Kegel exercises / Kegel muscles in Women's Health ·
Well, here I am, unfortunately joining this discussion. My bladder issues started after childbirth, but it’s only hitting me now, two and a half months later. Everything seemed perfectly fine during my first checkup.

Ginićka’s initial advice was basically to grab a support belt and stop lifting anything heavy. I didn't actually ask her about the logistics—because, newsflash, you have to lift a baby—but I suppose I should keep it to an absolute minimum. I did ask about Kegel exercises, and she said a little bit is okay. Honestly, I thought those were supposed to be the holy grail of recovery. 🤷
jadebadger78, how are things going on your end? I was thinking about picking up one of those pelvic weights myself, but I haven't the slightest clue how they actually work. Is there any kind of instruction manual included with them?
Dealing with hemorrhoids – any advice? in Health ·
Just wanted to drop a note and say St. John's Wort oil actually worked for me. I’m thinking about packing some in my bag for when I head to the hospital after giving birth!
Dealing with hemorrhoids – any advice? in Health ·
I need some help and advice.

I am currently 35 weeks pregnant, and a painful, swollen lump about the size of a hazelnut has appeared near my anus. My stools are soft, and I don't experience pain or bleeding during bowel movements. However, otherwise, the pain is intense—so much so that I’m mostly stuck lying down. For context, my diet is generally quite healthy.

Are these hemorrhoids?
Is it possible they were caused by the pressure from the baby? If that's the case, can I expect any relief from ointments like Hemopropin or oils like Hemo-ex?
Is it better to stay lying down or should I try to move around?

Thanks!

Here is a little encouragement for Kimberly Robinson2 🙂
I was also raised by a mother who pinched every single penny. I spent a lot of time feeling like the odd one out because she refused to pay for things like school insurance or Red Cross dues. I went everywhere my peers went, but I did it with zero pocket money. I didn't eat out or buy the stuff other kids could easily afford. Honestly, those moments were awkward and pretty rough. But looking back? I don't hold it against her at all. Now that I’m an adult, I get it. Money vanishes in a heartbeat. You learn quickly that you have to be smart about where you put it and what is actually worth the cost. 😉
If a UPS driver shows up at my door to drop off a package, and they're charging me $1.75 for the delivery, can I just politely tell them I’d rather swing by the local post office instead? I’d much rather skip those $1.75 fees, especially since the branch is practically right around the corner from me.

What really gets to me is this constant underlying anxiety—this mental loop of "what if" and "how to," just trying to ensure everything goes smoothly. It’s the physical toll, too; the struggle of bending over to handle the million little tasks I used to do without a second thought, having to watch my step in ways I never had to before, the insomnia, the inability to get comfortable... it's a lot.
But there are only two months left until the baby arrives. 😍

Honestly, I’ve been feeling the exact same way lately. It’s exhausting. I’m getting tired of my own neuroses. I just can't deal with the constant worry anymore—that persistent tightness in my chest, the sharp stabs of anxiety. It's relentless. 😢
Sanitary pads vs. tampons: What are your favorites? in Women's Health ·
For me, nothing beats Lady Gaga cotton pads.

They're soft, they have wings, and they aren't bulky or diaper-like. 👍
