So, looking at everything since 2003:

World Championships: 1st, 2nd, 5th, 2nd, 5th
European Championships: 4th, 4th, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd
Olympic Games: 1st, 4th

On one hand, it's an incredible run—we hit 10 semifinals out of 12 competitions plus two 5th place finishes! But on the other, we only managed two golds back in 2003 and 2004.

A fan was stabbed!

Around 9:20 PM at a gas station in Rome. A van belonging to some American fans was set on fire. A few of them were injured during the brawl, and one fan is in really bad shape—he was stabbed and rushed to an Emergency Room in Chicago.

Things really kicked off with some heavy clashes back in Chicago. Around 8:00 PM on Broadway, a convoy of cars filled with American fans got pelted with stones. At the exact same time, over in a local parking lot, three cars from Indianapolis, two from Washington, D.C., and one from Little Rock were absolutely trashed—one of them even took an axe to the windshield!

This isn't just hooliganism—these are outright murder attempts.

Look, I mentioned earlier that we probably could have skipped some of those chants. But honestly, when the arena is packed with us, we don't give a damn. Then, once the game is over, everyone splits off to their own sides and suddenly women and children get caught in the crossfire, or you end up with some chaotic 20-on-3 situation on the streets.

And the police, too... It’s not like it’s hard to stop vans full of about ten bald guys with Mexico City plates driving around Chicago. But hey, whatever.

Meanwhile, the Poles are absolutely crushing the Germans. Seriously, this league has never been more competitive!

Don't get worked up; just take the suggestion. If you had started a thread in the other sports sections asking why Black players are better at basketball than White players, they would have shut it down immediately. Not because it's racist, but simply because a topic like that doesn't belong in a section dedicated to discussing sports.

I’m embarrassingly behind on my Ford viewing—I’ve barely scratched the surface with just over ten films. It's honestly not even enough to cover the basics! I did spread those dozen or so movies across westerns, dramas, and comedies, so the variety isn't terrible, but still... with 140 films in his catalog, you'd need an entire year just to catch up on Ford. 🤣

My absolute favorites have to be Stagecoach and The Grapes of Wrath.

That's quite a wide range of categories...

Looking at all those intense prison flicks (Shawshank Redemption, Stalag 17, Escape from Alcatraz, Das Experiment...), hospital or asylum settings (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Shock Corridor), schools or boarding houses (Au Revoir les Enfants, The Devil's Backbone, Scum), isolated apartments, houses, or cabins (Seventh Continent, The Thing, Key Largo, Petrified Forest, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Rondo, The Ladykillers, 13 Tzameti, Only Angels Have Wings), urban streets and neighborhoods (Do the Right Thing, The Set-Up, The Burbs), tiny isolated towns (To Kill a Mockingbird, The Last Picture Show, Noi Albinoi, Le Corbeau, The White Ribbon), even vehicles (H-8, The Lady Vanishes, Wages of Fear), and then there's Ox-Bow Incident which stays in one spot but moves outdoors, etc., etc.

Plus a whole mountain of titles already mentioned, along with ones nobody has even thought of yet! So, why don't you just pick out a few favorites and tell me a bit about them? You can if you want!😁

I don't recall anyone mentioning Wise'sThe Set-Up (1949) on this forum. Robert Ryan is simply brilliant as that classic noir protagonist; in just 73 minutes—with the action unfolding in "real time" much like High Noon—he dares to dream big, only to be painfully brought back down to earth, just like so many noir heroes before and after him.
