Good luck pushing through to the finish line.
From the very beginning of our relationship, my husband wanted kids, but I always played it off saying we had plenty of time—until motherhood finally hit me.
As for husbands, they aren't all cut from the same cloth!
The day I told him I was pregnant, he was all in. Every single day when he got home from work, he’d kiss my belly, kiss me, and even call me during his breaks just to check in on "us." He'd ask if the baby was kicking or if everything was okay, massage my legs and back, and talk to my stomach... so yeah, it really comes down to the individual.

We had 40 kg of pastries for 75 people. We used 10 kg for the restaurant and another 8 kg was passed out as people were leaving. Everything else went home with us and eventually ended up being shared with neighbors—it’s just how we do things here, plus we always get plenty of treats from others. Work, our local coffee shop... basically, everything disappeared. We only tossed about 2 kg the day before yesterday. I ordered 10 kg of authentic, homemade sweets from a neighbor over on Manhattan because her price per kilo is $25, and those went straight to the hall. The rest came from a supplier in Columbus that works with Walmart; they’re nicely packaged and actually taste good.

I’ve decided I’m bringing about 22 pounds of dessert to the venue, including a 1st birthday cake. I'll have roughly 13-14 pounds set aside for serving, plus some extra to hand out to the neighbors and people at home. That leaves us with about 65 pounds of treats total for an 80-person crowd.

Dana Wright4, I see you're eyeing those cookies from that bakery in Austin. Honestly, I’m thinking about ordering half my wedding catering from there—they're way more budget-friendly and, in my experience, they actually taste great.

That’s why they call them "dry" 🤣 🤣 🤣

Just kidding, mostly. 😁

We'll see about splitting this up with the neighbors. 55 lbs sounds reasonable enough, though I was thinking maybe 22 lbs just for the salads. I'm still not sure how much I'll need for the main course since I'm hosting 80 people.

I swear, if I have to deal with this much more, I’m going to end up bankrupt just from buying cookies.

darkhound25, that’s a massive amount. We're talking nearly a pound of cake for just two people.

I’m still scratching my head over the math for enough cake for 80 guests, plus whatever I’ll be handing out at the wedding reception and giving to the neighbors the next day.

Check out Target; I think that's where the girls were picking up those figurines

I'm leaning toward orange-beige, gold, or maybe some brown tones—just playing around with the palette right now. My first thought was actually all white, since I guess my tastes are pretty traditional at heart.

Chloe Miller26, you’ll be rocking the orange look just like me soon enough.

Justin Nguyen6, where on earth did you find a cake that cheap?

Man, those cakes are pricey. Seriously, what a rip-off. Not that I’m even much of a sweet tooth anyway.

@Alex Moore28, where on earth did you order that cake? It looks incredible, and honestly, I need to know the price!

I only mentioned them as a backup since I noticed Vincent has them available.

blueotter13, thanks!

You could always just use initials; you can find those details over at Denny's.

I’ve gone through so many Linzer torte already that my mother-in-law is actually trying to lecture me, claiming 22 pounds isn't enough for 80 people—even though I plan on handing them out at the wedding and then basically giving them away to the whole neighborhood the next day.

velvetjackal752, how many people were actually there for that?

If you're hanging around Seattle, you might want to head over to San Francisco
