Is there a central spot in every dorm where you can pick up mail? I mean, if we're talking packages, would that be the mailroom or something, since they obviously won't fit in those tiny little little cubbies? I'm assuming I should just put the dorm name, the building, and my room number on the address... I’m asking because some girl told me I wouldn't be able to receive anything except actual letters. Is that true?😕
I honestly don't think you guys can get anything done at this point, unfortunately. I'd much rather just pay for my own referral or package myself—even when the customer expects me to cover it—just because of how things have been going lately...👎
I actually sent her that exact reply right before you did. But she’s out here acting like she can just dictate terms because she sells her own stuff too (she’s got an album out, too).🤣If she’d just been upfront and asked for a discount, I would’ve happily covered the shipping myself. But this? Not happening.👎 Whatever, thanks Elizabeth Brown90!😉
...First I'm hearing this, so I figured I'd check here. A girl I'm seeing wants me to ship her some shoes in a box, but she says USPS $2.00 won't take it. She's insisting I just use a small box like the one she uses to send stuff. Has anyone actually tried doing that? Is that even doable?🤔
Kate Foster13 said:they charged her extra for $1.75 packaging. they still need to tie it together with twine since we pay for the twine $1.75.
Are you kidding me? They actually charged you for a few inches of twine $1.75?😲 The guys at my local service counter always insist the package be one solid color—like that brown craft paper you used—and they demand twine so the clerk can actually carry the thing. (You mentioned they don't offer delivery anymore? Then why bother tying it all up?)🤣 Anyway, Kate Foster13, edit your post if you can.😉

Exactly.🙏 Since they’ve basically gutted their workload, they should probably drop the USPS rates to match.
Yeah, honestly, it would be pretty decent if ExxonMobil just covered the cost of sending things back to the sender and then re-shipping them out of pure politeness. But how do we actually make that happen? 🤷 I mean, if anyone actually manages to pull that off, please, do us all a favor and share the secret. 😉 Until then, when you get a notification that something has been sent, just toss in the tracking number and a little note suggesting they check with the local post office in a few days. 👎
Yeah, it’s becoming a pattern at this point. I honestly don't get why they can't just leave the slip. Like I mentioned before, if you want to avoid having your package sent back and getting hit with extra shipping fees, just head down to the local post office about five days after it was sent—especially if there's no note left and nothing on your doorstep. They’ll have it sitting there waiting for you, which lets the USPS dodge any responsibility. Meanwhile, the person who was too slow to pick it up gets stuck in limbo, just sitting at home waiting for a notification that never comes. It’s a joke. 👎 Honestly, all sellers should just be upfront about delivery windows so the buyer actually knows what to expect. That would solve most of these headaches. 👍
It really depends on where you live and which USPS branch you’re using. Sometimes those yellow slips just... vanish. They don't always make it to your door. But look, if you let them know when you sent it, they'll know the package is supposed to arrive within three or four days. If it hasn't shown up by then—and you've already provided the tracking number from your receipt—they should just head down to the post office with their ID. Almost every single time, the package is just sitting there waiting for them. They can pick it up right then and there. Just a heads up though: if they wait too long and don't show up within five days, the whole thing gets sent back.
She finally paid up, but she gave me such a hard time at first, insisting there was no package to be found. I ended up filing a pointless claim because she claimed she "didn't have time" to swing by the post office—which makes zero sense if she was buying stuff online in the first place. Turns out, the package was just sitting there at her local branch waiting for her this whole time.🙄 I don't need any of that nonsense; she can just keep the HP.😉
The amount they’re asking for on this yellow slip is double what I already paid for shipping. Honestly, I don't even want to pick up the package at this point. If the mail carrier had actually hand-delivered this to my door, he probably would've tried to squeeze an extra $1.75 out of me too. Just a complete waste of time.👎
So, why am I being charged twice? I already paid the shipping when I sent it, but now that the package is bouncing back to me, they’re telling me I owe two more fees? Like, shouldn't it just be one standard postage charge again? How on earth did they calculate this as three separate charges?😕
So, I’m stuck wondering what happens when you do everything by the book—send the tracking number, provide the shipping confirmation, the whole nine yards—but the buyer just ignores it. She didn't pick up the package at the FedEx station within the timeframe because she "didn't get there in time," or whatever. No explanation, nothing. Now the package is being sent back to me, and I’m looking at paying double the shipping costs, which actually ends up costing more than the item itself.👎 To make matters worse, she isn't interested in having it resent. What am I supposed to do if I just don't claim the return? Honestly, why should I be the one taking a massive financial hit just because someone else couldn't be bothered to check their mail? 🤷
I’d honestly suggest just sending everything as a package. I once sent some thin little shorts via tracked shipping and it cost me $4.25, but the whole thing arrived on August 13th. There isn't much difference in price when you're checking out, so you might as well go with the package option. Unless, of course, the buyer is being weirdly specific about wanting a standard envelope.
I think I asked about this last year, but the USPS rates have been all over the place lately. Is shipping a standard package—not using FedEx—to Canada still roughly $40? I’ve sent some stuff through the mail before, but I can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone. Thanks.🙂
