Sam White62 said:Oh, obviously it doesn't just happen by magic. But me, pushing a full cart: excuse me, sorry: I shove everything toward the express lane for pregnant women and tell the cashier, "Excuse me, I'm pregnant, can I go now?" If she turns me down, she risks me calling her manager—which stops the whole line and creates a massive scene during the shift. So far, no one has dared refuse me. One woman once said, "if the others let you," and I politely pointed out that she was currently working the PREGNANCY AND DISABILITY LANE, so maybe some other pregnant lady—or someone with a prosthetic limb—could let me through instead.
 🙂
I was at Walmart today returning some bottles for the deposit. I didn't even say a word, I just stood there and three people actually let me cut in front of them immediately. Then, when I went to the maternity lane with my receipt, the cashier almost shut me down instantly, but then she saw my bump and muttered under her breath, "Ugh, she's pregnant, I guess I have to let her through."
Honestly, I’m starting to get pissed off just thinking about it: how much longer? And I’ll probably be stuck listening to this nonsense for days until she finally decides to get out there.
It’s driving me absolutely insane—I’ve called the Mercy Hospital maternity ward 161 times and I still can't get an appointment 🙂 The phone is either dead, busy, or they just ignore me. I finally got through to a nurse a little bit ago, and she just goes, "Call back later," and hangs up on me! Now, of course, the line is off again 🙂 Seriously, how am I supposed to actually give birth there if I can't even schedule a basic checkup? 🙂

It drives me nuts when I answer a question about what we're naming the baby (and let's face it, I'll be sick of that question soon enough 😁), only to get a reaction like, "Oh my god, nooo, that was the name of some girl in my middle school who always had a runny nose!" Seriously, who cares about their random childhood memories when it comes to picking a name?! Big thanks to everyone for all the "constructive" advice you're so generously showering on a poor soul like me who clearly hasn't a clue. 🙄
I already left a comment on my mother-in-law's post: she's not going to like the name anyway because it's the same name as that neighbor she's constantly feuding with.
I drove during my first pregnancy even after my due date, and I’m still behind the wheel now. But get this—when I went to renew my driver's license, the doctor actually asked if I knew how much longer I was allowed to drive. I had zero clue, and he goes, "Oh, you should stop by the seventh month." Like, what? Is he worried I'll go into labor mid-commute and have a total meltdown behind the wheel?
And honestly, it drives me insane how my mom keeps trying to change my daughter's name. She’s already sixteen or seventeen years old! There is absolutely no way we are changing it. But she just won't shut up about it, constantly going, "I would choose this" or "I'd prefer that." 🙂

I honestly don't have the energy or the patience left to answer the phone when it rings. I really don't.
That’s exactly how it went during my first pregnancy—I ended up going nine days past my due date. 😁 That’s why I’m telling you, my appointment is set for May.
shadowheron24 said:It honestly drives me insane how my mother can't let a single moment pass without lecturing me about how she was working 19-hour shifts back when she was only 22, and how things are obviously going to be even harder for me since I’m pushing 30. Well, thanks for that burst of positivity, Mom! And my mother-in-law? She absolutely kills me every time she calls, acting like she’s just counting down the days until I give birth so we can finally bring the baby over for her to raise—she even suggested the kid could stay with her until they start school. As if I’m having a child just so she can play parent! Not to mention, I already know exactly what's coming once the grandmas start keeping score over who's babysitting more. 🙂
I went through the exact same thing with my mom during my first pregnancy... but if it helps, mine was only 4 hours and way easier than hers 🙂
ironjackal20 said:The worst part is that this was the first time, and it happened specifically because he insisted we shouldn't tell anyone, even though I'm completely on board with keeping things private. Kudos to everyone who claims they announce it immediately and everything turns out perfect and happy. In my case, I didn't even find out about my first pregnancy until after the miscarriage, and that was only because I ended up in the ER with complications following a D&C, and my ex—who I stayed with for years—ended up calling his mother to tell her. So yeah, I just had terrible luck. 🙂
I totally get you. My partner and I agreed to keep things under wraps for a while, but then he blabbed to his mom, and she told the loudest woman on our block. Before I was even seven weeks along, the whole world knew—even my hair stylist.🙂
quietmoose48 said:When it comes to how big my bump actually looked, I remember during my first pregnancy, I went into my doctor's office for a checkup about six weeks before my due date. The OB-GYN looked at me, then looked back at her charts, and asked who the appointment was actually for. When I told her it was for me, she just stared and said, "No way, where is your stomach?" 🙂 Because of that, I never really got any special treatment or priority in lines based on how pregnant I looked. Unless I specifically spoke up and explained what was going on, people just assumed I wasn't expecting anything. 🙂
At 36 weeks, I walked into my first checkup at Mount Sinai and the nurse literally asked if I was pregnant. And don't even get me started on my neighbor, who joked that I was going to give birth to a kitten instead of a baby! 🙂 My little girl ended up being 8.4 lbs and 22 inches long. 🙂
I went to see my chiropractor just ten days after giving birth. He’d actually told me before the delivery to get there as soon as I was physically able, since women's bones tend to shift quite a bit during childbirth.
I was absolutely livid because everyone spent my entire pregnancy nagging me about how tiny my bump looked. They kept asking if I was even going to deliver anything other than a kitten! Then, out pops this baby weighing 8.4 pounds and measuring 22 inches long...
The second thing is that I went nine days overdue, and for those nine straight days, everyone was breathing down my neck. "Any news? Did you have the baby yet? How haven't you gone into labor? What did the doctor say?" I was honestly about to snap at them, so I told everyone planning on having a second kid that I’d personally schedule their due date for next month just to shut them up.
today our Dina went to be with the angels 😢...I know it because she was a literal angel🙂. She finally closed those sad eyes of hers (lately) and went to join her dad (that's how she used to put it—that her dad was waiting for her, but she still had enough strength to keep fighting... until today) . I just have to get this out there... 😢 My dear D... I am going to miss you so much. I'll miss all your kind words, your big dreams, and all that optimism you held onto despite the sea of bad things surrounding you. It’s hard, and my heart is aching... I love you so much, truly...
Dear Dina, I'm so sorry we never got the chance to really talk, but maybe it's for the best. I'm sure when we eventually meet up in the afterlife, we'll have much happier things to chat about. I've felt a connection to you for a long time, but when I realized recently that you actually share the same name as my sister-angel, I knew I wasn't just imagining it. Rest in peace, and give my sister a kiss for me. 🙂
Hey everyone, I'm giving away a blonde wig—it's an ear-length pixie cut, in great shape and barely used. Also, if anyone wants two packs of vanilla protein powder, let me know. It expires in two months and it’s such a waste to just toss it... Shoot me a DM. You can pick everything up around New York City or San Jose. Best to you all!
Hey everyone, It’s with a heavy heart, but a sense of peace, that I’m letting you all know my sister passed away peacefully in her sleep last night. She was such a fighter, and honestly, I couldn't be prouder of her.
I'll still be hanging out here reading your posts, and I'll help out whenever I can.
I feel terrible for your sister. How old is she? I’m guessing she’s on the younger side? It honestly feels like doctors show way more empathy toward younger patients and they’re much quicker to admit them to the hospital. Has she been fighting this for a while? What’s the official diagnosis? At least you guys have some peace of mind knowing the doctors are taking good care of her.
She's 39, and yesterday marked exactly one year since her surgery. She was diagnosed with Stage IIIc ovarian cancer. They recently told us her specific type is one of the most aggressive ones out there—some kind of cellular thing, I can't remember the exact name—so even after four different rounds of chemo, she hasn't hit remission; it just keeps progressing. Honestly, the doctors said she's a medical miracle for surviving this long. Last November, they gave her maybe 1 to 4 months, and here we are, having doubled their most optimistic timeline. She has been such a fighter through all of this, and I am so incredibly proud of her!
dustyranger11 said:They sent my dad home yesterday. The "dear" doctor just waved his hands dismissively and pointed him toward his favorite destination: some small town, USA....
My absolute biggest fear is watching what you're going through right now. Honestly, I have to give credit to Petrov and the oncologists there—they really stepped up for my sister when they admitted her, even though she’s turned down chemo (and they agree it's not worth it anymore). They gave her her own room and keep her on IV fluids since she can't keep anything down (she keeps throwing up everything). They’re going to perform an ascites drainage soon, which is super risky for her right now (someone from the family has to sign the consent forms) because she’s insisting on it herself. They are truly doing everything possible to make these final days easier for her...
PS: shadowmason6, I just saw your PM. So sorry, I missed it! I hope I'm not too late. 😢
Melissa Kim45 said:I was honestly going to title this post "Total Meltdown," but I changed my mind at the last second.😁
Hang in there, Melissa Kim45, and don't forget to look after yourself too! It’s a total circus with my sister, too... she acts like a five-year-old on a diet, and the drama she puts us through could be split among four different families, and they'd *still* complain they aren't getting enough attention... Luckily, there are enough of us stepping up to help her out by splitting the load, and we try to keep our own sanity by using whatever sense of humor we have left.
shadowmason6 said:Those were being mentioned somewhere else too. Those ivy injections.Honestly, it feels like everyone just stopped talking about this out of nowhere. How were you guys actually getting them? At first, I thought they were given alongside the therapy itself, but if I caught your drift right, it sounds like you were starting them after the second cycle?
Hey everyone, My sister's been getting those imela injections from a homeopath for months now. We pick them up at that pharmacy near the Dolac market. I honestly can't tell you exactly what they cost because we grab a bunch of different supplements there, so the total bill usually ends up being around... $333I honestly think they’re helping her.
