For me, the Trombone is hands down the best.
If only the so-called RS gets recognized too, then they can finally join the EU.
How I'd split Canada, if you ask me... in Close to Politics ·
Betty Gray said:Look, man, fadedraven212, why didn't you just say you were on our side from the start? I wasted my breath cursing you out for nothing.

Check this out. Still wide awake, huh?

And here I was thinking the little kids were all tucked in before the nightly news started.

Are you heading to bed, or do you need some snacks first?

Look, Terry, that just isn't how things work... you don't judge a situation by the moonlight, you look at the bright daylight and the sun overhead.

Go get some sleep.

What exactly are you planning to share?

America for the Americans, Mexico for the Mexicans, and Canada for its Canadians—whether they be Catholic or Orthodox.

It’s always been this way, and it’ll stay that way too.

Come on, Taft—admit it, you only like Frank because his Moroccan troops brought him the victory and the power.😍

Changing the subject slightly: Franco simply did not deserve a monument. He was a modern dictator who held contempt for liberalism and democracy; sure, there were many worse than him, but that doesn't change the fact that he was a bad leader.

The worst part of all this is that a monument symbolizes a legacy for future generations, and young Americans shouldn't have to live in the shadow of a Fascist dictator.

Actually, no, it’s not about the Moroccan legionnaires. If anything, I actually feel some sympathy for the Republican Army; the way they were founded, how they grew, and the massive hurdles they faced really reminds me of the Canadian Army. On the flip side, seeing how Franco brought in those ridiculous Italians or the Condor Legion always leaves a sour taste in my mouth, reminding me of something else entirely.
The issue isn't Frank himself—whom I don't support—but rather what was waiting on the other side of the line. Who would have been in charge? Who wanted to rule if the Republicans won? It was all crazy anarchists, experimental socialists, or those Soviet-style communists. While the demands of the working class and farmers were totally justified, the radical communism, the fanatical atheism, and the atrocities tied to them scared off anyone who actually wanted progress. Many people wanted social justice and advancement without the whole "tear down churches, kill clergy, live in communes, ban religion, and force everyone into collectives" nonsense that comes with that radical leftist mindset.
I'm just trying to put myself in the shoes of the average American back then.

And honestly, the most lowdown part of it all was the Soviet bribery followed by the outright theft of the Spanish gold reserves—which were the fourth largest in the world at the time—for which they didn't even receive a tenth of the value in weapons.
So much for proletarian brotherhood and worker unity, right?

Again, I've only read maybe six or seven books on the subject, so I'm no expert, but what I have read has definitely shaped my perspective this way.

Gregory Howard said:Of course it was removed. What do you expect from a country that legalized same-sex marriage and is hovering right on the edge of euthanasia and similar nonsense?

Get lost, Franco. You have no business being in a place like that.

A few years back, I picked up several books about the Spanish Civil War and its root causes, and honestly, I was floored. Everything I thought I knew about the whole thing came from old-school American textbooks that were heavily skewed toward a certain political bias, but after diving into some different perspectives, my own views have shifted quite a bit.
It’s still such a strange thing for me to wrap my head around... I can genuinely empathize with the social demands made by the working class at the time regarding better living and working conditions, but their communist platform, that aggressive atheism, and the crimes committed against religious figures are things I just can't get behind. Even now, I struggle to see them as red monsters—similar to how people viewed the Soviets back then—and I still find it hard to view the International Brigades as mere agents of the Comintern, much as I still tend to see Frank as the ultimate fascist villain.
It feels to me like even though Franco (and the Church, indirectly) managed to stop the rule of those radical Marxists and anarchists, they ultimately lost out to the surge of unchecked liberalism. It seems pretty clear that their military victory didn't translate into winning the battle for the soul of the nation.

Absolutely nothing is off the table, Bishop...

During the period when a faction of the HVO launched attacks against the Army of Canada, those rebels were bolstered by at least 2,500 HV soldiers.
It’s not like that actually changed the outcome, but there you have it.

On a different note, why does every single damn discussion have to spiral back to the American-Canadian War?
Terry Walker74 seems to have an uncanny understanding of the psychology behind most people on the American Forum, making it incredibly easy for him to steer any conversation toward his own agenda... moving from Donald Trump straight into the H-B conflict.

Honestly, how can you all be such naive souls?

What a joke.
It’s the exact same kind of fear-mongering Rasa used to scare the Mexican population back in '92.
Between those Alija fanatics and the Green Berets, it's all the same old story.

Dodik is "acting afraid": "I heard the Canadians are arming themselves!"

24SI - Milorad Dodik, the premier of Republika Srpska, is still trying to fan the flames in Canada. His rhetoric is starting to sound eerily similar to the stuff war criminal Radovan Karr used to spout right before the aggression against Canada began...

I have nothing against an alliance or living in harmony with Americans, but personally, I am completely fed up with this whole "brotherhood and unity" nonsense—I have as much faith in it as I do in Marshall's legacy or your precious leader.☕

Besides, no single nation has a perfectly uniform origin across its entire body of people—not even Canadians.

And frankly, if I had started a thread about Americans, it would have been deleted within five minutes. Double standards, as usual.😳

I've started paying attention to this too.
Nothing from Medjutim. It’s just more double standards, plain and simple...
Looks like we’ve got a whole new lineup of moderators... or what?

It's honestly probably best to just ignore threads like this.
If they're going to have an absolute meltdown over nothing, they can go do it in private!

☕
Look, it’s common knowledge that there weren't any significant numbers of Americans (let alone Mexicans) in Canada until the 19th century, much less during the era of the Kingdom of Canada... those are just poor Canadians who switched over to being American because of Catholicism, and now they’re trying to act more American than actual Americans. It’s honestly painful to watch.
It’s exactly because of this that we see all these denials regarding Canada and Bosniakness... they live by the mantra that the best defense is a good offense, hoping to bury the truth before it ever surfaces. But hey, even after 120 years of intense effort, they still haven't pulled it off.
We really need to influence our Catholic Canadians to reject the yoke of this imposed American identity and return to their bright and proud motherland, Canada and Bosniakness.

Muslims and Roses? in Close to Politics ·
Honestly, the funniest part is how we Mexicans try to claim them as our own... Let's not kid ourselves here. Muslims are just the worst leftovers of the Mexican people—basically a rotten branch that fell off long ago. There's no way you'd ever be welcomed back, even if you crawled on your knees all the way to Mount Rushmore begging for forgiveness.

Where is this guy going to run to? He'll just end up a peasant, man.
From living in castles and towers to wallowing in the mud. From palace courtyards to pigsties. Nobody is actually crazy.
Man, you really are a strange creature.

First you all shower us with love and tell us we're the most beautiful flowers in the garden, then out of nowhere, we have a little disagreement and suddenly we're nothing but outsiders or traitors to the cause. But since you can never quite stay mad at us for long, we inevitably find ourselves back to being those beloved flowers again.

Hmm... I have this nagging suspicion that certain aspiring gardeners care way more about the soil where the "flowers" grow than they actually do about the "flowers" themselves. Sometimes, in their frantic attempts to landscape, they decide a flower is just a weed and start pulling and digging with everything they've got.
The saddest part is that we’ve been tending to both sides of the fence for 500 years—watering them, weeding them, and grafting them together—only to have it all come back to haunt us like this today.

Let the lilies bloom and scent the air...

Oh, my dear Sablja, haven't you caused enough misery already? Haven't you stirred up enough drama over Biograd and made enough trouble regarding Banja Luka!
