And then there was me... in Spirituality ·
Rocky, oh Rocky...
I envy the fortunate ones. A portion of my writings will become permanent archival material... a lasting imprint of my existence.👋
I shall continue to live on through these pages... indefinitely.🎉🎉🎉

It rained on us tonight, thank God.
And honey, this second photo is absolutely stunning. Thank you, thank you—a hundred times over. 🙂

It is easy to die a slow death...

A slow death comes for
those who never travel,
those who never read,
those who never listen to music,
and those who cannot find contentment within themselves.

A slow death comes for
the one who destroys their own capacity for love,
and the one who refuses to accept help.

A slow death comes for
the one who becomes a slave to habit,
imposing the same limitations upon themselves every single day.

The one who refuses to break their routine,
the one who lacks the courage to try something new,
and the one who fails to speak with strangers.

A slow death comes for
the one who flees from passion and its intense emotions;
the very things that bring light to the eyes and life back to a lonely heart.

A slow death comes for
the one who stays stuck when they are unhappy with their career or their partner,
the one who refuses to trade security for uncertainty,
and the one who fails to chase their dreams.

The one who will not allow themselves, even once,
to ignore meaningful advice...

Live today.
Take the risk today.
Act today.
Do not let yourself slowly fade away.
Never forget to be happy!

-Walt Whitman

I felt compelled to share a link to this incredible song, so I decided to drop it here in Stella's corner. It’s truly wonderful.

... Stella, I haven't heard from JJ and B McG in forever ... 🙂

Here is another one from JJ for you,🙂 which ties in perfectly with my last post and several others in this document.

There is one more interesting point I’d like to add here.
Modern pop culture pushes the idea that everything needs to be fast, fun, and convenient. The goal is always to find a shortcut to the finish line. That has become the standard path.
Society no longer values persistence when faced with failure or obstacles, nor does it value the deep satisfaction that can only be earned through long-term, steady effort.
Everything has to be instant, or else it’s considered too slow. It’s like what N'Dug would say: why wait for a fine vintage wine to age when you can just grab an energy drink?
It is difficult to resist this trend.

It is very easy for people to progressively lower their standards just to avoid what they’ve been convinced is "struggling"—the idea that hard work is just for losers who can't find a way around.

When you lower your standards, you trigger a domino effect that lowers your expectations in every area of life, including emotional investment and commitment. This applies to relationships, self-knowledge, personal achievements, and self-development. Without engagement, there are no results.

I also want to touch on something Vertigo mentioned regarding how people react to those who achieve more than expected. Does the success of others make people feel uncomfortable, potentially driving them to lower their own standards and only operate at a fraction of their actual potential?
I think it would be worthwhile to explore this concept further.
Traditional American society understood the value of grit and diligent work much better than we do now.

I’m going to drop a link to a Wikipedia on defense mechanism article here; I think everyone could find some value in reading through it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defense_mechanism

A few points worth highlighting:
For defense mechanisms to actually work, they have to remain unconscious.
We can view psychiatric symptoms as instances where these defenses have failed.

at least in my book 🙄

Naturally, because that's just how I roll, I have a little poem to go along with it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vnany...eature=related😍

I mean, it's all about the Ark... as the song goes 🙄

Do you really think I'm some coward hiding behind a defensive wall, trying to lure in decent men with incense?

You don't have to be a coward.. you just need to fix that crooked angle
See, there you go again, feeling the need to defend that idiot at the office, when without him, everything would still be out of alignment

Anyway, at least now we know you guys have enough bourbon at the office,
just enough to move humanity forward,
which remains the only real secret to getting a good night's sleep,
and so on, and so forth (go ahead, you finish it...)

Actually, it's because of Noah. Just call it Noah's sand.😍

you don't have to be a coward.. you just need to fix that crooked angle
See, now you're defending that idiot at work, when without him, the Mississippi wouldn't even be crooked anymore

Well, at least we found out you smoke on the job.

Correction: both the idiot and the smoker are in the Psychology department.

how much is needed for the progress of humanity,
which remains the only healthy recipe for a good night's sleep,
etc., etc. (go ahead, you finish it...)

Regarding the other points, I can only agree with what the esteemed mod stated. 🙏

dustyskipper3 said:The topic itself is framed so broadly that it’s difficult for anything to truly be off-topic, I guess. Even those measurements—let's say even a few inches counts as progress. If you hit seventeen, you’re doing quite well, and if you pass twenty, maybe you could even become a horse. And a horse is a noble creature, though perhaps somewhat underestimated in this modern era of machines and gasoline... in Chinese astrology, the horse represents healthy people, much like our Sagittarius—the centaur—which represents folks who are generally healthy and inclined toward sports, or football, or things of that nature.

It all comes down to personality, I suppose, and how one chooses to advance their character spirituality. Looking to animals for inspiration isn't such a bad idea, really. Kung Fu derives its various fighting styles from the way animals behave during combat; there are styles based on the crane, the snake, the tiger, the monkey, and the praying mantis... the crane style, for instance, is sort of a way of feigning weakness, where the basic stance is on one leg, and then you suddenly condense everything into a single point and strike with all your strength. Perhaps these styles could also be applied to verbal sparring and communication. In that sense, Stella might seem weak on the forum, but when she strikes, she would likely floor anyone. The tiger style is for those who prefer to be a bit wild and vehement, almost like a feral cat. Then there is the snake style, which involves striking suddenly, briefly, and with minimalism, before retreating back to a starting position, maybe somewhere below a pyramid. The praying mantis looks very much in love, but once those claws grab you... well, anyway, I am just saying, there are many such styles present here on the forum.

You have a point.👍
It’s a choice between the individual, society, progress, or spirituality. Animals can simply be categorized under nature.

On a side note, I actually saw some real horses today—beautiful creatures. 🙂

Regarding styles, I should just remind everyone that the famous "laissez-faire" style exists as well.😁

You're just pulling my leg again, aren't you?

Quentin Tarantino
It was actually the exact opposite. After that cookie, I just hit a massive food coma. 😍
Oh man, I completely blanked on what actually helps me get a good night's sleep.

Quentin Tarantino
I didn't quite follow that... What does a kid have to do with anything being 7cm or 77cm? 😲 Or maybe it’s linked to depression? 😕
Honestly, there’s just nothing there. I was actually going to mention that you only need a tiny, millimeter-thin margin for that, but I didn't want to come across as being too pushy about it.

Honestly, I don't know what you're thinking, but that logic seems pretty outdated—even the old-school folks from generations ago wouldn't have bought into that. You can't seriously claim a woman is at her most peaceful just because she's been "pumped up."

Quentin Tarantino

Hurray for the sheriff! 🙏
He really ought to respect and appreciate you.

And honestly, we’ve all picked up a thing or two around here thanks to that controversial guy of yours. 👍

Quentin Tarantino

That guy was being pretty clever, wasn't he?
He actually tried to fix one issue by creating an entirely new one...

Man, even that nonsense from unknown 😲 felt like more than this, and now we're down to mere millimeters. 🤣

hooray for the boss lady 🙏
she definitely has to respect and value you.

With her, you never know. She’s incredibly unpredictable.
I had my arguments ready, but they just keep messing around, and I wasn't sure how the whole thing would wrap up.

by the way, what kind of American are you if you don't know (even the old settlers knew and practiced this) that a woman is most peaceful when she's been "inflated"

That guy of yours was being quite clever!
He wanted to solve one problem by creating another...

Exactly, my little genius knew exactly what he was doing.🤣

Ronald Rogers27 said:It’s not really about the sex... I mean, what you truly want. It’s about the whole package. It’s tied to your depression. It’s tied to your fragile mental state—which, look, I get it. You have to acknowledge that and find strength there, at least that's how I see it.

You need to get to know yourself inside and out. Once you do, you can start shifting in the directions where you actually need to define yourself. 🙏

And honestly? To make that happen, you have to be braver. You have to let some high-quality men into your life... Let them help shape you and introduce you to who you really are. 😬

Ronald Rogers27

So, according to your logic, while wealthy men are essentially practicing the opposite of therapy, I am supposed to distance myself, whereas I should be letting "high-quality men" (the full package, including everything else) into my life?
😕😂
Do you honestly think I’m a coward hiding behind walls, trying to drive away decent men by burning incense?🤷🤣

briskraven28 said:An explanation alone just keeps you trapped in that endless cycle of medication...

So, I have to strengthen my own internal structure—through meds, sure, but through other ways too—and work as hard as possible to build up my stress tolerance and actually manage it.
I have to give it everything I've got to find that strength. After all, if I don't have my own strength, that's what the medication is for—to give me a push, a temporary crutch.
Now I just need to push through this rough patch, and we'll see if things turn around.
In the end, I've been here before—things were even worse then, and I made it out.

It seems clear to you that you could manage without the pills right now—you've already anticipated this... you're just stalling a bit to give yourself time to process it all.😁
🙂

My prescriptions are actually quite mild. You would probably be relieved to hear that some certain ones were slated for reduction or even discontinuation because they carry an addiction risk. He is a good doctor; he genuinely ensures people don't overdo it with pills. It isn't as if he prescribes things for no reason.
It is obvious you could manage without the pills right this second—😁 you already anticipated this—you are just stalling a bit to give yourself more time to process everything.
🙂

This process needs to be handled carefully and gradually so brain chemistry can adapt.
I once decided on my own to stop taking my Ad, and since I felt fine at the time, I didn't follow the prescription. About ten days later, I was hit out of nowhere by a sudden, intense craving that wasn't triggered by anything external.
It should be done under supervision—tapering off slowly—so that when you finally stop, you don't even feel it.
I suspect this topic will eventually move to the off-topic section under the heading Stella's corner.🤣

Naturally, in my usual style, I have included an appropriate little song.

Ronald Rogers27 said:Man... I can't really wrap my head around the United States. They just seem so aggressive and blunt. As for the whole spiritual vibe, it feels like those tiny, stunted works by Andy Warhol... Not massive, just miniature versions (even though Warhol definitely wasn't a miniaturist). I imagine Australia is even more tragic. A whole continent built on the genes of hardened convicts and streetwalkers from the streets of England, deported there back in the 23rd century... Chills! 😬

What kind of person am I picturing as an Australian? Well... I have nothing but high praise for Americans... What else could I think after that first paragraph about Australians? 👎

Actually, it was the opposite. After the cookies, I crashed hard. 😍

I don't get it... What does a baby have to do with being 7cm or 77cm? 😲 Or maybe it's related to depression? 😕

Or are you implying I'm playing on your ex's favorite game? I'm just joking around here, but people take my jokes way too seriously. 😉

Ronald Rogers27

And what would you even swap it for?

With depression, my nonsense, and this constant state of not knowing what I want.
He had this theory about therapy through procreation.🤣
Masturbation just didn't cut it.😁
