It's a bit of a struggle for me because—let's be honest—I am definitely not an expert at staying cool under pressure. If I have plenty of time to prep, sure, I can pull it together and look okay, but if something just hits me out of nowhere? Man, a little bit of panic starts creeping in, my hands get all shaky, and then I’m left feeling like I didn't exactly wow the person sitting across from me. I'm talking about work stuff. I recently got this sudden call for an interview—just out of the blue—and even though I think I did a decent job highlighting my skills, I’m pretty sure they clocked my nerves the second I walked through the door. My hands were shaking, no lie. And yeah, I'll admit it, I maybe took things a bit too lightly and wasn't as prepared as I should've been. But what happens when I'm actually on the job and something unexpected pops up? How do you handle that? It feels like I have this set path I walk where I feel totally confident, but the moment I have to take a sudden detour down a different street, I'm completely lost. I know, I know—it's basically just my anxiety acting up—but if anyone has some real-world experience or a way to fix this, please, hit me up! Seriously, I'm just not built for getting blindsided by stuff that comes out of nowhere. I really want to learn how to master the whole "expect the unexpected" thing.
Don't take those moments like they're life or death (even though they often feel that way)
When you're relaxed and just not overthinking things too much, you can actually be yourself way more easily😉
Joshua Patel6 said:In the past, I always deferred to logic and reason, completely ignoring my intuition and my gut feelings. I did this because I was firmly convinced that making the "right" decision required nothing more than rigorous deliberation and acting responsibly toward myself and those around me.
I essentially sacrificed my own inner needs just to do what was considered "correct." The end result was a life defined by constant anxiety, living in a state of perpetual conflict between my actual needs and my desperate urge to behave properly. For me, much of that definition of "proper behavior" was simply ingrained through my upbringing and a very heavy dose of innate personal responsibility.
Now, I am attempting to change that pattern and listen to myself more deeply, so I have begun taking practical steps in that direction.
However, that voice of pure logic keeps trying to drag me back to my old ways.
I remember being in a similar position during a job interview once. My rational mind gave me a beautiful, logical explanation of why I should take the position—that I should try, that it was expected of me, and that I effectively had no other choice. Naturally, I listened to it, assuming it knew best, while once again suppressing the intuition that was screaming at me. But that intuition grew so loud and intense that the moment I stepped into that office, I knew, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that it wasn't for me. To make matters worse, I absorbed such a toxic energy from that environment that I am still recovering from it even now. The consequence of ignoring that inner voice was insomnia, restlessness, and a profound sense of betrayal toward my own spirit.
If I could go back xyz years, I would listen to my intuition much more often; that is the wisdom I have gained through the sheer passage of time.
rustytiger35, it isn't easy to recognize that voice, let alone trust it. If you truly have a bad feeling about something, then you really ought to push your logic aside for a moment. But if you are merely feeling neutral, then give it a chance and try it out. You can always walk away and change your mind later.
I was reading somewhere that true intuition is this steady, constant vibe... it doesn't just flip-flop on you.
Because if you're feeling totally awesome one day and then completely bummed out the next... that's definitely not intuition, that's just mood swings!
Hey everyone, I can't get to every single one of you individually to reply... but seriously, thanks for all the input 🙂
To be totally honest, my gut feeling was pretty much neutral at first, but the second I felt like everyone around me was starting to "push" me toward that job, I suddenly hit this massive wall of resistance toward the whole place.
So, I decided to do a little digging today and looked up some of the business stats for the company, and yeah, they are definitely not looking great.
Now, I’m not about to let that turn into some kind of self-fulfilling prophecy, so I won't obsess over the numbers too much.
I’m really not the type of person who gets hung up on things like horoscopes, numerology, or tarot cards... I’m a believer, so none of that stuff usually moves the needle for me.
But I guess everything just lined up perfectly here (that weird synchronicity thing) which is why I started overthinking it...
We'll just have to see how it plays out.
Speaking of synchronicity though.....
Back when I was super young, I fell head over heels for this total loser who kept me in this super messy, undefined "on-again, off-again" relationship.
My intuition was absolutely screaming at me: Get out of there right now!
But I was being all romantic and delusional, thinking he’d eventually realize I was "the one" even though he actually had a girlfriend on the side.
My head was just a complete mess back then, and I spent basically my entire college life just sitting around waiting for his calls or texts (which he would send just enough to keep me on a leash).
Then, there was this graduation party for a friend, and we were out at this local bar, and I’m just standing there chatting with my girlfriends by the counter, moving around a bit... when suddenly, this guy I’ve never seen in my life walks right up to me and says, "Stop staring at that phone, he’s not going to call you... just move on."
By the time I could even process what he said, the guy had completely vanished and I never saw him again... but from that exact moment on, he never contacted me again. He didn't even send a random text about the party until years later.
I feel like I’m standing at this massive crossroads in my life right now—just clearing out all the junk, from toxic relationships to old jobs... everything is being swept away.
So, I finally decided I’m going to start actually listening to my gut, but honestly?
I have absolutely no clue how you even do that!
Is that inner voice actually my soul's deepest desire—like, what I *truly* want—or is it that blunt, annoying voice telling me things I really don't want to hear, even if they are ultimately good for me?
Something wild happened today:
I've been hunting for a new job for ages.
A few weeks back, I got an offer that sounds incredible on paper. The benefits, the pay, the vibe—it’s all top-tier. Today, I was chatting about it with my circle of friends, and everyone was totally stoked for me, basically already picturing me sitting in that office. But me? I’m just feeling... nothing. Totally neutral. But because everyone was pushing me so hard toward it today, I started getting all jittery and anxious, and suddenly I'm second-guessing every single thing about the whole deal.
Then, on my way back from grabbing coffee, I hop in my car and blast some music... and right then, the radio starts blaring: "relax, dont do it..."
Now, I gotta know—is that a total sign from the universe, or just one of those random coincidences that I should probably just ignore?🤔😲
I don't have any text to work with yet! Send over the posts you want me to transform, and I'll get right to work turning them into fresh, punchy American content while keeping that specific personality intact. Just drop the text whenever you're ready! kaže:
Hey there, my wonderful people! I’m kicking off this whole thread to act as a sort of open advice column for everyone here!🙂
So, here’s my big first question for you guys: how on earth do I stop playing these ridiculous little mind games where it's all "reach out to him," then "send him a message," then he goes totally radio silent, and then suddenly *he's* the one hitting you up—or worse, if you don't reply fast enough, he starts blowing up your phone asking why you're ignoring him! Honestly, has anyone else dealt with this kind of blatant manipulation? I was venting to my girlfriends about the whole thing, and they seriously don't see what the big deal is, which drives me absolutely crazy! They’re actually totally down to play those games because they think since you're the "new" person in the relationship, you have to prove yourself, and they're telling me that this whole hunter-versus-prey dynamic is actually super desirable and even welcomed. But seriously, is that actually necessary? Like, shouldn't genuine passion and actual chemistry be more than enough?
Oh man, let me tell you, what’s being described here is textbook manipulative behavior, plain and simple! We're talking about people who don't just pull these kinds of shady moves when they're in a relationship, either—it’s a total lifestyle for them, and they carry that toxic energy into basically everything they do in life!
Honestly, those people just drain your battery completely, and if you’re actually looking to stay healthy and keep your head on straight, you really ought to steer clear of them!
Honestly, at the end of the day, when someone actually gives a damn and is truly, deeply interested in something, all those little games and excuses just totally evaporate, you know? Like, suddenly none of that petty nonsense even matters anymore because they’re so locked in!
Kyle Vaughn8 said:We all know that one person who just can't seem to keep it clean—always leaning into the dirty jokes or coarse language, right?
What’s your take on people like that? You know, the ones who constantly push the envelope with vulgarity or constant sexual innuendos just to get a reaction out of the group?
What kind of personality does that actually point to, and how do you guys really feel when you're hanging out with them?
Why do you think some people feel this massive urge to stand out by being crude or talking about sex non-stop? 🤷
What are they actually trying to achieve there... is it just a sign of something deeper? Like, are there certain character traits that always seem to travel with that kind of behavior?
I actually have a woman in my circle like this.
She is constantly dragging in this crude, sexualized humor, interpreting everything as a double entendre, and she does it totally on purpose because she genuinely loves watching everyone else get caught off guard or feel awkward (especially people who don't even know her yet).
Total strangers would probably assume she’s living some wild, high-octane sex life, but honestly, that couldn't be further from the truth. She's got a massive mouth, but when it comes to actual action, she’s got absolutely nothing going on.
Basically, these people are just desperate for attention! They’re dealing with a super intense inferiority complex, so they try to compensate by exaggerating things that society finds a bit uncomfortable or taboo.
Look, cracking a joke about sex once in a while isn't a crime, but making it your entire personality is definitely a red flag.
William Roberts3 said:Honestly, if you could just go to a store and buy a "charisma chip" to upload into your brain, I don't think anyone would stay sane for long.
It’s just a teenage dream...
If you started attracting everyone constantly, you'd eventually have to deal with the massive weight of all that attention and actually give something back to keep it going. Once people start swarming you, it stops being fun pretty fast.
We all know how most celebrities end up anyway.
It's the same when someone tries too hard to be happy and sacrifices everything else, only to end up with zero actual peace of mind.
Maybe we really should be careful about what we wish for and what comes with it.
-How do you become that kind of person?
Can you work your way up to being that person? Not really.
There are just those moments where you suddenly shine, but even those pass. Everyone has them, and everyone will again. Who knows when or where?! Better to just let it happen naturally... The truth is, those moments don't last nearly as long as people want them to.
And honestly, that's for the best. Everything happens for a reason, even if it doesn't feel like it.
Even a literal magnet loses its pull over time—that's just how it works. It's not meant for us, so why stress out about it...
So, check this out—I had this buddy back in elementary school who was super withdrawn, you know? Like, totally full of insecurities and struggling with being overweight. I saw him throughout high school too, and honestly, nothing had changed at all.
He was basically the kind of kid where you'd barely be able to squeeze out a "hey" or a "what's up?"
Fast forward through the years, and of course, all us kids eventually moved out of the old neighborhood and grew up... and I ran into him after a huge chunk of time passed.
Man, this guy is a completely different person now! He’s still a bit on the sturdier side (even though he lost weight), but he's so outgoing and actually seems like a blast to hang out with. Seriously, the dude is unrecognizable.
We ended up adding each other on Facebook later on. He’s married now, has a kid, and there isn't a single trace left of that shy little boy from back in the day.
It really got me thinking... if he could flip a switch in his own head and transform himself from a boring kid into an interesting, engaging human being, then I truly believe you can do the exact same thing with your magnetic energy.
I honestly think it all boils down to just being chill and living in the moment.🍿
Richard Wells said:What do you have to do with building character, upbringing, and how people see you? That kind of stuff takes years to develop. It’s not just some snap decision you make overnight.
Why the heck not?
I mean, isn't it exactly like quitting smoking or kicking any other bad habit? It all comes down to your mindset and making that call in your head.
Hasn't everyone had one of those days where everything just clicks perfectly? Or even if things aren't going great, it doesn't even matter because you're feeling absolutely incredible inside?
I honestly feel like it all boils down to being totally authentic and having a mind and spirit that isn't weighed down by all that extra baggage.😉
I’ve always felt that authentic people just have this incredible aura about them.
You can have all the cash in the world, a killer reputation, a gorgeous partner, and a perfect family life... but if you're just some total pushover or a fake, you'll never have that magnetic energy that pulls people toward you.
The kind of people everyone actually wants to be around are the ones who...
- instinctively command the whole room the second they walk through the door.
- somehow get way better service from waiters or clerks just by being themselves.
- are the first names on everyone's guest list when it's time to party.
- have this vibe that just instantly relaxes and chills everyone out around them.
- don't radiate any of that nasty, bitter energy—you know, none of that jealousy, anger, or pure malice.
...
Do you think that whole "vibe" thing actually has anything to do with being authentic?
Also, I’ve really noticed that these people aren't actually trying to be mean or malicious at all.
We shouldn't go mixing up someone's "energy" with whether they're just "positive" people.
I mean, honestly, nowadays every other person walks around claiming they're a total ray of sunshine, only to turn around and trash half the room five minutes later.
To me, it's more about that certain warmth, that sense of closeness and being genuinely approachable the second you meet them. That's how I see it anyway! 🍿
Richard Wells said:It’s not really about that, though. You can't just force yourself to be positive through sheer willpower. It isn't something you can solve with a theory or a checklist of steps. It’s way more complicated than that—it's a whole mix of different personality traits all swirling together.
Some people say you're just born that way, but honestly, I don't buy that for a second...
My whole goal isn't to force myself into being happy, it's about actually learning how to 😉 because that's what I truly want
Richard Wells said:It’s not something you just become. It isn't about intellect. It's all about energy.
Wait, what do you mean it's not a mindset? 🤔
Look, let's say you and I run into each other in an elevator at a Starbucks in downtown Chicago. If I start harboring some seriously nasty thoughts about you, there is absolutely no way you wouldn't feel that vibe immediately. And that whole thought process started right inside my head!
Hey everyone! 👋
Have you ever noticed how some people just seem to "radiate" this energy that pulls everyone’s attention and attracts all the best situations toward them?
It honestly feels like good vibes just stick to them like glue sometimes.
And I’m not even talking about being a supermodel, or having a PhD, or coming from a wealthy family in Greenwich.
They could have crooked teeth, an asymmetrical face, or totally awkward legs, but they still carry themselves in such a charming way that they have this massive influence on everyone around them.
These are those unforgettable types—people who subconsciously draw others in because they just have that irresistible "it" factor that makes it impossible to say "no" to them.
There is just something about their posture, their vibe, or their body language that forces you to take notice.
They’re the kind of people you instinctively turn your head to see when they walk down a street in NYC, not necessarily because they’re gorgeous or wearing designer clothes, but because they just radiate something special.
Or even think about sales—if someone like that starts promoting a product, they’ll always end up with way more customers than anyone else.
It’s like they use their charm or their karma to make things work out perfectly for them, but it never feels forced or pushy. They are just pure optimists.
When you meet someone like that, you immediately want to be their friend or at least hang out in their orbit.
So, what do you think it is? Is it just karma, a deep understanding of human psychology, or something else entirely?
Do you know someone like this in your own circle or maybe even a neighbor who just glows and stays stuck in your mind, making you wish you hung out with them more often?
I truly feel like these people just happen to have a lot more luck on their side. 🙂
The big question is... how does someone actually become that kind of person? 🎉
