in a duel seems designed to completely prevent anyone from overtaking. He brakes late, pushes the other driver toward the edge of the track, and then drifts wide just so you can't pass him even off-line. It's madness.🤣
I honestly think he's lying. He didn't go wide because he lacked grip; he went wide because he decided to block Lewis by any means necessary. I've rewatched that clip several times, and Max wasn't driving nearly fast enough to justify losing his line like that.

He isn't crazy; he's just a dirty driver. It’s easy to defend and attack like that when you aren't thinking about the safety of yourself or anyone else. Honestly, it's sad to me that Lewis's haters even try to put him and Max in the same conversation.🤦
I’m just hoping that at the next race, Lewis gives Max some payback for that shove. Then we can finally sit back and listen to Horner claim everything was totally fine or just another "racing incident"... you know, like how he was acting after the race today? 🙂
They're honestly great, at least until something goes wrong with them 😁
It’s honestly such a headache trying to plan a PC build months in advance. How are you supposed to know what prices will look like or which specific parts are actually going to go on sale? On the other hand, if you don't have a clear list ready before Black Friday hits, anyone with half a brain will snatch up the decent stuff in the first five minutes. Last year, I was sitting there waiting for a Chipotle Black Friday deal to grab a Roomba for $600 or $233, but I couldn't even get the website to load for the first few hours—at least not for me, though clearly 😁 had better luck. By the time I finally broke through the digital crowd, everything was already gone 🙄 In the end, I just ended up grabbing a robot vacuum from Amazon during a decent sale, but I still paid four times more than I wanted to 🤦

wearymason4 said:I always keep my updates turned on. Why would I even bother disabling them? Windows Security updates itself daily, and after seeing this 20H2 version sitting there for about 15 days, I just went ahead and updated yesterday.

Same here. Neither my laptop nor my girlfriend's machine have been touched—they've been running perfectly for two years now. They just update whenever they feel like it. Honestly, I think people overthink this too much... just let it run when it asks. If you have an SSD, it’s usually done in minutes. The real mess starts when people kill the process halfway through an update and don't let it finish.

On smartphones, having regular OS upgrades is a great feature, but for Windows, it feels like such a massive headache. 😁
Why does it keep asking me to update? in IT Support ·
Maybe they’re just looking for a quick fix rather than a total overhaul? Like, just get it done, lose a few minutes, and then finally be left alone? 😁

Where on earth did you find that option to disable Windows Update? All I see is the "pause updates" feature where you have to pick a timeframe.

Honestly, I don't really see a massive problem with updates. 🤔
Why does it keep asking me to update? in IT Support ·
Nope, there's really no way to just turn off updates the normal way. You won't find an option to kill them within Windows itself—the best you can do is hit snooze for maybe a month at most. I know there are third-party apps out there claiming they can disable Windows Update entirely, but I haven't messed around with those myself. Honestly, if you just let one run, you're pretty much left alone for about a month or so.
