I had this encounter with a pregnant woman this past Saturday night that honestly left me feeling pretty frustrated. She was standing right outside a bar where some loud karaoke party was going on inside; she was just leaning against the wall, looking perfectly fine and healthy, but she had a cigarette in her hand. I guess I just found the whole sight incredibly disappointing... and it definitely rubbed me the wrong way. 😠

Scene 1: Random Guy: "So, when's the big day?" Me: "November 10th." Random Guy: "Oh man, that’s a Scorpio... uhh... maybe you should try to push it back so it's a Sagittarius instead." WTF?
Scene 2: (My friend's mom) Her: "Oh my goodness, you look like you're about to pop!" Me: 🙄 Her: "How much longer?" Me: "6 weeks." Her: "Gosh, I just hope you can make it through two more weeks so you hit the third trimester and can finally catch your breath. Is it a girl or a boy?" Me: "Nope..." It's Johnny 😍 Her: "Aw, it's such a shame it's not a girl, especially since he already has a sonb> (yeah, he has a son from a previous marriage)... 😲 And oh my gosh, how many times have I heard variations of that exact same thing... "Oh, another little boy..." "Ah, it would've been better if it were a girl since he already has a son..." I mean, seriously... so what if he already has a son? So what, he gets to have another one too! ☕ Besides, this is my very first baby... 😍 Honestly, everyone needs to just get off my back (as Tony would say) 🤣
And as far as shopping for clothes and gear goes... honestly, I would have loved to start buying everything the second I found out I was pregnant, but hey, who am I kidding, nobody's letting me do anything! 🤣
I honestly don't get people who act all judgmental just because I'm a Scorpio 😠. I’m actually pretty proud of it, and honestly, so is my husband since he's a Scorpio too...
I mean, someone has to be born under that sign, right? 😠
Technically, I should have been an Aries, so my mom actually suggested I try to move the baby around a bit so it wouldn't end up being too much of a troublemaker... 😕😕
I honestly can't even squeeze into my jeans anymore. 🙂 Everything seems to be low-rise lately, and they’re just digging into me. I feel like I'll be stuck wearing leggings and tunics constantly unless I ask my mom to help me pick out some actual pants for this cold weather. I've put on a few pounds, though I suppose it's mostly just because the baby is growing, which explains why my old denim is feeling so tight.
I really need to go shopping, 😍 but I have to admit, I'm dreading it. 😉
Here’s what caught me off guard today—and honestly, it wasn't exactly a pleasant surprise.
I headed in for my blood work this morning, arriving at the clinic right at 7:05 AM, only to find the waiting room already packed. I walked up to the reception desk and politely asked the nurse if she could perhaps process me first; I explained that I wasn't there for any major procedures or donating blood for pregnant women, just needed a few vials drawn. I even showed her the orders clearly marked for pregnancy monitoring, but she just gave me this blank look and told me I had to wait in line like everyone else.😠 I mean, if they have signs posted saying pregnant patients get priority, what is the point of having them?😠 I ended up sitting there for 45 minutes. It wasn't that I couldn't handle the wait, but I was really trying to avoid dealing with dizziness or nausea on an empty stomach.
So, my boyfriend's grandmother actually asked me if I was gaining weight. 😲 Specifically, she asked if I was pregnant.
In her local dialect (to quote her): "Are you just soft and doughy?" 😲 It felt like she was treating me like some little piglet instead of an actual adult woman.
I guess only people from certain parts of the Midwest would truly get how insulting that feels.

She insists that nobody understands her, claiming she’s the perfect mother, the ultimate mother-in-law, a tireless worker, a saint, and so on. But anyone who has stepped foot in her house or seen her sons before they moved out sees right through it... it's laughable to me. And poor thing gets lost in her own web sometimes. The other day, she ran into a friend of mine whose husband did some tiling work for us. We paid him in full, but the friend doesn't know that. So, she tells my mother-in-law: "Oh, I just had my son deliver some tiles to the house, you know, they arrived much closer than they should have..." but we aren't even bothered by it!!!
I truly admire people like that (sarcastically, obviously)—the sheer audacity required to sit there and lie about yourself so brazenly.
But then again, when I’m feeling naive and want to believe that not everyone is inherently dishonest, I end up getting burned. I suppose I'm lucky I have a boyfriend who assumes everyone is out to get them; I guess we balance each other out. 😁
I honestly don't see the point in lying, especially when the person you're deceiving already knows the truth—kind of like that situation with your mother-in-law... but I have to hand it to you for that response!
It’s honestly been such a struggle today. I’ve felt nauseous and dizzy almost the entire time, which makes me feel incredibly lazy because I can barely even sit up, let alone tackle something like washing the dishes or getting anything else done. Even basic smells are driving me crazy right now; I just can't stand any kind of strong scent. I haven't actually thrown up yet, but I feel like I'm hovering right on the edge of it, and frankly, that's pretty terrifying.
Anyway, I guess I just needed to vent for a second.
