I can't help but wonder how much we've missed the mark with the way we're raised here—always putting the collective or the group above everything else, while completely ignoring the development of the individual.
Where did we lose our way, whether in the classroom or at home? It feels like we've been conditioned to suppress that natural, human instinct to push back against things that just don't make sense.
A little rebellion is actually healthy. Provided, of course, you have the right vocabulary to back it up...
So, could you tell me what actually brings you joy? What kind of things make you smile when you hear them, or see them out in the world? Surely there’s something you’re passionate about... anything at all?
There was a time when I felt like I actually had the agency to change things. To reshape the world around me. I didn't quite pull it off. Now, stepping into my 30s, the work has shifted inward... I have to change myself instead.
But there’s a certain melody to it—that sweet spot where sound meets thought—and in that rhythm, I refuse to back down...
This whole process of making peace with reality? It honestly infuriates me.
Why on earth should I be forced to bend to the circumstances we find ourselves in?
Why shouldn't I be allowed to remain an eternal rebel, provided I have a damn good reason?
Isn't it actually more soul-crushing to become compliant and apathetic than it is to stubbornly hold onto your convictions?
Who am I supposed to make amends with?
Do I reconcile with myself, or do I settle with the world?
And who is actually at fault here?
Does someone *have* to be the villain?
It’s just how it is.
I’ve never had much stomach for being herded like cattle or pushed into a mindless pack. I want to think for myself... I want what’s best for society...
But those compromises—the ones where you start accepting the very realities you used to fight tooth and nail when you were younger—that feels like a betrayal of the soul.
It’s incredibly hard to go against your own nature...
It’s a heavy weight for any man to carry mentally...

I suppose that interruption is actually the whole point. If the dream had just played out to the end, it probably would have lost its impact and felt pretty mundane...
Leaving things unfinished is what keeps the mystery alive...
Author, if you ever decide to make the trek to Tibet... that’s where our true wisdom resides. It existed long before our civilization, and it will remain long after we're gone...
What you're actually experiencing is just a chaotic cocktail of distorted perceptions and societal pressures—labels slapped on by a culture drowning in paranoia and fears rooted in pure ignorance.
The US is certainly more advanced than Pakistan, but we still have such a massive gap to bridge before we can truly claim the collective consciousness of a fully developed society...
Is the internet inherently evil?
And if so, what does that make the church?
Christian Johnson19 said:Look, I already said I don't love this job. My main fear is that all their petty drama might end up jeopardizing my position. It’s not like I can’t find work elsewhere—I know I'd just end up in the same cycle, just like my last job. But I don't want to leave. I want to deal with this. When I hear something nasty, I completely spiral. I'll be a wreck for two days, and then I finally snap out of it. Honestly, they make the exact same mistakes I do. They're late sometimes or forget a task, but because I'm wired differently (unfortunately), I don't make a scene or run to the manager just because SOMEONE missed a tiny detail. Meanwhile, others do exactly that. I genuinely don't get how people live like that.
I should mention, once every two years or so, the boss will drop a comment during a team meeting that applies to me. He won't call me out by name, but I'll know it's about me and I'll speak up. Looking back, that was a mistake. Other than that, nothing. Ever. Though I know certain people go to him and blow things way out of proportion.
The part you highlighted tells me you're a very steady person who could achieve so much more if you actually had proper support.
That's good to hear...
As for what you said about staying quiet, working hard, and nobody noticing... well, about that...
If you only have one boss and they aren't particularly great, then that's a problem. But if there are multiple managers circling the floor who can see your work, that changes things significantly.
Where else are you going to find a better employee than someone who just puts their head down and gets it done? That's exactly what both those gritty old-school firms and these raw capitalist corporations love.
They don't need answers, and neither does your boss, since he doesn't have anyone breathing down his neck threatening to replace him.
I suspect they do know you're a worker. You prove it through your actions, while others try to do it with talk. And you know the saying; it's not what is said, but who is saying it that matters.
Don't sweat it too much... Actual predators and creeps don't usually come out that candidly about their intentions...
There are times I catch myself wondering if I'm even wired that way, yet I’ve never felt any actual attraction to men.
It’s really just a glitch in the brain's wiring.
The human mind runs on habit, and sometimes you just need to hit the reset button to get back on track.
The sheer volume of pornography out there can be incredibly disorienting. We're being flooded with so much stimuli that our internal processors can't quite keep up with the data stream, leaving everything feeling muddled and confused...
It takes a bit of time to step back and actually connect the dots between cause and effect...
What was I dreaming about... I honestly can't recall. I’ve always had a terrible time retaining dreams. I might catch a glimpse of one right when I wake up, or perhaps a fragment will surface later in the day, but beyond that? It just slips away...
Christian Johnson19 said:How should I handle this? Do I give them a taste of their own medicine? Should I call them out on their BS so everyone sees it? I honestly don't know anymore. Everything feels like it's spiraling downward. There's always some new person popping up with a new grievance.
Hmm... my advice would be to try and fade into the background, though I know that’s probably the hardest thing to do right now...
Maybe start looking for their flaws. What are they actually doing wrong?
And don't view them as some unified front. They only give off that impression... they aren't actually a cohesive unit.
It’s just a crowd that will find someone else to mock if you aren't around. If it isn't you today, they'll pivot to someone else tomorrow...
Tell me, how much is this actually getting under your skin?
Is it truly impacting your day-to-day mood?
No sane person can ever truly accept themselves entirely. It’s just madness...
It is enough to simply embrace your nature without needing total self-acceptance...
We should lean into what is good, while continuing to fight against the parts of us that aren't.
As the saying goes; the hardest battle you'll ever face is the one against yourself.
And you made the right call... You know. In a lot of ways, this entire forum is just a message in a bottle. Something meant for someone, somewhere, sometime down the road...
Who actually manufactures bad people?
Family, religion, society.
Cruel characters tend to be forged in the fires of those specific environments...
Then again, some folks seem born to be nothing more than servants to others.
Only fools find happiness easy.
I haven't quite made peace with myself yet.
My goal is to dismantle my own laziness, this creeping apathy, the needless irritability, my stubbornness, and those reflexive biases. I want to shed the excess emotions, the wavering willpower, and the lack of physical coordination. I’m trying to bridge that gap between my current self and a higher state of awareness, all to better align with the fundamental laws of existence...
And please, don't go fearing perfection... you're never actually going to reach it anyway.
goldengull28 said:It’s actually the exact opposite... I’m basically trying to vent all this aggression and frustration online instead of keeping it bottled up inside.
And what does that actually accomplish?
Just ends up creating another thread identical to this one...
"You can't trust anyone these days," you say...?
That sentiment has probably been echoing through history for tens of thousands of years...
Back when man could actually put his full faith in another human being...
Do you know when that was?
Never.
It’s always been a gamble you just had to take.
That’s why religions were established—though they eventually went completely off the rails—all based on that same core idea: preventing man from becoming a wolf to his fellow man.
In the end, human nature won out...
Oh, if you only knew how ridiculous we truly are....☕
If you're asking me...
I go out for a stroll. Grab some ice water. Instead of wading through mindless nonsense, I find something actually funny to watch.
I gather my thoughts and wonder...
What would life even be if it were nothing but pure elegance and velvet? If everything were sprinkled with rose petals and smelled like a high-end boutique in Manhattan, wouldn't I eventually just grow to loathe it?
It really just comes down to balance. To measurement. There is stupidity in this world, and there is good. It’s up to us to use our own internal math to find that perfect seasoning—that little something extra to make it all make sense.
But then, how do you actually do that?
Wake up in the morning and look up at the sky... Watch the clouds drift by. Then, before you turn in for the night, look up again and find the stars...
And what will you realize?
Nothing.
There is no inherent meaning until we decide to paint the picture ourselves.
We are the ones who construct our own impressions.
Everyone carries their own set of values.
Learn how to read the signs...
I’m feeling the same way about this. It might sound a bit inconsistent if I put it this way, but whenever I’m scrolling through the news or reading comment sections on major sites, I keep running into these people who seem to be trolling just for the sake of provocation. Honestly, it’s a little unsettling—realizing just how many people I share this country with who think that kind of behavior is acceptable.
Christian Johnson19 said:I’m stuck in a job I absolutely hate, but hey, who asked me? Every time I make a tiny mistake at work, I start spiraling. I’ll be sitting there overthinking everything—wondering if I’m getting fired, what my coworkers will say, what the boss thinks, or how much gossip is going to fly around the office. My role is super niche and high-demand, so honestly, they probably won't fire me anytime soon, but the anxiety is still real. It feels like everyone at the firm is just waiting for someone to slip up so they can have something to talk about. Even though I moved to a big city like NYC, I haven't really outgrown this habit of worrying about what people think. The truth is, I make these mistakes because I'm lazy and I just can't bring myself to care about this work. Sometimes I dream about starting something totally new, but that initial spark always dies out after a few weeks. Man, this is a whole spectrum of issues. I'm struggling to handle it all. Any advice? Thanks
That’s the crux of the matter... You have to realize you're working in a deeply toxic environment—a pack of hyenas and scavengers. They circle their victims because, deep down, they’re hollowed out and rotting from the inside.
It’s a vicious cycle, but there are a few ways to handle it.
Some cases can be settled by
mors omnia salum, while others require a much more difficult decision to actually change things.
Usually, it boils down to two or three instigators who mock everyone else, and the rest just follow suit...
Once we identify those specific individuals and their rigid little hierarchies, we realize their sociopathic tendencies aren't actually all that threatening...
They’re like those decorative houseplants you keep on your windowsill; you water them constantly, but they never feel the rain or anything substantial. They exist in this sterile bubble, slowly decomposing in a very comfortable, refined way. They aren't really living. They're just dying in slow motion...
So, please, don't be afraid...The answer is hidden in the music...The answer is within you.
If you truly understand and acknowledge your own struggles, you already have the upper hand. Fear remains fear until you confront it and move past it. And even then, you'll always carry the weight of someone else's fear along the way. It's part of the baggage we're born with. If we want to travel lighter through life, we simply have to drop the unnecessary weight...
