Joseph Taylor11 said:Do you honestly think those "checkpoints" stay in the exact same spot every single day?🤔

I have at least two different ways to get to every town nearby... it's wild. You just need to figure out where they're sitting, bypass them, and go. Then the police realize what's happening and move the checkpoint—so you just find another way around... eventually, they cover all the routes (assuming they actually have enough officers to do it...).

Honestly, I should have seen this coming. It was bound to stop working soon... ☕

Look, I don't know about all that, but since Žrnovnica falls under the Split municipality, my only concern is getting a green light
at the Strožanac intersection heading toward Žrnovnica.
I'm wondering if you can actually make it from Split to Žrnovnica without hitting a checkpoint.
Where exactly is that control point located on the highway heading toward Omiš?

Don't go ruining the vibe right now. That's just how things work in tiny little Canada.

They’re basically running a relay race from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad.

The government over in Canada just banned Dan Mladost
They’re claiming you can't celebrate totalitarian regimes in Canada. Period.

Lisa Patel4 said:The only question worth asking is this: Are Californians actually ready to shed blood for independence? Are they prepared to die, dig trenches, and endure total devastation? If they aren't, then their independence is nothing more than a postcard fantasy.

Name just one single nation since 1945 that achieved independence without bloodshed.

There hasn't been an answer, and frankly, I don't expect one ever will come.

Look, you can't seriously expect an answer as to why there's no intervention in Mexico.
Who's crazy enough to go in on a massive country like that when it's right on your doorstep? Who's going to pick a fight with China?
The US went into Iraq because the opposition held the majority back then.
Those are just the side notes, but they're huge.
brightjackal7 said:I can already hear you claiming Americans went into Iraq just for the oil. How predictably cliché!

Nah, they just went for a little picnic. A little field trip.
Richard Wilson4 said:Look, ignoring the fact that Iraq was basically a one-party dictatorship where 60% were Shia and 205 Kurds had zero rights.
In that country, you had a tiny 20% Arab minority running everything. Honestly, it’s pretty creepy if you think about it.

Any multi-ethnic society needs a federal structure to function, and Iraq is no exception.
The only group that actually got autonomy was the Kurds, while the Shiites and Sunnis are stuck splitting something similar to the Federation of Canada.
Until those lines are clearly drawn, peace and democracy aren't happening. It’s the exact same mess we deal with in Canada.
And honestly, considering this is happening right on the doorstep of Europe, you can't really expect much from
Iraq. The USA just doesn't have any fair way to measure this.
Frank Moore4 said:If you ask me, out of everyone on this list, I’d love to see us take down that absolute loose cannon Hugo Chavez first. Honestly, Stallone and his crew already showed us exactly how to handle guys like him in The Expendables. 😬

I mean, Chavez controls a chunk of the world's oil supply, so it wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Jonathan Bishop3 said:Those Islamist dictatorships are basically just puppets for Hezbollah. It’s going to be a massive problem. Hezbollah is essentially the core 😁 when you look at where they actually come from regarding Islam—I mean that original, fundamentalist version.

The intro writer messed up by saying 'against Hezbollah's weapons,'
but everything else was spot on.
Adam Collins4 said:Trying to play defense against the French is basically a suicide mission unless we actually have a defense that can rival theirs... which we don't...

If we try to run that setup, we’ll just end up spreading ourselves too thin. Plus, let's face it, their guys are monsters when they drive to the hoop...

Especially Karabatić and Abalo...

They aren't better than us on the wings, and they definitely don't own the line,
but honestly? They seem stronger than us on the perimeter and in one-on-one matchups.
As for the goalies, it's a wash—Mirko has really stepped his game up lately.
Tomorrow might just mark the start of a whole new era for handball history.
Basically, the US could end up being the youngest team ever to become the European Champion.
Watching the French take on the Icelanders, I’m thinking we’re gonna
need more than just Karabatić—we might need some heavy artillery on the wings too, because
Guigou and Jola were right there behind him, both hitting six goals for France.
Melissa Price6 said:Even without Peter Metlicic, Spoljaric, or the rest of the crew... we still pulled off a spot in the finals.
Pessimists. You guys are way too negative. ☕

And even without Lackovic 😁
plus Duvnjak pulled through at the very last second.
Adam Collins4 said:My bad...

Bronze at 3 PM, finals at 5 PM...

Total crap. If it were at 8 PM,
we'd actually have three extra hours to chill.
Some sad Frenchmen 🤦
We probably would've been better off losing.
We’re basically just keeping them around so we don't screw up and actually make some money,
like getting hit with a service outage or even a double blackout.
American Communism! in World ·
velvetmaker3 said:What Americans are doing right now isn't Communism. The government is stepping in because things have reached an alarming level, and once the crisis settles down, everything will just go back to normal.
And honestly, I think that's perfectly fine. I don't see any reason why the state shouldn't try to mitigate the damage if they actually have the ability to do so.
This has absolutely nothing to do with Communism.

velvetmaker3
The government steps in to prevent a total collapse in living standards. This isn't some crisis like you'd see in the
Ivory Coast. Nobody cares about the crisis over there; it's always a mess.
But the core issue tells you everything.
When people stop being able to pay off the massive loans used to fund their lifestyles—basically paying for today with tomorrow's money
—creditors lose their shirts, banks collapse, and then the state has to take them over. That's just how a social welfare state works.

That's exactly what's laid out in the Communist Manifesto, which is probably why people call this "American Communism."
In reality, this isn't some grand ideological shift toward ideology; it's just a pure circular process.
William Roberts2 said:Will there be a broadcast for the USA-Italy game?

Of course they will,
they broadcast every single USA game.

I heard that over in Mexico, they only showed
one game, "Mexico-Russia."
