When my mom had me, I was the first grandchild! And my grandpa just looks at her and goes, "Eh, whatever... you'll have another boy soon enough!" 😲 So, because of how things played out, I ended up being an only child, but she’s got two other grandkids now—my dad's nephews, little guys. To this day, she’s constantly updating their photos on her shelves, while my only photo there is some ancient shot from back in the seventies! 🤣

"What's the point of buying all that? The kid will outgrow it in a week, and you won't even have time to do the laundry anyway..." "Why bother? You know how much free stuff you'll get once the baby arrives, right?" etc., etc.
Yeah, sure. Like I'm expecting someone to drop off size 2-month-old outfits during those first few weeks. Honestly, I'm barely planning on letting anyone through my front door for the first month anyway. ☕
👍 NOT ME!!! Honestly, my priority is the baby's health because I don't want every random relative breathing down her neck, and also just out of pure spite for certain family members who literally didn't bother to check in on me ONCE during my entire pregnancy! They didn't even ask if the baby was okay. So yeah :2up: absolutely no unannounced visits! Leave whatever you've got at the front door! 😬
I honestly can't stand it when people start giving me that condescending crap, acting like buying stuff for my baby is some kind of stupid waste of money or totally unnecessary! ☕ "Oh, just let me lend you some clothes, and then you can pay me back later..." Give me a break. I am really not in the mood to be playing borrower, especially when I have to stress about whether I'm actually fooling anyone or if things are going to get messy down the road... Like, if I can't even cover the absolute essentials, then I'm basically screwed!
Austin Cox10 said:Refrain? Are you kidding me! If everything is going fine, I say go for it—it might actually make labor easier! My sister-in-law was way past her due date and wasn't dilating at all, and her OB-GYN actually told her she should be having more sex. 👍Poor thing was already way overdue and could barely even move by the fifth month... She said she didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Apparently, the sperm helps soften things up. And hey, keeping those muscles toned isn't the worst thing in the world, haha...😍
As for that spatula business, my doctor hasn't even done a vaginal exam twice during this whole pregnancy. It's probably better if they don't poke around too much anyway. Last time was about two months ago, around week 27. Now that I'm at week 37, he hasn't felt the need for another one since everything is progressing perfectly. It's funny how everyone has their own "style"...🤷
Sorry if I'm being a little blunt...
🤣 I love people who are direct! 😉
My doctor did a little vaginal exam every single time, so I guess I got used to it, but damn... it hurts, even if it doesn't take forever. And as for sex, she actually told me no, since apparently sperm helps things open up, so we should hold off until at least week 37... plus, I'm heading in for a swab to check for that damn ureaplasma anyway, so we shouldn't even be touching... 👍 To be honest, the "ban" on sex doesn't even bother me that much, mostly because between the pelvic pain and bladder pressure, I'm really not in a romantic mood anyway... 😁
Sophia Taylor872 said:Hmm, maybe your doctor isn't being entirely forthcoming... I remember when I saw my physician around week 33, she scheduled me for another visit at week 36 and that's when she gave me the referral for the hospital where you go after week 37. It doesn't necessarily have to be exactly at week 37, either; she could have easily squeezed you in for one more visit. And if there aren't any complications and you're still feeling the baby move every day, I guess you shouldn't worry too much.🙂
Yeah, everything seems fine... I can feel the baby moving, so all good there. And yeah, I'm thinking the same thing—my doctor probably could've squeezed me in for one more visit without any issue, which is why I was so caught off guard... 🤷
Sophia Taylor872 said:I honestly find myself wondering where this sudden surge of interest is coming from. It’s quite strange, really—all these people who didn't bother to check in on me once during my entire pregnancy, who didn't even seem to notice or ask how I was holding up, are suddenly flooding my inbox now. It’s just a constant stream of messages asking things like, "Are you still doing okay?" or "How much longer do we have?" or "When should we come by?" and so on... I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised, though; if I actually expected them to care, we probably would have had much better relationships than we do right now. I guess I just have such a distaste for people who act like performers, creating these hollow connections or performing these little social duties just because they feel obligated. It feels a bit insincere when someone talks about dropping by for the postpartum visit, yet we haven't even seen each other once throughout the whole pregnancy 🙄
That’s exactly how it is with my husband’s side of the family. For basically the whole pregnancy, they didn't even ask how I was feeling, then out of nowhere it's "so when's the due date?" 🙄 We're planning on taking some time off work just so we can focus on the baby. And I told them straight up: the only person helping us with the baby is going to be my mom—since she’s an educator, she knows her stuff and can help whenever we need it—besides me and my husband. So, as for you guys coming over for coffee, chatting, and staring at the baby? No thanks. It's flu season right now, which is the perfect excuse for you to just stay away from our little one. Seriously, just back off. I swear, I won't be letting anyone near her... 👍
So I just got back from my checkup and I am absolutely livid. First off, that doctor was digging around with that damn spatula so aggressively I thought she was actually trying to scrape my throat out. Seriously, give it a rest. Second, I’m hitting week 33 tomorrow, and she has the nerve to tell me I don't need to head into the hospital for an exam until week 37! 😕 I was like, excuse me? Why wouldn't I want another checkup with you guys before I'm sent off to the hospital? Aren't appointments supposed to get more frequent after the 29th week anyway??? 🤷 But nooo!! Now I’m just stuck waiting until week 37 to go to the hospital, and then I have to deal with weekly visits right up until I go into labor... 😢 I mean, look, I'm glad everything is fine with the baby, but now I’m just sitting here completely thrown by this whole thing..
Oh, and get this—she actually tells me, "You should probably hold off on having sex." 😂😂😂 Like, seriously? What does that even mean? What am I supposed to do about that? ☕
Man, I am seriously losing my mind today because my little one is just sleeping. This morning she was practically doing gymnastics in my stomach, and now all afternoon it’s just these tiny little flutters here and there!!! Nothing else! But over the last few days? It’s been like having a freaking trampoline in my gut! 😠 I honestly wish she’d just keep jumping constantly!! Forget about sleep... she can sleep once she’s actually born... ☕At least I'm hoping... 😬
cosmicviper21 said:I mean, what can I even say? Honestly, I’m just sitting here feeling completely blindsided by all this. It wasn't like I just woke up one morning and decided to go rogue or anything, or like I had some sudden, impulsive urge to go out and start making Kraft Heinz products on a whim. 🙄 I honestly just want to get this whole thing over with as fast as humanly possible so I can finally pack up, head home with my baby, and never have to look at another soul in that place ever again. Is that too much to ask? 😳 Look, I’m talking about the Mayo Clinic here, and honestly, I have to give props where it’s due because some of the doctors and nurses there are actually decent people—usually, they're pretty alright—but the specific crew I dealt with today? Absolutely pathetic. 👎
It’s honestly pathetic that we basically have to gamble on which shift we’ll end up in when labor starts! Like, back at my old job, you’d get fired on the spot if you were being rude to people! Why is it different with hospitals?! They can go screw themselves—WE pay their salaries! They should be treating everyone like royalty and pampering us like little kids, not taking their frustrations out on us because they messed up somewhere else! I still remember when I brought some fancy bottles of wine for the nurses while my mom was in the hospital... 🙄 Up until that moment, they were acting like total bitches to her, but as soon as they saw the gifts, they were treating her like she was the damn Pope. Seriously, gross!
cosmicviper21 said:I honestly just need to come on here and vent for a second because I am absolutely losing my mind... I’m currently 40 weeks plus 3 . So, I went in for a checkup today, but during my last appointment on Monday, they told me to come back in two days. However, the nurse accidentally logged the date as December 2nd in the system, and since she didn't even bother to correct herself or say anything, I just assumed she meant what she wrote down in my prenatal paperwork, so I showed up today thinking I was good to go. I roll up to the clinic at 8:30 AM, look at the reception desk, and realize there isn't a single pregnant woman in sight. I ask the nurses, and sure enough, my gut feeling was right—I was actually supposed to be there yesterday. Like, seriously, what am I even supposed to do with that? They start calling doctors over before I've even settled in, and I drove in from another city just for this, but my husband has to get to work this afternoon and he can't just sit around waiting until noon... I ended up waiting forever anyway, but whatever, I just care about him getting to his job on time... Anyway, this younger doctor comes out to see me, everything seems fine, and since I had a referral for a Kraft Heinz ultrasound, we head into the imaging room. But as soon as we walk in, there's a nurse and another doctor who starts snapping at me like I'm some kind of intruder cutting the line! And get this—it was the actual doctor who called me in right in front of them! They basically started yelling at me, asking if I even realized they had every right to turn me away entirely. I was so stunned, I almost just turned around and walked out right then and there. I was so close to breaking down and crying, but I wasn't about to give them the satisfaction, you know? So I stayed, the doctor finished my exam, and once we walked out, he stayed behind to probably chew them out, but man, that was so upsetting... I won't name names, but I am just completely disillusioned with the whole experience 👎 not to mention how much I ended up sobbing in the car on the drive home 😢
Oh my god... you know what? Maybe you *should* name names so you can actually process it! And don't do it here, do it somewhere "more public"... It reminds me of something I read here recently about some girl who showed up with contractions and the doctor basically told her, "Ugh, as if I care about some first-timer who doesn't know anything, especially in the middle of the night." 😠😠 That is just shameful!!
analognomad59 said:Honestly, Ginić is driving me absolutely insane lately because he gets so incredibly moody over the smallest things... like, he keeps trying to charge me for ultrasounds $33, which just makes zero sense to me. I mean, okay, maybe I don't strictly need them since I see a specialist privately too, but what if I didn't have that option? If I didn't, I’d basically be paying for three separate ten-second scans just so he can "check if the baby's heart is beating," and that's it 👎. It’s mostly because I refuse to pay him out of pure principle—not that I’m short on $33, but why would I throw away $33 when I’m entitled to free ultrasounds through my insurance? Every single time, I tell him to just write me a referral for the Mayo Clinic, which is literally his job to do, but he just rolls his eyes at me. He acts all offended by the idea of me going to the Mayo Clinic, saying stuff like, "Just let me take a quick look so I don't have to charge you," like he's doing me some huge favor 🙄 . And then there's the thing where I have to explain that I'm not *just* going to the Mayo Clinic, but that I actually go to my private doctor too... 🤣🤣 you know... it's just... well, not 🤣. He still writes my referrals for swabs and prescriptions and all that stuff, and since using a prescription from a private clinic at a place like CVS would cost a fortune, saving money that way gives me enough leverage to go and pester him once a month 🥳 ...
just tell him you're going to Mount Sinai! 🙂 maybe that won't bruise his ego as much! 🤣
I actually have a routine checkup this Wednesday, and since I had an ultrasound at Mount Sinai back on November 18th (also a routine one my doctor sent me for), I've got a feeling my OB isn't going to do any ultrasounds... and that really gets under my skin. Honestly, I'd have them do an ultrasound every single day just so I could look at the baby a little more... 🙂
So, my dad handed me some maternity overalls yesterday... 🙈 There is zero chance I'm fitting into them... 🙄 And of course, I started tearing up, and everyone’s just like, "Oh, well, what can you do? You're pregnant!" ... so I just walked off to go scarf down some leftover pasta from lunch.. honestly, I don't even care anymore... ☕ Tyler Ruiz502 I swear to god, that bra situation! I actually choked on my drink when I read that 🤣
Sarah Adams3 said:Insomnia and nightmares... I woke up around 4:00 AM last night completely drenched in sweat, I had this terrifying dream and was just so scared that I couldn't get back to sleep at all, and honestly, I seem to wake up at the same time every single night and just can't drift off again, I can't find a comfortable position to sleep in, so I'm just incredibly exhausted because of it, I feel like crying all the time and maybe it feels like the end of the world every day... that's all for now...
I've been dreaming non-stop ever since I got pregnant! Mostly just random nonsense...but lately, the dreams have been getting super sexual 🙈 looks like my entire sex life is on hold until I'm done with the maternity leave phase! 🤣
Timothy Moore8 said:I'm right there with you... the nausea, the constant peeing, the back issues, swollen feet... it all passed. Looking back at the whole pregnancy experience, it really was beautiful... hoping labor goes the same way...
NOPE!!🤣
Honestly, when I finally go into labor, I’m actually worried about the nurses. Because if they try to get smart with me, I swear I won't be playing nice 😬 since when I'm in pain, I become absolutely impossible to deal with. And if some pissed-off lady ends up stuck next to me, oh man... huhuhuhu!! I might just accidentally whack her with one of these swollen legs that feel like freaking logs.. 😁
Honestly, reading through all this, I’ve realized that pretty much everything just gets on my nerves lately—but if I had to pick one thing, it’s definitely other people asking the most brain-dead questions imaginable.. It drives me absolutely insane when I’m out in public and some random lady starts staring at my stomach... like, seriously?! It’s not like I’m hiding a massive cheeseburger under there or something, I can see it myself!! As for the whole pregnancy thing—the back aches, my legendary pelvic pains, the bladder issues, and all that—to be honest, it’s all kind of taken a backseat for me, even though I know I’ve been bitching and moaning about it constantly.. Because once I see how badly some women out there are praying for a baby, I feel so incredibly lucky that everything is going fine with my little one. I’ll endure every single ounce of pain and every damn struggle necessary, as long as she stays healthy and happy. 👍
So my grandma called me today... now, just to be clear, I have two grandmas. One is an absolute legend—we love her to death. But then there’s this other one... we don't exactly vibe with her. She's just a total piece of work... first thing out of her mouth was, "How much weight have you put on?!" 🙄 I just looked at her and said, "Hey, even pigs get fat sometimes..." Then she hits me with: "And what about that urinary infection?! What's going on with that? Huh???" I told her everything's fine (honestly, I'm just winging it until my lab results actually come back), but get ready for her logic: "That's because of your OBGYN!!! It's because you go to those appointments every single month!! She passed it to you!! Who even sees a doctor that often?? Stop going to every little checkup, it's not worth the trouble" 😲😲😲 I just played along and told her, "Yeah, Grandma... you're totally right... my doctor is basically a domestic terrorist who carries Ureaplasma germs on her medical tools and spreads them to pregnant women... what a complete nightmare!" 🙂
Hey babe! I’m typing this from someone else's computer because my internet at home just cut out on me (no clue why... maybe I forgot to pay the bill, but honestly, that’s such a lame excuse...) 😬
And there's zero news to report... I actually got into it with my man again yesterday too. He pushed my buttons all the way to the moon, but whatever, let it slide... I miss him like crazy, though, because he's working from sunrise to sunset, then he gets home and starts picking up extra side gigs, so he doesn't even walk through the door until like 9 PM... meanwhile, he's out the door by 6 AM. So I'm sitting here moping while he's just totally blowing me off with his nonsense. Ugh. And after everything I do, being such a sweet wife... cooking for him, keeping the place spotless... YEAH, NOPE. I am officially DONE. 😁
Ronald Davis22 said:I honestly cannot tell if it is the hormonal shifts at play or something else entirely, but I find myself weeping quite frequently lately, gripped by this irrational fear that I will end up being a subpar mother—that I simply won't possess the necessary nerves or the patience required to pull it off. My husband tries his best to soothe my anxieties, telling me we'll just take it one day at a time like everyone else does and that everything will eventually settle down, but frankly, his comfort falls on deaf ears right now..😢 as for the bladder pressure, the bone aches, and the discharge—well, let's not even go there.....😁 thank goodness I am finally starting to count down the weeks.😍
Look, I don't spend a single second worrying about what kind of mother I'm gonna be... 🤷 You're gonna be a great one!!! How could you be anything else?! Sure, you might screw up sometimes—we all do—but you just fix it and move on... I'm too busy thinking about how much I can't wait to finally hold her and shower her with love... lately, I've been daydreaming about our trip to the Florida coast and wondering if she'll end up having my birthday too (which is totally possible 😍), and if she'll look exactly like me... 🙈
Lately, I've also been obsessing over what my little peanut is actually gonna look like... it's all I can think about!!! 😬
Jesse Evans85 said:😂😂😂 I know the feeling!🤣 But honestly, I'm not even halfway through this pregnancy yet, and I'm already terrified of what the rest of it is going to look like.
As for me, those damn hormones didn't even start messing with my head until about a month ago... 🤷 everyone deals with this stuff differently, I guess.. it isn't even constant or lasting forever either. What's really killing me is the constant pressure on my bladder... and that ache in my "pelvic bones"... ugh... it seriously hurts like crazy... but hey, what can you do? just gotta push through it! 👍
Patrick Grant14 said:What has truly grated on my nerves over this past week is being constantly soaked🤷. If I dare to laugh, pass gas, get out of bed, sneeze, or even cough—a cap or two is practically guaranteed—and it stays like that all damn day. I’m burning through pads and changing my underwear more often than I ever have in my entire life. I swear, I’m cleaning myself up at least twenty times a day.
I am utterly fed up with this whole ordeal.🙂
I actually posted the other day about how it feels like everything is just leaking out of every single opening in my body! Between the constant dribbling, the discharge, and sometimes even leaking milk from my breasts... it's just non-stop... 🙈
