Paying bills online in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
You can pay for just about anything through JPMorgan Chase, they just hit you with a fee for everything else 🙂

I mean, after just one month, how much of that 3.70% interest rate is actually going to hit you when you divide it over 12 months?
Melissa Morgan77 said:You stuck to the deal, so you aren't the one at fault here. It sucks she didn't get it, obviously, but there's no way to know who's playing games behind the scenes. You can't blame her.

Look, there’s a shipping confirmation, and then there’s the receipt that used to be $3.25 which shows whether the package actually arrived or not. If it didn't, you're entitled to compensation for the full value or up to four times the shipping cost... ☕

How much does it cost?
Thanks.

Are you kidding me? The price list is literally three posts up... people are incredibly lazy.😲
Carol Mitchell67 said:Is there any way to send a package where the recipient covers the shipping costs? Like, can I just drop the box off at the counter, specify that the receiver pays the postage, and then they handle the payment when they pick it up?

It works if you use FedEx and mark it as "receiver pays." In that case, you don't pay anything upfront; you just get a receipt confirming it was sent... As far as I know, you can't do that with standard economy mail.

EDIT: I've noticed people asking about service rates constantly. Maybe a moderator could pin these price lists to the top of the thread to save everyone some time.

Mistaken wire transfer/payment error in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
^^ I said the exact same thing ten pages ago when we dealt with this same situation... but some people here act like they live in some kind of utopia where if someone gets hit with a lawsuit for money they weren't supposed to receive, they’ll just hand over the principal plus interest, legal fees, a new pair of Nikes, and then go spend ten years doing hard labor on a desert island. ☕

Do you guys actually live in America? You have no idea how long a trial like that would drag on if it even started. I dealt with something similar at my old firm once, and we just wrote off the money. It wasn't worth the headache—financially or mentally. Plus, who’s to say he’d even be found guilty if the mistake was made by a third party—the company itself—transferring funds, and then some agency like the IRS or a federal regulator pulls the money back before he even knows what hit him? If a banker calls you out of the blue saying your account is frozen because of someone else's error... honestly, I can't say if I'd return the money until I'm actually standing in those shoes. Though, if you want my honest opinion right now? I wouldn't. Go ahead and sue me.

There’s nothing his bank can do at this point... we dealt with something similar once, and our lawyer warned us that even if we won—and there's no guarantee because the bookkeeping was a mess—it would be a long, drawn-out legal battle. Especially if the defendant just decided to skip the hearing... so we basically just ate the loss. It was about $1,000-$500 back then. Legally, they could sue, but if what you're saying is true, I don't see how they'll prove embezzlement or theft when the bank immediately handed the money over to someone else based on a levy. Honestly, I think the clerk is the only one who's going to take the fall 😉 btw, is your account still at $0.00? Just go to a branch, close the account, and switch to a different bank 😉

^^ lol.. at a bank, the government actually guarantees your deposits, but here? No one does. Besides, the FBI wouldn't be the first agency to lose money through bad business moves or embezzlement... and who was guaranteeing the principal back then? Nobody. ☕

True enough... though I’m sure someone will chime in claiming JP Morgan Chase isn't some charity organization. If you've got, say, 500 $0.00 sitting around and you don't want to deal with them, you don't have to. You've got options—oil, stocks, Gold, or just keeping it under the mattress 😁 and calling it a day. You aren't forced to do business with a bank if you don't want to, right? Aside from your paycheck, of course. Though, technically, you don't even need that if your employer actually listens to reason and isn't a total hardhead.

Raymond Clark7 said:Yeah, sure, I'll just hand them $167 and then they'll go belly up in ten years, leaving me with absolutely nothing to show for it, right?

And what if I kick the bucket or lose everything in ten years? Am I still expected to keep paying them back until every cent of that interest is cleared?

🤣🤣🤣

We're basically cut from the same cloth.

Banks crash and burn all the time, and when they do, that money isn't coming back to you—not like I can walk in there and put a local branch up as collateral or anything.

You won't be paying because you'll be dead.😉 It's the guarantor who pays.🙂 If they actually collapse, there would likely be enough warning signs to pull your cash out early. Plus, the FDIC guarantees amounts up to $250k, though that doesn't always mean much in practice.$0.00 Besides, nobody is crazy enough to "put all their eggs in one basket," right?🙄 And do you really think a scenario like JP Morgan Chase failing is likely? It's possible, but then you should just invest in something more secure. Honestly, what is even "secure" anymore? If an apocalypse or a nuclear war hits tomorrow, you won't care about money—you'll be worried about a slice of bread and a glass of water. You could buy real estate, Gold, or land for that kind of cash. Anyway, the point remains: you don't make money on a High School loan or a mortgage. Those are service products. People who want them will take them, and those who don't can just walk away.☕

You make a fair point, but my main issue is that those middlemen are operating illegally. If you want a loan, you should go straight to a real institution like Bank of America and deal with their strict requirements, rather than letting these shady characters—or whatever you want to call them—drain people's pockets. That’s probably why 🙂 Jonathan Ward59 wasn't being all that chatty about how she handled her situation 😉 or maybe she ended up losing money too.

Yesterday’s paper reported that banks aren't approving loans for Americans because of poor repayment rates, and they claimed those middleman brokers are operating illegally...
