I’m looking for someone from the Midwest—maybe somewhere around Chicago or maybe even the Great Lakes area—to just hang out with. I'm talking about hitting the town, grabbing drinks, going for long walks, or even heading out into the woods to forage for mushrooms😁. Basically, just someone to talk shop about absolutely everything under the sun. Looking for people roughly between 23 and 40. I recently hit my 33rd birthday myself. 🙂
So, tell me, Rebecca Rivera3, do you actually hang out with anyone around here?
I mean, maybe if you could find some women with similar vibes, you could actually support each other—you know, like, having an actual face-to-face conversation for once.
Yeah, you’re spot on there. I mean, you hit the nail on the head. My only real gripe—and this might be a bit of a reach, but hear me out—is how they lump minor scratches in with actual injuries. It feels a little ridiculous, honestly, treating a surface scratch with the same weight as, say, a broken bone or something actually serious.
Thanks for getting back to me on this!
I mean, I honestly thought filing an appeal made sense, especially since they went ahead and slapped me with the absolute maximum penalty possible.
So, I ended up pulling off the curb a little too sharply and managed to scrape my arm pretty badly, not to mention the damage to my car—all while being completely sober, with zero other cars involved, and without hitting anyone else's property.
I mean, I was expecting a ticket $167 for the traffic violation itself, but they went ahead and tacked on extra charges for $333 regarding the damage to my own vehicle and $333 for minor injuries. No one actually called 911 or anything, but since a patrol car happened to be cruising by, they picked me up just to be safe.
Basically, if I settle this within eight days, it’ll be two-thirds of the total, so roughly $567. But then again, if I decide to fight it and file an appeal, there’s always that chance they reject it, leaving me stuck paying the full $833 plus another $33 in court costs.
I’m divorced, currently unemployed, and I've got two kids to look after—my ex isn't even helping out with child support. Do you think any of that would actually matter to a judge in a municipal court when it comes to cutting the fine in half? Like, could those two chunks of $333 somehow get knocked down to $500?
Social meetup happening in Manhattan, New York City, on January 26th, 2018. We’ll have some classic American rock blasting from 10 PM until about 2 AM. Plan to swing by around 8 PM if you want to grab a drink or maybe get a game of pool in first.
I'm looking for a friend or a friend to chat with online—maybe even grab a coffee or go for a walk if you aren't living a million miles away from me.
To be totally honest, I’ve been feeling pretty low lately and realized I don't really have anyone to talk to. So, if you're going through something similar, please feel free to reach out.
By nature, I'm definitely more of an introvert.
Male, 32, living in the Midwest.
I’m officially calling it quits on trying to get my account unbanned. I’ve wasted enough time on this nonsense. Honestly, what a joke. Thanks for nothing, I guess.
Honestly, just go ahead and ban me already. I’m basically asking you to pull the plug so I can never post on this forum ever again. Thanks!

Honestly, I feel the same way about needing an appointment; I’ll probably end up showing up just like you and waiting until they're finally available around the 9th too.
But seriously, if things are actually hitting the fan, don't wait—just head to the ER.
Hey everyone!
So, I’m a 31-year-old guy living up in the Pacific Northwest. I’m really just looking for someone a bit more chill and low-key—someone who enjoys typing out messages, maybe grabbing a coffee to talk in person, or just going for a walk. If we actually vibe, I’m totally open to a real friendship.
To be honest, I don't have any official diagnosis or anything, but I am pretty socially awkward. I’d even go as far as saying I deal with some anxiety, so if you're the type of person who is constantly restless or lives life at a hundred miles an hour, you probably shouldn't bother reaching out because we almost certainly won't click.
Apple is the closest major hub to me, but I wouldn't mind someone from Portland, Seattle, or even further out. Just a heads-up though—if you’re way across the country, we’ll probably have to stick to messaging since meeting up in person would be a bit much.
Andrew Doyle said:Picture this: in some sleepy little coastal town along the Pacific waterfront, a local politician was strolling down the boardwalk one afternoon. He was doing his usual routine—strutting with that self-important air, clutching his briefing folders like they were sacred texts. Suddenly, he gets intercepted by a local nutcase who looks him dead in the eye and says, "You know, I feel exactly the same way whenever I miss my medication."
Heh, that’s pretty funny, actually, though there's definitely a grain of truth buried in there. As much as people love to pretend being a politician is just a cushy ride, most of them are living under this crushing psychological weight. A lot of it is self-inflicted, too—you make certain choices and take certain actions, and eventually, that conscience starts gnawing at you. I doubt they’re nearly as composed as they try to look during those televised press conferences.
I’m actually going to push back against what the last two people said here—I personally prefer things when they move at a slower, more deliberate pace. When everything is constantly being rushed, it just feels frantic and tense, which is the exact opposite of relaxing.
Maybe it’s because I’m a Water sign in my horoscope and those types are naturally phlegmatic by nature; speed isn't exactly their middle name. Even though I've always been one of the faster workers whenever I've had a job, there are definitely certain things in life that shouldn't be rushed.

I’ve noticed that people in my orbit, including family and lifelong friends, hold a completely distorted view of who I actually am. It feels as though they are constantly trying to foist some sort of emotional burden onto my shoulders, a weight that simply doesn't exist because I discarded it long ago. They fail to grasp my fundamental operating principles; to me, the four concepts mentioned in the title are non-existent.
I recall a trivial example from perhaps fifteen years ago. For instance, if a girl I was interested in rejects me, and shortly after, I spot her at a Starbucks intentionally flirting with some guy just to catch my eye... I don't find such situations taxing or even impactful. I simply move past it, disregard the situation, cut ties with that person, and act as if I saw nothing at all. Furthermore, if a friend or acquaintance buys a brand new Tesla while I'm still struggling to land a job, everyone assumes I'm nursing some jealousy. Of course I'm not; I genuinely want him to have the best possible car... and maybe he can give me a ride once in a while.
The question remains: how can I convince people of this reality? How do I explain to them that these matters truly do not affect me? 😵🙂
Thanks for reading!
If you ask me, when things don't actually affect someone, they don't give those things a second thought; there's just no reason to go shouting about them from the rooftops if there isn't any anxiety or discomfort bubbling up inside. But when something *does* get under someone's skin, it’s the exact opposite—it starts gnawing at them because it feels personal, and that's when people start asking questions, either to themselves or to everyone else, just trying to offload some of that internal tension by seeing what everyone else thinks.
