Taking out a new loan on top of an existing one? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
boldfox15 said:I'll offer some different advice 😁 Have you tried asking at the bank directly?

Every situation is unique depending on the client (income, credit score, etc.)...
I actually tried to do the exact same thing with Wells Fargo, but they turned me down. I ended up getting it done at a different bank instead—moved my business over there and secured a loan that restructured my old debt plus gave me some extra cash on the side.

Generally, though, I think it requires a complete restructuring because the terms won't match the original deal... interest rates, monthly amounts, the years...

Thanks for the input. I’m definitely planning on hitting up the bank, I just wanted to see if this was even a realistic option to begin with.

Hey there,
So, I’ve been paying down this loan at Chase for about 36 months now—never missed a beat.
Now, I’m looking to pull an extra $5,000 out of my equity. My goal is to restructure the whole thing: basically have them cut me a check for the $5k and then stretch out the term on the entire balance so my monthly payments drop. Is that even a thing people do? Does the bank force you to close out the old loan and just start a brand new one from scratch, or is there a smoother way to handle it? Just for context, I’ve got a solid, permanent job and my income is well above average. Any insight would be appreciated.

PS.
And please, spare me the "if you make that much money, why do you even need a loan?" crowd. I don't care. Just answer the question.

Adobe Encore—honestly, such a flawless piece of software... for instance
Look, if an inspector rolls up on you and realizes you’ve already started running the business, they aren't just going to give you a slap on the wrist. They're gonna come breathing down your neck for every single receipt and software license you own. Honestly, they'll make your life a living hell until you're basically ready to throw the whole damn computer into the Atlantic.

Check out this DVDvideo software—seriously, just trust me on this one, you’re gonna love it. It handles everything from ripping music videos to downloading tracks and all that extra stuff. And the best part? It won't cost you a dime.

But honestly, she doesn't even need to worry about that... most print shops handle all the color separation for the CTP process anyway. They just RIP every single file they get. :/

BTW
this link actually answers something I've been digging for ages for a research paper I'm working on. 😁

Brenda Kim56 said:As far as I know, this is headed to a professional print shop. Honestly, I don't see any reason why anyone would just hand over an illustration with all its layers intact for no reason. When I’m working, I might be juggling 15 different layers, so I don't get why that would be necessary for the final print. I just assumed the color separations needed to be on their own specific layers. So, I was wondering if that's actually standard practice and, more importantly, how you even pull that off. But hey, maybe I totally botched my understanding here... 🙂 thanks!

BTW, I think you might have mixed things up there. If he did say to make it CMYK with layers... well, I’m just assuming—and this is just my take—that what he actually wants is a Photoshop file converted to CMYK, but one where everything stays separated in layers instead of being flattened into a single mess.

Look, it all boils down to one thing: are you sending this to a professional print shop or just hitting "print" on a local machine? If we're talking offset printing, then yeah, you need to send your files over in CMYK, and then the technician at the shop handles the rest. Basically, they run a RIP process—doing the separations, sending everything to the spooler, and eventually hitting the plates for exposure. But if you're just working with a standard digital printer, you don't need to mess around with manual separations yourself. Honestly, did you even agree to handle the separations? Because either way, it seems totally unnecessary to me. If it’s going to a professional shop, they have to run their own RIP through the plates anyway; if it's just a direct print, there's zero need. Why on earth would you be doing that yourself? :/

Just switch the image over to CMYK mode in Photoshop, then head over to Windows->Channels... and you'll be able to see all the individual channels right there.

I'm not even taking a shot at what you wrote... I'm just speaking generally here... and it’s not even about this specific topic... it's more about how you can sell people on anything and make them believe it... when really, they don't realize how simple some of these things actually are...
I wasn't talking about the actual production process at all.
...look, I make presentations for a living... but I don't touch PowerPoint; I work in Flash... creating animated stuff... and it sells like crazy... but man, it's a grind because I always try to make everything look like I'm doing it for myself... which is why I said nobody ever comes looking for a PPT deck unless they have zero clue what they're doing or how to actually charge a decent rate for it... 🙂
Alright, so why is it that as a graphic designer, I constantly run into these "geniuses" who swear up and down that a presentation is just "so simple" and that I could probably whip one up myself in no time? :'( Man... life is just a series of unfortunate events... hahaha... just kidding, mostly...hh

Do you even have a clue how the game dev process actually works??? Do you realize how many people it takes to pull this off???? Do you have any idea how long it really takes???? You need a damn workshop and tools, not just a computer, you know.

It's a real chicken and egg situation....😉

Sure, it might start out only doing one thing... but give it time and it'll eventually learn how to handle more...

Best software for printing forms? in Software ·
feralwolf12 said:Hey everyone, I could really use some help here.

So, here’s the deal: I need to find some software—or whatever works—that can handle printing out specific forms (specifically livestock transport manifests). The problem is, I can't get a decent template set up in Microsoft Excel or Word because certain fields need to be right up against the edge of the page. Since it's standard letter size, my printer just cuts everything off because it's outside the margins. It’s driving me crazy; I end up reprinting the same damn thing fifty times, and doing it by hand is definitely not cool enough for me.

If anyone has a workaround or a better way to do this, hit me up. I can send over a copy of what the manifest actually looks like so you can see what I'm dealing with.

just set the margins manually....
3D printing setups: what are you guys running? in Computer Peripherals ·
John Cook72 said:They’re used for visualization, right? Is that really such a shocker? Not everyone can just wrap their head around a 3D model or figure out how multiple models interact with each other in space.
Plus, they're used to create positive-negative patterns for casting molds. And those laser systems that sinter powder to make metal parts? They can produce final, one-off pieces too—think things like custom dental prosthetics or specialized medical implants.

👍👍😍
3D printing setups: what are you guys running? in Computer Peripherals ·
I’ve actually gotten my hands on those 3D printers myself, and yeah, okay, I get it—the tech is pretty wild. But honestly? I’m just not feeling the hype. It doesn't fascinate me one bit. I still can't wrap my head around the actual point of it all. Like, what are you even gaining by printing these tiny little plastic models? Is there a real purpose here, or am I just missing something obvious? Whatever, it doesn't really matter.☕
