Question about what happens after you give birth 🙂

I’m out here in the middle of nowhere, home alone with two kids. My husband works away from home, so he’s only back for maybe ten days every few weeks...
The first couple of times, my mom used to come stay with us. She can't anymore. Now, my mother-in-law lives 19 miles right next door and she never stops questioning me about how I’m handling everything. She acts like she’s making some huge sacrifice, yet my own mother isn't there? Or my sister? She never mentions them... 🙄
The breaking point was when she actually suggested someone should take both kids away for at least five days just so I could get some sleep and bond with the baby.
Are you kidding me?! There is absolutely no way I’m letting anyone take my children away. I want us to be together constantly. I’m not risking any kind of trauma over something so trivial. God forbid there are complications, but right now, that idea sounds completely insane to me...
How am I supposed to stay polite. How... 🕺
🤣
I’m still not sure if I’ve just become numb to these kinds of questions or what. I suppose it depends on the day and whatever mood people are in...
You look fine to me, honestly 🤦
Your face looks a little fuller 🙄
Back during my first pregnancy, my sister actually had the nerve to ask if I could suck in my stomach.
She gave birth a year ago and she still can't pull it in. I’m starting to think most people don't even care anymore
My OB-GYN actually looked stunned yesterday... he told me he's honestly never seen a baby positioned quite like this before 🤣
It’s getting harder and harder to actually catch some sleep lately 😢
I think they’re just trying to act important because they survived it and look at them, still kicking... maybe...

He... he really gets under my skin. My back can barely handle the daily grind anymore, and here I am, feeling every bit of it by 11 AM... just constant pain...
🤣

I always tell everyone exactly how many pounds I’ve put on.
If anyone actually cares, I can give you my numbers too. 😁

It doesn't really matter anyway. In a year, they'll just be telling me how pathetic I look, how I barely eat anything, and how my kids have completely worn me out... 🙄

I always start at 115, and then the second I gain five pounds, suddenly I'm "filling out."
Meanwhile, the women who start at 155 act like they've lost a massive amount of weight when they barely change at all... 🤦

Honestly, people will always have something to say. No matter what you look like or what you do... just stick it in your ear and keep moving. 🙂
Chris Mitchell4, I feel the exact same way😉

For example, I found it a bit hypocritical when my sister-in-law and I were pregnant. It was always a massive celebration...
with my mother-in-law throwing these huge parties at her place and all that. But when their daughter had her baby,
suddenly they didn't want to visit her mother-in-law at all because, you know, their poor little thing was stuck in the hospital and
there was just no way she was going over there 🙄

During my pregnancies, I eat whatever I want. I'm not a fan of alcohol, though. If I have a beer, it’s just a small one. That's plenty for me...
What are you saying? Breastfeeding is actually much harder. At least for those first three months. Nothing tastes right—not too sour, not too salty, nothing isn't quite right...
but you manage to get through it eventually

Him: "So, how are you? How are you feeling? Is everything okay?" Ugh...
So, why is a single glass of beer or wine strictly off-limits during pregnancy?
Or why can't you just eat whatever you're craving? 🤷

This is my third pregnancy, and honestly, I’ve never once bothered checking what's considered "forbidden"...
I’m definitely one of those people who thinks it’s perfectly normal 🤷
It’s not like my husband is getting wasted or anything, but look... I didn't just undergo some high-stakes brain surgery where survival is a question mark. I had a baby.
A healthy, happy baby, and I feel fine. So why shouldn't we celebrate that?
Besides, when a woman finally gets home with a newborn that's only a few days old, she’s certainly not going to be in the mood for playing hostess
cleaning up after guests and everything. Everyone will just want to hover over her, grab the baby for a second, blah blah blah.
And in two months, once she's actually recovered, there'll probably be a christening or something anyway, so there won't really be a need to throw a separate party just for the birth.
Just my two cents... 😉
uhhh... 😁

With these two pregnant women, most of the time I just found it annoying how everyone would act so surprised that I wasn't dealing with morning sickness. They’d be all, "Oh, I lost my soul," or whatever... then they'd start questioning why I'm out walking, driving, or heading to my lectures, or why I don't have six undershirts ready... 🙄

I think I've finally gotten used to the scrutiny, though. Now, I can just give them a casual shrug and move on.

Lately, though, I'm mostly just frustrated with myself because the amount I'm eating is getting ridiculous.
My husband finishes his meal and heads back to work while I'm sitting there asking the kids if they want anything else, then cleaning up their plates if there's food left in the pot... 🤦
I'll eat a decent-sized portion and only then does the hunger actually hit me.
I'm three and a half months along and I've only gained about four pounds. It makes me nervous thinking about what's going to happen by the end.
I'm just counting down the days until it gets warmer so I can spend all my time out walking... 👋

Linda Ward312, I just picked up some boxes from a shop in Seattle and brought them into the hall,
set them out on the dessert tables, and let everyone help themselves to whatever they wanted... 🤷

Joshua Clark said:Honestly, it’s a piece of cake, baby. 👍
You just need a talented pastry chef. For a cake like this, you don't necessarily need a super dense base—like a Sacher—you just need a solid internal support structure, you know? Something to keep the whole thing from collapsing.
As for those decorations around the edges, that's just chocolate work.
I can't really recommend anyone in New York City who could pull this off—to be honest, I just don't know. Other than me, obviously. 🤣

True, but I'm not sure if that's the standard setup—just sponge cake with different creams or what?
Anyway, I actually need this in Los Angeles...

Does anyone actually know if this is even doable... and what the inside might look like?
We're expecting about 170 people, plus more cakes and desserts...
