Honestly, after this entire week, I finally managed to get some actual sleep last night.

Ugh, I feel so bad for you ladies.😢
Personally, I am sleeping better than I ever have in my life, though I sometimes feel a flicker of anxiety that if I drift off too deeply, I might actually miss the baby crying.
Laura Castillo4 said:That’s honestly one of the most terrible things I’ve ever heard. "Did it come back to life?" Seriously? 😕

I’m saying that my baby is alive from the moment of conception because I truly believe that's how it works. It's all about those living cells continuously developing. 😍

That sounds haunting. 😠

Had a dentist appointment today!!!! Seriously, don't believe everything you hear!!!!

I hadn't even sat down in the chair yet before they were like: "Wow, look how much you've grown since last time" (which was only a month ago)
I wouldn't be surprised if it was some old guy talking instead of someone in their 30s!!!! 🙂🙂
It wasn't exactly my most comfortable moment 🙂

The dentist took you too seriously??? 😲
People truly afford themselves far too much importance.

One ought to simply act insane and strike back—grab them by the balls, or if it happens to be a woman, grab her by the breasts. 🤣
hiddenscout362 said:Questions about why I haven't felt the baby move yet, as if I'm supposed to be feeling those little flutters by this week🙂 (I'm actually at 17 weeks)

And then there's the "why are you still vomiting?" comments. Like, yeah, clearly I'm loving the idea of hugging my toilet every single morning

"The baby is going to change your entire life." Oh, really? As if I didn't already know that, or as if it just randomly fell out of the sky...

But honestly, the most irritating thing of all is when people say everything will be different once the baby is actually HERE😲 😱

Good grief, we are dealing with those outdated generations who only considered a child "alive" once they witnessed those first little movements. 🤣
I always find myself responding with a sort of blunt, naive sarcasm: "Oh, really now? You think that matters? Our baby has been alive since the ninth week; we’ve seen and heard the heartbeat ourselves. Is that somehow not sufficient?"
Good grief, I’ll probably end up in a true crime documentary. I can already see the headlines: "Pregnant Woman Strangles Neighbor!" 🙂🙂🙂
There is a young married couple living nearby. Their apartment faces ours, providing them with an unobstructed view of our entire lives, even though we share the same building and entrance. Since I don't use curtains, they can see everything clearly whenever we turn on the lights. I never gave much thought to it before; if watching our lives provides them with some sort of entertainment, then fine by me.
I was completely indifferent about it until I became pregnant. The peak of this absurdity occurred when I mentioned my pregnancy to them, only for my neighbor to proudly declare that he already knew. 🙄
He had watched me rubbing oil on my stomach after a shower and wondered to himself, "What is that woman doing? Is she sane?" He then connected the dots while we were replacing the flooring in our unit, realizing we were preparing for a baby. 🙂I was left speechless; in that moment, I found him utterly repulsive.

And now, they have begun spreading the news and informing the rest of the neighborhood that I am pregnant. I ran into one neighbor two days ago and offered a polite greeting—I am not close with anyone here, just a "good morning" kind of relationship—but she lunged at me like a Pitbull: "So, what's the news? How are you all doing?" I told her nothing new, we are doing well, thanks, and tried to walk away, but she pushed again: "Oh, come on, there must be something. You've certainly filled out lately!" I simply replied, "We're expecting a baby!" To which she responded, "Well, that's what I'm asking! You'll have to show us the baby once it's born." I forced a smile, said, "Of course," and kept moving.
Yesterday, I encountered another neighbor in the lobby, and she gave me the same treatment: "Congratulations!" I asked, "On what, exactly?"
"Well, Quincy told me you're having a baby, that you're pregnant!"
Once again, I offered a polite, superficial thank you and hurried along.

Seriously, WTF??? 😕😕😕
Surely my husband and I reserve the right to inform whoever we deem appropriate about our pregnancy, rather than leaving it to the whims of the neighbors. Yet, apparently, they have decided to take that liberty for themselves. 🙂

Look, I am eight months along, so it is physically obvious, but does that really justify gossiping about it to everyone?

No, I am not letting hormones dictate my reaction here. This is pure audacity, and it has crossed every reasonable line. I am struggling to restrain myself from marching up to her door and throwing the whole truth in her face. I have never experienced such an intrusive violation of privacy in my life.

Ugh, I have been fuming all day; I needed to vent here. 😁
Stand up for myself? How am I even supposed to do that given my current situation?
Listen, a man who is capable of shoving a pregnant woman and then chasing after her screaming threats of violence is a deranged lunatic; if he is capable of such a thing, I cannot even begin to fathom what else he might be prone to doing. But in that moment, pure terror and shock took over, and the only logical move was to run and find safety—primarily because the well-being of my unborn child is my absolute priority.

If I weren't pregnant, I wouldn't have let him get away with it; I would have stood my ground and clawed his eyes out if that’s what it took. I have considered going to the police or filing a lawsuit, but to what end? A court date could be scheduled for five days from now or five months from now, and since I am living abroad, traveling with a newborn is simply not an option 311 miles. I would have no problem hiring the most aggressive attorney in the country, and I wouldn't hesitate to spend every cent I own just to ensure that idiot pays for the trauma he inflicted on me. But karma is real, and eventually, his actions will catch up to him.
All I want is to move past this and forget it ever happened. 😢
Amy Nelson132 said:The thing that gets to me most is people just ignoring the rules... wherever I go, I wait my turn. It never even crosses my mind to cut in line, especially now that I'm pregnant and there are places where expecting moms get priority. I had such an uncomfortable encounter the other day... I walked into a local notary office and saw two people sitting there waiting. I stood there for a minute before deciding to approach the clerk to ask what I needed, but before I could even get a word out, this woman sitting there lunges toward me—almost pushing me aside—and snaps loudly that she's next in line. wtf... I was honestly stunned!! I just wanted to talk to the lady behind the desk, not sit there like an idiot waiting for something to happen... but this woman, seeing my belly, thought I was trying to jump ahead of her..... It's terrible how some women can be.....

Consider yourself lucky she didn't actually strike you. I once had a toll booth attendant in a suburb outside of Chicago shove me when I dared to ask for my correct change. I was seven months pregnant at the time and nearly lost my footing entirely. But as if that weren't enough, the man actually stepped out of his booth and chased after me, screaming threats about how he was going to kill me. I honestly don't know how I managed to sprint fast enough to reach my car.
Broken bones in Health ·
Here is the situation in a nutshell...
I suffered a femoral fracture and underwent surgery involving an intramedullary nail. To put it in layman's terms, I have a 26cm titanium rod secured by three screws deep within my femur. Now, I find myself wondering: has anyone here encountered a similar medical setup?

What are the actual long-term implications if that rod remains in the leg indefinitely?
I know someone who had similar hardware installed in their tibia following a skiing accident, and they eventually had to undergo a second procedure to remove it because any subsequent injury would have necessitated an amputation of the limb.
So, what is the consensus on the pros and cons of removing versus leaving titanium hardware inside the bone?
Anthony Hernandez12, did they actually recommend that you have it removed, or is that entirely up to your own discretion? What are the potential repercussions if that rod remains in place, and what specific material is it composed of?

Donna Chase12, I can’t recall if I’ve already complimented your choice of cake or not, but honestly,
it was absolutely top-tier.
I happened to stumble upon a charming little photo online and thought I’d toss it your way; perhaps it might spark some inspiration for someone here.😁

Sandra Campbell9 said:The wedding cake is usually brought out on a stand somewhere between 10:00 and 11:00 PM (though it varies depending on the couple). The servers bring it over to the newlyweds, who then cut it together and take a bite (some couples choose to feed their godparents or parents, though we certainly won't be doing that 😁). In the meantime, the other cakes are set out on a buffet, and the smaller pastries are served directly to the tables. Once the bride and groom, along with the wedding party, have had their share, the main cake can be moved to the dessert buffet alongside the others, or it can simply stay at the head table if that's what they prefer... It is, of course, available to anyone who wishes to try it. 🙂
That is why I say it isn't particularly vital to me that I feed every single guest with that specific cake, yet I still feel it ought to make an impression through its sheer size. If I am being honest, the part that feels a bit awkward about all of this is that our parents are the ones footing the entire bill for the wedding, so I really wouldn't want to go overboard with the cost of the cake. I suppose I will just have to find some sort of middle ground, if such a thing exists. 😛

Personally, I don't feel the need for a cake that demands attention through sheer size. Most likely, we will just have one small, elegant cake for ourselves—placed on a beautifully decorated stand so it still stands out—and then provide similar small individual cakes for the guests, perhaps having ten or so extras just in case. I won't be doing a traditional dessert spread, but at the buffet, we'll have chocolate fountains surrounded by bowls of fresh fruit; so if anyone finds themselves lacking in cake, they can always satisfy their sweet tooth with chocolate-covered fruit. 😁
