My mother-in-law is driving me absolutely insane because she keeps trying to touch my stomach!!!!!!!!! I have told her a hundred times already that it makes me uncomfortable and she needs to stop. Her only response was some nonsense about how it's her grandson's body too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🙂 Like hell it is, he's MY stomach, lady...🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

Melissa Grant69 said:For those who actually have experience with the saxophone band out of Indianapolis, is it true they play those traditional folk tunes on the tamburica? If that’s actually the case, it would be pretty much perfect 🙂 everything in one package 😁

It’s all electronic beats now, no more traditional instruments... ☕

nimbleviper15 said:Hey everyone,
I have a question about shopping in St. Louis. Since I went to school in New York City, I know exactly where to go for wedding supplies—things like invitations, thank-you notes, or even those little cardboard dessert boxes—but I’m feeling pretty lost here in St. Louis. I'm not sure what kind of shops carry this stuff or even what they're called around here. Any advice on where to shop, besides Good Partner?
Thanks in advance. ;-)

There's a Good Partner right where that former singer used to perform (near the grocery store over on Trpimirov)... you should be able to find everything you need there.

velvetwalker742 said:Honestly, Carl Clark, you can find stuff like that all over the rural Midwest... if you happen to have some friends or family out that way, maybe they could lend a hand? I’ll check with my grandmother; she actually sells it (not to me, obviously), and if I recall correctly, it goes for about $4 or $5 a gallon... (though at a gas station, you're looking at closer to $10 :rolleyes). If you don't strike gold nearby, just shoot me a DM and we'll figure something out! 😉

Look, there's some near me, but it's total garbage... they dump so much sugar in it that it's actually ridiculous. 😢
If I can't track some down, I'll let you know. 😉

Hey,
does anyone know where I can pick up some decent, authentic local moonshine?

I know where to find them over by the Walmart, but that’s a bit of a trek for me. If anyone knows a local spot in town, please let me know... and maybe the price too? Otherwise, I guess I'll just head over to Fort Wayne to get it printed!

Did you check at the Vegas location? I think I saw them carrying 🤷☕

Justin Chavez19 said:Hey everyone!

Does anyone have a good catering recommendation in the Midwest, specifically near Indianapolis? I need something for a little get-together at my place before the wedding.

By the way, the Google band is playing my event. I haven't seen them live yet, but I see nothing but good things about them on here. They’ve been incredibly professional during the booking process.

I went with Nutrition Catering. They were easily the most reliable and friendly crew out there.

cosmicnomad22 said:Thanks. I was actually planning on just getting some standard small ones, but if I can't track those down, I might just grab yours... I had a few left over from before and tried making a couple of repairs using basic safety pins, and honestly, they seemed to do the trick well enough!

I think I spotted those kinds of safety pins at one of those The Ten stores (you know, the ones where everything is just a couple of bucks 🤣)

cosmicnomad22 said:Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone might know where I could pick up some small lapel pins in the Indianapolis area or somewhere nearby? I'm looking to get about 250 of them, and if anyone happens to know what the typical pricing looks like lately... Thanks...

You can find some in Indianapolis at Vegas, I think they had sets of 50 for about $23. (I'm assuming you mean the One T pins 🤷)...

Does anyone happen to know the standard number of cookies one should offer guests? I’ve heard people suggest anywhere from 15 to 25, so I’m feeling a bit conflicted. Also, does anyone have recommendations on where to find the best deals on gift boxes? Thanks! 🙂

The lady who handles our catering told us to pack about 10 to 14 cookies per box, which I think works out to roughly 8 to 10 ounces.
I suggested sticking with 12—that's definitely the sweet spot. 🤷

I’m bringing a little bit of that Midwest charm to the mix... I’ve realized that getting professional thank-you cards printed is getting surprisingly pricey (since I’m insisting on that ultra-minimalist look—just crisp black ink on pure white paper, and they’re charging me $1.50/piece for it), so I think I’ll just print them myself at home after I pick up some high-quality cardstock. However, I do have one nagging question floating around my head—does anyone happen to know where I might be able to rent some round tables out here in the Midwest? I checked with the folks over in Indianapolis, and they told me they don't have any available... 🤷
On a side note, the banquet hall at the Park Hotel in Indianapolis is, frankly, an absolute eyesore. One wall is a garish red, another is this dark wood brown, and then there's this peach-colored one that really completes the disaster. But, the manager did promise me he’d repaint everything white, so perhaps there’s a glimmer of hope for the aesthetic! 😂

If you mean round bar stools, check out Vigus in Indianapolis, but if you need full-sized tables for a hall, I'm stumped. No clue here. 🤷

urbanpanther18 said:Ugh, Bijelić is out of stock right now. Called them up😢 looking elsewhere, though we did ask two different places if they could pull some together for us.

They managed to get me 150 units in just seven days, so maybe just hang in there a bit.
When I was talking to the warehouse manager, he mentioned that if nobody is buying the bottles, they just send them off for disposal—so you might have actually timed this perfectly—and it was my first time 🙂
but they ended up delivering them right to my door at a local pub after a week; I just picked them up, paid the bill, and that was that.

urbanpanther18 said:Does anyone know where I can grab those little Orangina bottles? Also, what's the damage on price... How many did you guys end up buying for your guest count? thanks🙂

Over at Bijelić's place in Indianapolis... $0.17It’s just one piece...

I ordered 150 pieces for a guest list of 250, but now I'm starting to think I overdid it... I probably should have just gone with 100.
I'm looking at three different pizza varieties for 23 tables—that brings us to 69 pieces, leaving a little extra for change... I miscalculated slightly, but whatever...

I honestly think my husband is going to go with the matte finish; I've never been much of a fan of those shiny ones...
Matte just feels like a classic look to me—you can wear it anywhere and it works for just about everything.
