...and then there's that second day of the period—when it's an absolute bloodbath (basically a Texas chainsaw massacre happening between my legs), you know? 🤣
😬

it would have looked so cute in color 😍

Since we didn't have DMs or all those fancy little wing mechanics back in the day—they really could have balanced things out so women could actually show up to public events without having to worry about some random chicken or whatever else gets in the way 🤣

What are you guys even whining about? It was purely for hygiene reasons—I mean, things leak and they smell... honestly, with the pads they make nowadays, you don't even need to deal with that anymore 🧐 😁 🤣

@Hannah Morris3

I honestly feel like awareness is just the starting line—it's a prerequisite, nothing more. Knowing there’s a problem isn't the same thing as actually fixing it. It’s one thing to realize your ego acts like a pair of tinted glasses distorting everything you see—that's the realization part—but actually taking those glasses off? That's a whole different ballgame. I've realized I'm wearing them, and now my goal is to get rid of them. Awareness is an intellectual exercise, whereas true awakening is the actual, final realization. This is exactly why you see people who consider themselves "aware" acting like they're enlightened when they've really only just taken the first step 😉

To give you some context on why I'm so certain about this, I'll shoot you a DM with my own personal epiphany—it's probably a bit too private for a public forum... 🙂

spirituality isn't something you develop—it's more like an awakening...

I wouldn't even go as far as calling it an awakening—it's just becoming aware.

Well, that works too—😉

Spirituality isn't something you build—it’s something you wake up to. We already have it inside us—we're just buried under layers of illusion. Once those layers—all that junk obscuring our true nature (sat, cit, ananda)—are stripped away, the real stuff manifests. It's all about purifying your existence. 🧐

There are tons of ways to look at it—like how we're basically beggars sitting on the same old crate our whole lives, begging for scraps. A guru is just the person who tells you to actually look inside that crate—only to realize it's stuffed with cash. 😲
Or think about that story where a sculptor carves perfect elephants out of stone. Some king sees them and asks, "How do you do that?" and the guy just says, "It's easy—I just chip away everything that isn't an elephant." 🤣
🙂

... it's like waking up from a dream because your alarm goes off—kind of like how the vibration of a mantra from a teacher wakes us up from this dream of maya. 😍

I'm not even talking about you—just speaking generally...
😉

If you want me to be blunt, here it is—

Yoga practice is all about building strength on every level—which naturally leads to more confidence (and actual guts) along with mental peace and fulfillment. Anyone who's actually walking this path and staying consistent can tell you that—it’s definitely not just some abstract theory... 🙂

Some people are constantly running away from everything—thinking they’re being "detached"—but honestly? Their own minds are just pulling them in circles. Real detachment is an internal state; everything else is just a fairy tale. Sure, if your environment is toxic, you should get out. But I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about actually facing life's mess and dealing with it. It’s easy to just bolt for the woods, but look at the Bhagavad Gita. Krishna didn't tell Arjuna to go hide in the forest to meditate—he told him to stand up and fight 😉

As long as there's still this massive urge for sensory pleasure, running off into isolation and trying to suppress those desires is a huge mistake. You have to stay right here in the world and slowly transcend those experiences through Karma Yoga. Once we actually get bored of "sensory indulgence," then we'll be ready for isolation. Until then? No way. You'll just end up losing your mind even more.

It really just comes down to a lack of life experience—that's all there is to it. You don't need any mantras, intense spiritual practices, or endless questioning to fix it. You just need time for things to finally click...

I’m not talking about that kind of bravado. I mean the courage required to show your weaknesses to others—even if it makes you look foolish—or the strength to hold your ground when you know it might hurt the people you love. Most importantly, I'm talking about the guts it takes to step out of your comfort zone and just deal with whatever happens next.

The forums have taught me that some personal stuff shouldn't be shared here—people totally misinterpret things and I end up feeling like an idiot... so I won't go there 😉

That isn't courage, it's just being reckless. Don't cast pearls before swine😉. You should only give people what they can actually handle.

That isn't strength, it's weakness... true strength is doing the same thing without hurting anyone... "don't cut with the truth like a knife." There are always two ways to handle it.

What matters is internal surrender, not some fake external version. You need to be where you are—you can't run away because you can't escape yourself. That's the real issue—it's you, not your circumstances.😉 Change yourself and everything around you changes automatically, no matter where you are.

You could travel to the other side of the country... meditate in some cave... what's the point if your problems are traveling right along with you?😉

Hannah Morris3 said:So, how exactly does one learn courage?

When you meditate—you really start to realize your consciousness can exist totally separate from your body😉--
then nothing really scares you anymore.🙂

How do we find God? in Spirituality ·
John Johnson22 said:...well, that's just what people who are mistaken tend to say, I guess.

Look, everyone is responsible for their own actions—period. It’s not about God, it's just the law of cause and effect. Thinking Jesus died for your sins is like thinking you can get full just because someone else ate dinner for you. What matters is actually following what Jesus taught—thinking He'll just swoop in and do the work for us is a huge mistake. He's here to guide us, not to be used as a get-out-of-jail-free card so we can live however we want and expect Him to bail us out of our own messes. That kind of selfish mindset just doesn't hold up. You have to carry your own cross and deal with your own sin 😉 ... not literally, obviously 🤣

I haven't even been given kriya yet—my teacher doesn't just hand it out like candy...
you have to spend a few years working on the mantra and living a true yogic lifestyle before you get to 😉

plus, I only have one brain... I really don't feel like frying it just for the hell of it—especially if I have to pay for the privilege. No thanks. 🙂

Nancy Thompson3 said:If you take away the part about him "reading a lot of books," this sounds exactly like someone I know personally. Sure, his name isn't Stanislav, but he has that same exact tendency to play games with 20-somethings, especially young women.

As for initiations... honestly, just forget about it. Who exactly is going to initiate you? Who on earth is high enough up there to actually hold the keys to initiation?
Do your own work, maybe join some groups, but stay far away from those ridiculous, hierarchical spiritual structures. None of them are actual teachers. Just view them as people you happened to cross paths with, and you'll be fine. But if you let them get too close, you're going to end up lost on the side roads of their egos (and those roads usually lead straight to bedrooms, or awkward workshops, or some basement apartment, etc.).

You're basically acting like a teacher yourself by giving out instructions, so don't go complaining without reason😉
