You know that specific vibe when someone picks up a shiny new synth and immediately tosses an unboxing video onto YouTube, acting all shocked by how incredible it sounds? It’s its own little subgenre, usually just labeled "unboxing." Honestly, it feels like pure, unfiltered snobbery. If I were being even more blunt, I'd call it exactly that.

Raymond Walker5 said:All that tacky stuff mostly stems from the USA, which basically pioneered the art of squeezing money out of mindless sheep. They just manufacture these fake little stars to milk them for cash as long as they can stay relevant. It’s all just a byproduct of a consumerist capitalist machine. You essentially raise a generation to be total idiots and then sell them some low-effort, zero-talent garbage. Throw in some basic human impulses—like showing off bare skin or oversexualizing every male and female star—and you’ve got a guaranteed hit.
It isn't even music at this point; it's just an industry built for churning out profit.

Another pretty dark side to it is how this kind of "music" pushes certain values, behaviors, and lifestyles onto people. I'm convinced that Madonna's "Material Girl" had a massive impact on today's generation of shopaholics who were just teenagers back then—which is easily the most impressionable time when your whole personality starts taking shape.

The way music is being dumbed down really hits the mainstream crowd that just sits there absorbing whatever’s playing on the radio or TV, but honestly, you can't really blame them. In this day and age, with the internet putting everything right at your fingertips, you aren't actually forced to endure that corporate gatekeeping bullshit, at least when it comes to what you listen to. It really just comes down to choice. Most people, though, usually just choose to follow the herd rather than finding their own lane.
How do you defeat evil and the people behind it? in Psychology ·
Betty Myers6 said:Zero. Honestly? It’s only gonna get worse from here. Just having the desire or the willpower to change isn't enough—it really isn't. Like, if people at work catch even a whiff that you're a pushover—and I mean that hypothetically, nothing personal—you're done. You'll become their favorite target for every little thing.

First off—I’m gonna lean more toward the philosophical side of things here. This isn't just some psychology deep dive, you know?

Look, there’s another side to this—because we have two genders, the way people interpret, define, and actually perceive good versus evil can take on thousands of different shapes. It's just how things work, right?

Thirdly—and I’m not even gonna get into the whole survivalist sub-problem here—because when you factor in that raw instinct to just stay alive (it's basically "me or them," right?), the line between good and evil gets pretty damn blurry.

Fourthly—look, a perfect example would be describing how things play out at some of today's workplaces. Around here, I’m basically equating evil with the concept of— Selfishness..

At work lately, people seem ready for anything—no matter how shady it is these days. We’re talking full-blown hypocrisy, blatant nepotism, and lies on top of lies. It’s wild.
Here’s the deal: someone is going to be sharing an office with you—and yeah, it’ll be fine at first. But they’re gonna try—and I mean *absolutely* try—to make sure you never feel like you actually fit in. Why? Because the boss decided you two have to share a space. Simple as that. The thing is, this person isn't even powerful enough yet—even if they got the job through some shady connection—to actually kick you out of the office. But still, you’re walking on eggshells. You never know where you stand. You try to be friendly, right? You try to build a rapport? Forget it. Anything you say in confidence just ends up being office gossip in the next cubicle over. It’s impossible to grab a coffee or just exist for eight hours a day without feeling the tension. And honestly? It gets even worse when you realize they’re low-key dumping their entire workload on you—with the manager’s blessing, no less. Then comes the kicker: you realize you’re way more competent than they are. You see exactly how much they *don't* know—and how hard they're working to hide that total incompetence—and man... it just makes you want to scream.

Look, I just feel like there’s gotta be some kind of balance—like good and evil need to exist side-by-side to make sense. But honestly? It feels like lately, that scale has tipped WAY too far toward the dark side.

P.S. Gotta run, out of time right now. I'll hit you guys up once I'm back.

That whole idea about balance hits the nail on the head. If we look at the primal, animalistic urges as "evil" and the higher, more divine impulses as "good," there has to be a middle ground because humanity is always dancing right on that line between the two. Honestly, though, I think it’s easier to just talk about positive and negative energies, since they’re really just two sides of the same coin—just different ways the force of change or evolution expresses itself.
Think about it like this: destruction might seem purely negative, but you can't build something better without clearing out the old stuff first. It's like a forest fire clearing the way for new growth; it's part of the evolutionary cycle. In that sense, the positive and negative are totally intertwined. Just a general observation.
You can apply this logic to basically anything in life, and once you see it, you realize nothing is ever 100% bad or 100% good.

I wouldn't say that negativity is actually winning right now, though. To me, it looks more like a massive shake-up—kind of like that classic American metaphor about separating the wheat from the chaff. Or, if you want to get all psychological about it, it’s like a collective purging of the subconscious. All the junk we've been hiding is finally bubbling up to the surface. Fewer and fewer people are staying in that comfortable gray area anymore. Those are the folks who try to stay neutral, maybe they'd do something wrong if they didn't fear the consequences, or maybe they've just got all this suppressed rage and trauma just waiting for an excuse to explode. And man, those excuses are popping up everywhere lately. People are swinging hard toward the extremes, so it’s easy to feel like "normal" has completely vanished.
Where this all leads? Who knows. I'm honestly pretty stoked to see how it plays out.

I honestly thought we were going to dive deep into how music messes with your head—which would’ve been a total trip to talk about—but I guess this thread is more like, "Why is everyone else such a poser compared to me?"

Look, regarding your little dilemma—there are always at least two sides to every story. What I'm trying to say is that just like you see them as complete weirdos, they probably look at you the exact same way. Like, "this guy is so stubborn he won't budge on anything." Instead of putting up a wall against people like that, it might be cooler to try and wrap your head around what actually draws them to that sound. That’s just how I’d play it. Unless, of course, they're being super obnoxious about it, but that's a whole different beast.

What kind of answers would the true mysteries provide—that hidden, sacred knowledge about sexuality and its raw power to elevate consciousness, or the surge of Kundalini energy? How do you find eternal freedom within yourself while still being stuck in a society that doesn't get it? How does a sensitive person just quietly suffer inside, constantly wondering why the world is such a mess? How do you stay an individual in a world that demands nothing but masks and uniforms?

It’s like when you accidentally give someone the green light without even realizing you've done it. You basically just signed off on the whole thing subconsciously.

Honestly, most people are just being played, and half of them are actually corrupt too. But even those guys who think they’re dirty are basically just pawns themselves—they don't even realize they've been manipulated. So, when you step back and look at the big picture, everyone is caught in the web. Even me. I mean, I'm definitely not above being influenced, but at least I haven't sold my soul yet. That's a tough line to walk these days because it feels like society starts trying to bend kids toward that path from day one. Corruption isn't just about some shady handoff under a table in a dark alleyway; that's just the tip of the iceberg. Nowadays, corruption has turned into this whole calculated science.

Just get to know yourself first, and you won't have to waste your energy stressing over it. Just don't go asking other people who you are—especially not on an internet forum. Don't even ask your own mind. Like some wise guy once said, try asking the question without using any words at all.

Buddha talked about the Middle Way, so I'm pretty sure that's the sweet spot right there. Basically, you play the game and wear the mask society handed you, but you stay grounded knowing it's just a costume. You can slip it off whenever you need to catch a breath of fresh air, or when you run into someone else who's also just loosely wearing their mask.

The topic is kind of a massive umbrella and I'm not even totally sure what the core focus is, but I was feeling pretty good today so here goes nothing.

What you’re calling spirituality is honestly just a massive waste of time. You probably think it's some kind of trendy vibe or a way to look cool, but if you ask me, it's actually the only thing worth investing in. When I talk about this stuff, I'm really talking about hitting that level of true maturity—you know, getting some actual perspective. Everything in life comes down to the lens you're looking through. It's like the difference between an eagle and a frog; that eagle sees the whole damn landscape while the frog is just stuck there. To that little frog, its tiny pond is the entire universe, but the eagle looks down and realizes it's just a small, muddy puddle in a much bigger world.
Honestly, you’d see that whole mess through a totally different lens if you just zoomed out a bit. If you could grab a higher perspective, all those little headaches would start looking pretty insignificant, and you'd probably get a much clearer picture of your next move. Trust me, trying to find that headspace isn't a waste of time at all—it's everything.
Honestly, the whole thread feels like one of those "woe is me" sob stories that nobody actually cares about, even if you’re seeing it from a different angle.

Looking at your recent posts, I’m picking up on this specific vibe you've got going—it feels like you're trying to grab everything you can without actually putting anything back into the pot, or at least giving as little as possible. It just doesn't work that way, man. Not if you're looking at the long game. It's kind of like trying to run a marathon while refusing to even drink water; eventually, you're just going to hit a wall. If you aren't willing to invest, don't be surprised when nobody's willing to hand you a twenty when you're short. $0.00Look, at the end of the day, if you aren't bringing anything unique to the table, you’re basically invisible in this market. You wander into an online spirituality forum and basically admit you just want the money without doing any of the heavy lifting, and then you go ahead and imply that spiritual growth is just a waste of time. Talk about a bold move.
Look, I’ll be the bigger person here and give you a little pointer. Why don't you head over to a subreddit for guys looking for get-rich-quick schemes and post about wanting easy money? If winning the jackpot were truly impossible, nobody would bother playing. Some people have been playing the lottery since day one. It made me realize that I need to work harder in life, though I'm still struggling to figure out where to channel my energy to actually make some real money.

They let the kids hold them while an educator went over the basics: what species they were, where they live, all that stuff. She also made sure to hammer home the most important part: if you spot a snake out in Nature, just leave it alone. Some are venomous, some aren't, but the point remains the same. The kids absolutely loved it. Honestly, if you teach kids this way—before their brains get filled up with useless crap—they won't grow up being terrified of animals. Instead, they'll just have that healthy, natural caution about not touching wildlife. Animals need to stay exactly how they are—wild and free in Nature.

Look, you’re out here trying to force your values on everyone else—I don't have some desperate need to love "pitiful people who need my affection." I don't get that. But? I do feel a drive to love wild animals. I wouldn't exactly invite them into my living room, obviously, but I'd fight tooth and nail to make sure our species doesn't wreck their habitat on Earth. Humans have overpopulated this planet to a ridiculous degree, while wildlife is shrinking by the day. We're watching beautiful species go extinct because of the mess we made, yet idiots still spend their time babbling about "evil reptilians" instead of facing reality. 😁

You’re just as terrified of wild animals as you are of wild women, mistygull16. 😁

There’s no way for a soul to evolve if it doesn't respect ALL life on Earth—it won't ascend any higher, and it sure as hell won't reach some state of Enlightenment. It'll just stay stuck right where it is, trapped inside its own tiny, human little mental cage.

He isn't out here trying to demonize reptiles as a whole species, mind you; he's specifically targeting this one group of cosmic outlaws. He lays out all his evidence regarding the whole thing throughout his books.
I still say this is just some minor subplot in the much larger story of how people get manipulated. It’s like that old saying goes: who even needs to worry about aliens or reptiles when we've already got psychopaths running the show?

So, here’s the deal. According to those wild conspiracy theories floating around, we're actually being ruled by some kind of reptilians from other planets—or maybe just different dimensions.

Personally, I’m leaning toward a different vibe. I think the world is really run by these ultra-wealthy dynasties. They play the long game, pulling strings through corrupt governments to control entire nations and their people.

Then you've got the folks who swear there are "beings of light" out there, supposedly sent to reveal all this to us...

But honestly? I suspect the elites actually cooked up those alien theories themselves. It’s a brilliant distraction—make the idea of a shadow government sound so ridiculous and naive that nobody takes them seriously.

I mean, if you ask me, things are way more intense than people realize. This whole top-tier elite group is working on a systematic plan to drain everyone's pockets, and they're getting us used to being broke every single day.

What do you guys think?

I honestly feel like the ultra-wealthy elite basically invented the whole "conspiracy theory" label just to protect themselves. When you call something a conspiracy theory, it makes it sound like people are just making stuff up for fun or trying to look smart, which is a total joke. If we were being real, the actual term should probably be MANIPULATION. Think about it like this: if you frame everything as a crazy conspiracy, it’s super easy to dismiss people as being out of touch. But if you call it what it actually is—manipulation—it becomes a lot harder to deny. It’s like how a massive corporation might spin a PR disaster to hide the truth; they aren't "conspiring," they're just managing the narrative. Any sane person can see that manipulation is happening at every level of society. Once you start looking closely, it’s not even a stretch to realize all that influence could be coming from a single central source, especially when you consider how much our entire social structure relies on a strict hierarchy. If you shift your perspective and look through that lens, this whole web of lies and half-truths starts to make sense. It’s all just a way to maintain control by micromanaging exactly what information reaches the public.

Honestly, this whole topic is perfect for that Spirituality PDF we were talking about. At its core, I feel like one of the biggest jobs spirituality has is helping us face all the lies we’ve been fed—you know, those little deceptions that eventually turn into massive illusions we live our entire lives inside. It’s really about realizing how we just went along with it and let ourselves be manipulated without even blinking an eye.

That’s honestly just a minor detail in the whole manipulation narrative. I mean, sure, it could be true, but it doesn't really change the day-to-day reality of things. What actually gets my attention is his argument that humans aren't even at the top of the food chain—now that's an interesting way to look at it.

Do the enlightened ones really have to say it out loud? Honestly, the scale of this manipulation is so massive it’s practically begging to be exposed. You can only hide the truth for so long before someone leaks the goods, one way or another. It reminds me of how people back in the day had to wrap their warnings in art just to avoid being laughed out of the room—take Tolkien's Lord of the Rings or that movie Wide-Eyed, for instance. Right now, it feels like we’re all collectively living with our eyes shut tight, and honestly, keeping us in the dark is exactly what the elite is banking on.
The Power of Money in Psychology ·
Money is honestly one of the most effective tools for social control out there, especially when you see how certain minority groups leverage it against the majority. It’s kind of wild when you think about it, because originally, the whole point was just to make exchanging 😢
a whole lot smoother. That’s just my take if I’m stepping back to look at the big picture, you know? If I’m just looking at my own life on a smaller scale, then yeah, money is basically just the thing that lets me live a little better.

Man, this music video is so heavily censored I can't even get it to play:

It just won't budge, no matter what I try 🤷
I'm honestly sitting here wondering why they're being so extra about it 😁
Buses and streetcars are packed with old ladies in Miscellaneous ·
This is such an interesting topic that I’d honestly love to bring up over drinks at a local pub, but since I don't want to start a whole new thread, I'll just jump in here. To be fair, when they're riding the subway, they actually cause the least amount of trouble. At worst, they might bump into you in the aisle, or if you're sitting down, they'll press their midsection right against you. Or you'll have a group of them standing at the station blocking the entire exit because they're so desperate to squeeze inside, and instead of making room for you, they just glare you down.
Outside of public transit, though, they become way more dangerous. When they walk down a sidewalk, they move in a way that seems specifically designed to cause maximum congestion and total chaos. It’s actually kind of fascinating to watch.
For a while, I genuinely thought they were doing it on purpose—like maybe it’s some weird way of venting frustration or something—but then it hit me that they subconsciously drift in a way that creates bottlenecks or even causes accidents whenever possible.
Here’s a perfect example: I was riding my bike along the sidewalk near Yankee Stadium. They had ripped up a strip of the pavement right down the middle to install some utility lines. I was coming up behind this lady and thinking, "Okay, this is easy; she’s strolling along on her side, I’ll just pass her on the other side, and the middle is clear since there's just that shallow trench where the asphalt was cut." But nope! At the absolute worst moment, she veered right toward my lane, and in my scramble to avoid hitting her, my tire caught the sharp edge of the dug-up pavement, sending me flying straight through a chain-link fence. And get this—she didn't even blink.
I once saw one of them force both a city bus and a semi-truck to slam on their brakes just because she decided to use her "right" to cross at the crosswalk... it was just 🙂
Those are just a few instances. Just to be clear, I'm not talking about women in general, but those old-school characters who move like they have a death wish and somehow manage to give everyone else a heart attack in the process.
