Angela Wright said:Usually it's blood work and a PET scan, though I guess the doctor just decides on the frequency based on the specific case. If I remember right, maybe a PET scan happens once a year? I can't be totally sure.

But wait, what specific things are they actually looking for in the blood work? I seem to recall back when we didn't even know what we were dealing with, the blood tests didn't show a thing. And isn't a PET scan basically just a regular CT scan? Like, what's the actual difference there?
Can anyone walk me through what the follow-up process looks like after beating lymphoma? I'm wondering if they track specific markers or something like that?

I mean, did we actually pull it off with Andrei Kirilenko? 😍

Los Angeles Lakers - Phoenix Suns -7.5 1 @1.85
The home team is finally starting to find their rhythm and actually look like they might fulfill their potential, whereas the visitors? Man, they're looking pretty desperate. They've been getting hammered lately with scores of 00+, and I honestly expect more of the same tonight. I’m betting that Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol are going to absolutely shut down Luol Deng, effectively neutralizing the Suns' biggest offensive threat. The Suns are already struggling big time on the defensive end, but facing Kobe Bryant, DH, and Gasol... I mean, it's not even just that they won't be able to stop all of them—it's that they barely have a prayer of stopping even two out of the three.
Andrei Kirilenko over 17.5
Brenda Bishop74 already covered most of this above, but honestly, I don't see anyone else on that roster capable of putting up numbers besides Andrei Kirilenko. Last time he was out there, he managed to clear the line by 9 points while taking "only" 12 shots. I’m feeling like he gets a few extra looks tonight, making this an easy win.

San Antonio Spurs - New York Knicks -5.5 1 @1.85
So, we’ve got two teams that have absolutely crushed their season openers. The visitors are still undefeated, but the Spurs have actually played two more games than they have. Honestly, the Knicks have looked pretty dangerous this season, but I don't think it's going to be easy for them to keep that streak alive playing out in San Antonio. I'm guessing Greg will just sort out the game plan pretty routinely; the Knicks aren't exactly known for having the most disciplined tactical approach anyway. Coming off that win against the Lakers and starting the season so strong, I really feel like the Spurs can keep this momentum rolling and take down the Knicks. Their team defense is looking sharp, and I honestly think if they play together, they can shut down Mel, who's basically the best scorer in the league right now, which would effectively neutralize the Knicks too.
Chris Bosh over 18.5 @1.85
It’s pretty obvious what’s happening here—Dwyane Wade is likely out tonight. Plus, LeBron James isn't forcing as many shots as he did in previous seasons, which makes sense since he has enough high-quality teammates now that he doesn't need to carry the whole load on drives and jumpers. Denver has one of the weakest defenses around, especially under the rim, particularly after Nenea left last season. Since he'll be matched up against Javale, I see Chris Bosh really exploiting this matchup. He's faster and has a killer perimeter shot, so I think he'll use that combo to hunt for buckets tonight. His role is probably going to be even more vital given that Dwyane Wade might be sidelined.

Philadelphia vs Detroit under 187.5 @1.85
Just two defensive squads here. The home team is likely missing their best guy for a while, and yeah, I'm talking about Bynum. They're also without Kwame, so they're pretty thin at center. These guys usually score a bit less than 91 points per game and mostly grind out wins through solid team defense—which isn't exactly shocking since they don't really have a massive superstar. On the other side, the visitors are one of the rougher teams, averaging just over 91 points themselves, and they rely heavily on defense too. Stuckey and Corey Maggette are questionable today. All in all, you've got two defensive-minded teams facing off, so it’s no surprise the odds dropped to @1.70 on Supersport and Pinnacle even lowered the line to 185.

If they played an extra quarter, maybe it would've hit the over.🤣

I’m totally with you on this one. Last time I caught him at 11.5 and it went over without much trouble, and now Pekovic is out and they’re facing a weaker Charlotte squad.

There are plenty of offers out there, but honestly, nothing really catches my eye except for this one.
Orlando vs New York @1.65
What can I even say? The Orlando Magic are easily one of the weakest teams in the league right now. They’re missing Turkoglu today, Harrington is out, and Nelson is a total question mark—even if he does suit up, he probably won't be at a hundred percent. On the other hand, you've got the Knicks, who have had one of the strongest starts in history. They've beaten everyone so far, including Miami. Anthony is leading the league in scoring right now, and Kidd is doing an incredible job facilitating and finding shooters. Everything just seems to click for them. They look like a real cohesive unit and might actually be a threat this season, maybe even more than last year. Meanwhile, the home team was absolutely pathetic a few days ago in that embarrassing loss to the Nets, and they lost to them on Sunday too. I seriously doubt they can hold their own for more than a single quarter.

You actually had a better pick there 🙂 Man, Kirilenko would've handed me a nice little win, but I guess I shouldn't be trying to go solo on Portland 🙂

We probably need official confirmation first. It'll likely be about an hour before tip-off, so I doubt we'll hear anything sooner than that.
Anyway, if they don't suit up, I'm betting big on a Portland win.

I’ve already got some action on them, but I might double down if those injuries hold up—though honestly, I’ll probably be passed out by then.
I just don't have the patience to wait around; I'm gonna load up and see what happens. 😬

And what are they even doing with Andrei Kirilenko🤣 I mean, I guess your pick should probably hit, but I ended up taking Portland -2.5 just because it felt a bit more solid to me.🤷

Kirilenko over 11.5 @1.85

With Dirk out under the rim and their defensive specialist Marion missing—who usually keeps guys like Kirilenko in check—things look shaky for Dallas. They’ve been giving up over 100 points per game this season, and they just let the Bobcats drop 101 on them in their last outing. Looking at the stats, they’re giving up about 18.4 points at Kirilenka's position, and honestly, that number is even higher when Marion is actually on the floor to help out. Last game, they surrendered 25 points to that MKG rookie. Plus, the Wolves are absolutely decimated by injuries right now; they've been without Love and Rubio for a bit, and tonight they're also missing Budinger, Roy, and Bare. I guess most of the heavy lifting is going to fall on Pekovic and Kirilenka, who I think will definitely have to force a few extra shots tonight just to keep up.
Portland – Atlanta -2.5 1 @1.85
Portland has been looking incredible at home this season, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. They had a great showing against the Spurs a couple of days ago, even if they did end up losing. Lillard is absolutely cooking this year, while Aldridge and Batum are doing their usual thing to keep them afloat. Atlanta is still a solid squad, but man, they really struggle on the road. They’re heading into the Rosa Garden right after a brutal road trip and a loss to the Clippers yesterday. They played well enough, but the home team eventually broke them. Now they’re playing without Joe Johnson, and since this is a back-to-back, I’m thinking it’s going to be a long night for them. I'm leaning towards another loss here.

wiredcanyon39 said:OKC -9.5 @1.85
Everyone knows OKC has an absolute beast of a squad right now. They usually just steamroll opponents at home, especially when they run into those lower-tier teams from the East. I mean, Cleveland is showing flashes of talent, sure, but they aren't really going anywhere for the next couple of seasons. Irving is their main guy, but tonight he’ll mostly be leaning on Westbrook—who’s a hell of an athlete—and maybe they'll throw a defensive specialist like Sefolosh at him. That duo should pretty much shut him down. Varejão has had a decent start to the season, but trying to get anything significant going against Ibaka / Perkins in the paint tonight? Good luck with that. Their two biggest scoring options are basically going to be smothered, so I don't see OKC having any trouble dropping a hundred points through KD, Westbrook, and Martin.
I totally agree with you regarding the Clippers, especially seeing how bad Atlanta is playing on the perimeter. Honestly, I think Paul is going to tear them apart tonight. I'm also taking the Nets and Orlando—it's pretty self-explanatory. You've got two weak teams without any elite scorers, so overall, it feels like an under to me.

OKC got off to a pretty rough start, but somehow they’ve managed to pull ahead and take the lead already. 😍

OKC -9.5 @1.85
Look, we all know the OKC Thunder have a killer squad right now. They absolutely tear through opponents at home, especially when they're facing those bottom-tier teams from the East. The Cavs show a little flashes of talent here and there, I guess, but let's be real—they aren't going anywhere significant for at least a couple more seasons. Kyrie Irving is obviously their main guy, but tonight it feels like Russell Westbrook might be the one running the show; he’s such a beast physically. They might even throw a defensive specialist like Sefolosh at him, which would be a pretty tough matchup to handle. Varejão has had a decent start to the season, but honestly, trying to get anything meaningful done in the paint against Ibaka / Perkins tonight? Probably not gonna happen. Their two biggest scoring threats are likely getting shut down, so I don't see OKC having any trouble putting up a hundred points or so thanks to Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and Andre Martin.
I'm totally with you on the LA Clippers, man. Especially when you look at how bad the Atlanta Hawks are on the perimeter lately—I really think Chris Paul is going to just dismantle them tonight. As for the Brooklyn Nets and Orlando Magic, I'm leaning the same way; both are struggling squads without any real elite scorers, so it's looking like a total under to me.

Alright, here are a few picks for teams that basically "have" to win today:
Sandnes - Stromsgodset 2 @2.00
There are only two rounds left in the USL Championship, and the visitors are trailing the leaders, Molde, by just one point—plus they’re sitting three points ahead of Rosenborg. If they actually want to stay in the title hunt and keep that gap over Rosenborg, they really need to take care of business against a Sandnes side that’s currently scraping along at the bottom of the table.
Stabaek - Songdal 2 @1.80
Songdal is sitting just one spot above the relegation zone, so if they slip up today, they could easily tumble right down into it. On the flip side, the home team is dead last and doesn't have a prayer of staying up. Honestly, this game probably means nothing to them at this point; I wouldn't be surprised if they've already mentally checked out for vacation.
Mjondalen - IF Ham Kam 1 @2.00
The home side is just two points away from the promotion zone. Since it's the final round, if they want any hope of pulling off that big promotion push, they pretty much have to win. As for Ham Kam, they're stuck right in the middle of the pack—neither fighting for anything big nor worrying about dropping down. They're just kind of... there.
