Taylor Swift is basically the new Thompson! in Close to Politics ·
Larry Turner3 said:So, that explains why your avatar features a guy famous for playing thugs, cowboys, or cops. And listen, you claim you don't support defensive violence, but who exactly asked for your opinion on whether someone has the right to defend themselves? If you’re okay with letting people slap you in the street or letting Royalists slaughter people across the country, then that’s on you. Thank God there are people who don't think that way. Because if everyone shared your mindset, you'd be sitting here typing out your Ghandi-style statements about Greater Mexico right now. Isn't that right? Yes, it is.
At the end of the day, war songs serve their purpose. They exist to bolster the nation's morale, not to be scrutinized during Goran's political movements. You know.

👍👍

@ Patrick Wright2, it’s honestly a bit hard to believe anyone actually thinks that way. Being peaceful is all well and good, but what you're writing here...😢

That video is packed with nothing but small-minded people.nIf you actually took a second to think—though I seriously doubt you would—you'd realize I'm not trying to bash a whole crowd of people; I'm just sticking to the topic at hand, and that video was what triggered my comment.
🙄

Oh, "small-minded," will you... na, you say? 🤣...all I can think of when I hear that song and see that video is the homeland war. I don't know if that rings a bell for you.

Anyway, sticking to the topic, I don't see any point in trying to compare Thompson and Bruce Springsteen.
Both have their hits, both have their misses. At the end of the day, it just comes down to what you're into.
Should R. Čačić just step down from politics already? in Close to Politics ·

There go those Southerners again, completely missing the point of the conversation.😉

Honestly, your post is enough to make me burst out laughing—you’re a real straight shooter, Cacic.🤣

"Wait, hold on... let me just pause for a second here."
frozentiger6 As if I haven't heard this before...
I honestly can’t decide if I should even bother asking this, but I’m genuinely baffled. Where on earth are people finding the cash to fly off to those fancy ski resorts in Colorado or Utah for winter vacations? It’s wild. You listen to everyone whining and groaning about how the economy is tanking here in the States, claiming we're in some massive crisis, and then you turn around and see them posting photos from a luxury lodge in the Rockies. Make it make sense. One minute it's "we can't afford groceries," and the next it's "look at me skiing through fresh powder." The math just isn't mathing.

Look, I get it. Two hundred and fifty thousand people might seem like a drop in the bucket when you look at the total population of the US, but let’s not be naive here... it still carries some weight. It matters.
I mean, I get it. Where exactly is all that cash coming from? They’re out there blowing huge sums at these high-end mountain resorts like they own the place. If they’ve got the money to burn and it makes them feel important or whatever, then fine—be my guest. Go ahead. But honestly, I’ve noticed this pattern with these certain types of people. Every single year, it’s the same thing: they flock to the Rockies or head over to the Alps or somewhere in Switzerland just to pose. They aren't even there to actually ski; let's be real. They probably just spend the whole time sitting around sipping tea or cocoa, looking fancy, and then spending the rest of the year talking about how "exquisite" the trip was. It's all for show. But hey, what do I know? I’m really not trying to sound bitter or anything. Just an observation.😁

I mean, I might actually be able to swing a trip to Denver eventually... mostly just because it's practically in my backyard.😁

What is even the issue?

Well, why don't you just ask him what the big deal is? 😁

Jealousy is such a constant, isn't it? It’s always there, lurking. If I decided right now that I wanted to go skiing, I’d find a way to make it happen—find the time, scrape together the cash, whatever it takes. But instead, some people prefer to just sit around, lamenting their "tragic" lives and seething with envy because someone else might be living a little better. Or, for all we know, they're just living an *illusion* of a better life.😉

Too real. Honestly, I know plenty of them. But hey, what can I say... we'll talk business later.🤣

"Gas, Gas" is absolute trash, but honestly? That makes it the perfect formula for a massive hit around here. It’s sad, but that’s just how it works.

Yeah, it’s a tragedy. But hey, life gives you choices, doesn't it? And my choice is pretty simple: I’m not listening to that kind of stuff, not even if my life depended on it.🙂

Are you actually kidding me right now?😁

I’m not trying to be a hater here, I really am—but I genuinely find myself wondering what exactly is "good" about her songs lately. I mean, especially the recent stuff. Though, I suppose to each their own, right? Different strokes for different folks.
But man, that one song... "Gas, Gas"... it was honestly painful to listen to. Just pure auditory torture.
Not wanting kids: Is it just me? in Psychology ·
So, here’s the deal: a woman is asking—and look, she’s a woman, so she’s supposed to have those maternal instincts, right?—whether it’s weird that she doesn’t want kids. She’s looking for other women to weigh in on their views regarding motherhood, which, honestly, seems perfectly fine to me. 🤷

Anyway, personally? I don't find it strange at all that you don't want children. I mean, let's be real, we all know just how massive of a responsibility they are and how much of your life they absolutely devour. You have every right to opt out. It’s better to not have them than to have them just for the sake of it... you actually have to *want* them, otherwise, what's the point?
The same goes for the women who genuinely love kids and actually want them; I think it's pretty silly to assume they're just doing it because they're following some old-fashioned tradition. Sure, that happens way too often, but you can't just lump everyone into the same category.
