ferallynx5 said:Hey there! So, I used my Delphi card back in the day, but then I lost my job and couldn't keep up with the payments. Now, according to the system, I’m flagged as someone with bad credit. I have a checking account over at JPMorgan Chase and I was trying to get an overdraft protection limit set up, but they told me no because of my history. The weird thing is, after having the account open for a year, the bank just automatically granted me one. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of nonsense? Is there any way the bank might just bump up my overdraft limit or my installment plan for Money on its own? Thanks in advance
They didn't do it for me automatically, but I guess I just put in a request for an increase and it got approved like, a day later. You basically just head into a local branch and fill out the paperwork..
It’s just such a hassle when you're trying to move a larger chunk of cash, like my $2000 situation, I guess. You basically have to split the whole thing into three separate transfers because the daily limit is so tiny.
I wonder if that cash deposit cap of $667 per transaction is just a permanent thing, or if they eventually bump it up after you've used the bank a bit more?
1. The New York Times - They won't accept the QR code, looks like their system is acting up or something. 2. Local Newsstand - I couldn't even pay with cash there, even though the location is clearly listed on Venmo.
I wonder what kind of installment plan limit you guys actually got... I barely even touch my Chase account, and they only gave me $500. My overdraft limit is still sitting at around $1,250, I guess.
I’m spending around 10k$5.00, paying everything off in full, too. I don't touch credit or revolving stuff at all. I just run everything through my Visa, which obviously keeps things under the radar.
Just got another Walmart voucher from $47 for that Mastercard Walmart Revolving card. I guess this is pretty much the only card in the States actually worth using 😁
During those months when I actually saw a 10% bump, $20 my spending stayed pretty much flat. But then the bill from $43 showed up for a month where my usage was like, maybe 30% higher than what I usually run through.
I get my bills via email, but those vouchers show up in my mailbox. Honestly, I’m pretty curious about the actual spending criteria they use to hand these out, because seeing this many vouchers pop up in such a short window has me a little surprised, I guess.
For those of you rocking the Visa Walmart Revolving card, how often are you actually seeing those Walmart gift cards pop up and what kind of amounts are we talking about?
@Jeffrey Mitchell2 I mean, you don't really have to put your own full name on a friend's mailbox or anything. I guess it’s enough to just pop their name in the “Address Complement” field, and then the mail carrier will probably just slide the card right into the box.
It’s honestly kind of ridiculous how slow they are at processing transfers to my checking account. Like, domestic deposits take forever—probably three or four hours—and if I get something sent from Chime the night before, it doesn't even show up until late in the afternoon.
I’m guessing that interest charge just shows up in the app like any other regular transaction? If that's how it works, then they haven't actually taken anything from me yet, I guess.
