I feel like we see this all the time lately—teams handing out massive contracts to guys who are solid, but maybe lack that "X-factor" to actually win a championship. It feels like a huge risk to tie up so much cap space in someone who might just be a placeholder. Do you think it's better to go all-in on superstars or build through these reliable mid-tier guys?

Sisterly (un)healthy relationships

Honestly, I’m thinking this whole thread might actually belong over in the psychology section. I feel like if I moved it there, I’d probably get way more responses from people who actually know what they're talking about, so if anyone can help me move this over, that would be great.

After that whole unknown blowout with my sister, I started looking at our family drama from a completely different angle, and honestly, I’m just stuck in this loop of confusion. Since there are probably a few more brilliant minds on this forum than just my own, let's break this down step by step:
There are three of us sisters. I’m the baby of the bunch, and the other two are nine and seven years older than me. I get along famously with my middle sister; we really have each other's backs, vent to one another when life gets heavy, and can sit and listen to each other's problems for days on end. Our parents are still around, though they’re getting up there in age and dealing with some pretty serious health issues, so both of us are over at their place constantly helping out with whatever they need—I even play chauffeur for their doctor appointments whenever it's necessary.
Then there’s the third sister. She’s got a grievance for absolutely everything. She only shows up at our parents' place maybe three or four times a year, and it always seems to happen right around a major holiday, like today😍, so she acts like she "just can't help" missing the routine stuff.
She jumps at every single opportunity to turn our mother against me. Every time I show up, she brands me as some gold-digger, claiming I'm just bleeding them dry. She even goes through Dad’s paperwork whenever she gets the chance, obsessively checking to make sure he hasn't signed anything over to me.
The other day, she actually stormed into my house to attack me, accusing me of stealing some of his savings—which, by the way, he had already moved into a savings account and it shows up as a standard withdrawal on the statement...
Up until that point, I mostly kept my mouth shut. I used to just tell myself, "Oh, that's just how she is, I haven't done anything to her, so it doesn't matter what she says,"
but since we live in such a small town, rumors started flying that I was manipulating them both, and that really stung. So, I finally spoke up to my father—something I’d never done before—telling him there was no reason for all this tension. When Dad asked her why she was acting this way, the harassment only intensified. Suddenly, I’m the villain, the bad guy, the one who's supposedly driving my middle sister crazy and turning her against the whole family. Basically, they’ve cast me as Lucifer, head to toe.🤣
It doesn't bother me too much because I can look at myself in the mirror and face everyone without any guilt, but it hit me today that she’s been picking on me and physically bullying me since we were little kids. Now, I’m sitting here wondering: why does she do it? Is this just some deep-seated pattern stretching back to our childhood? What’s the real catch here? Is it just pure jealousy?

Thanks 🙂

I'm a little fuzzy on how the whole ignore list thing actually works here. Like, if I put someone on my block list, can they still see my username and all my posts, or am I just effectively invisible to them while I stop seeing their nonsense?
And more importantly, can they still slide into my DMs?

Man, do you guys have anything smaller?!

Honestly, this stuff drives me absolutely insane. I was at this little corner bodega just the other day—you know, the one where I stop every single morning to drop off at least $3.25. So, I’m there to grab two newspapers, they’re $4.00 each, so that’s $8.00 total, right? Problem is, I didn't have any small bills on me, just a $67 in my pocket. This woman behind the counter starts snapping at me, acting all indignant because I don't have exact change. I mean, seriously? I just looked her straight in the eye and told her, "Maybe you should be the one worrying about having enough change, not me." And she loses it! Just starts getting all worked up, making this huge scene over nothing. I tried to be polite, like, "Look, just give me my money back, I'll just go somewhere else," but no way. She's stubborn as hell and insisted on giving me whatever change she could scrape together. She starts counting out these tiny coins, and now I'm stuck standing there counting them while the line of people behind me is growing by the second 😁. I finally finish counting out 220 cents worth of nickels and dimes for her—mostly tens and fives—because she realized she'd totally botched the math 😲. Then, get this, she actually has the nerve to ask *me* to give the change back to her! I was like, "Excuse me? You weren't exactly rushing to give me my 200 back earlier." I just grabbed my crumpled newspaper 🤣 and made sure to tell her point-blank that she won't be seeing me again because she's honestly just unpleasant to deal with. At the end of the day, she's down $15. I genuinely wonder how many papers she has to sell just to break even on that mistake, plus whatever I used to spend there, which was easily 300-$117 a month.

Honestly, whenever I get hit with one of those fines, I just pay the damn thing and shut my mouth because, let's face it, I was in the wrong. I’m pretty meticulous about it—I don't even bother riding without my registration or a helmet. This time, it was just a seatbelt issue and some lights that weren't turned on properly.

Exactly. If she actually cared about the moral side of things, she wouldn't be asking for help in the first place. But that's the thing, isn't it? I feel like the penalties in this country are way too light, and even when they do hand them out, nobody actually enforces them properly anyway.
