God, honestly, am I really the only person on this planet who would actually try to do some prep work and find out what paperwork is needed to register a newborn before it even happens? 🙄 I mean... a few days ago I went down to the registrar just to ask about the requirements, especially since my partner and I aren't married. I walk up to the counter, explain what I'm looking for, and this woman asks me when the baby was born. I tell her "not yet," and she nearly fell off her chair from the shock. She’s all like, "How can I help you if the baby isn't even here?" So I told her I was just trying to get ahead of things and figure out the registration process. It took everything in me not to lose it while trying to squeeze an answer out of her 🙄 Anyway, moving on... Today I headed over to the Department of Justice to grab a proof of residency certificate for myself, because I figured I'd need it to sign up for Medicare & Medicaid and to apply for that one-time local government grant. Since I was already out, I thought, hey, let's just get this done now so I'm not dealing with a massive headache later once the baby arrives. Honestly, I almost lost my mind right there at the counter—if I hadn't, I probably would have taken someone out 🙄 Me: Hi, I need a proof of residency certificate. Her: For what purpose? Me: For registering a newborn with Medicare & Medicaid and for the local grant application. Her: When was the baby born? Me: Not yet. Her: 😲 Well, then I can't issue that to you. Me: But I need the certificate for *me*, not for the baby. Her: You'll get that once you register the child. Me: Again, it's for my own records, and I want to have it ready so I don't have to spend forever waiting in lines once the baby is here. Her: Does the child have a father? Me: 😲 Excuse me???? Of course they do! Look, can I just get the certificate or not???? 😠 Her: You can, but it won't be valid for what you want. (She rolled her eyes so hard I genuinely felt the urge to slap her) Me: What do you mean it won't be valid? Why wouldn't it? Naturally, I didn't get a straight answer from that idiot 🙄 And she's probably somewhere right now telling anyone who will listen about how some "hysterical pregnant woman" came in asking for paperwork today 🙂 whooooooops !!!!!!! So, after waiting in line for an hour (thank God I managed to find a seat), I basically told her I wasn't leaving without that paper even if it was the last thing I did 🙂
Sorry for the long rant, but I seriously needed to vent.
Michael Barrett11 honestly, Jeremy Thomas5 is spot on; you're probably better off not knowing 😘
And all those tired clichés about how "as long as he's healthy and masculine" matters most... 😠 unfortunately, that Neanderthal mindset is so deeply baked into our culture here that it’s basically 🤮 Look, I’m not some hardcore feminist or anything, but I can say with total conviction that even though women are basically running the world these days, we still get pushed to the sidelines far too often. Actually, if you ask me, this whole dynamic started ages ago because some clever guys realized they could manipulate us if they didn't just wipe us out or crush us right from the jump. And well, that mentality has somehow survived all the way to the modern day, especially in places like 😳 The truth is, we’re superior in every single way. 🙏
I really did get lucky, though, because my man wanted a girl even more than I wanted him, 🙂 and most of my family was practically begging for a little girl anyway. 😍
God, people and their incredibly stupid comments drive me absolutely insane 😠 I’m just sitting here in the dentist's waiting room when this old guy asks me how much longer I've got left. I give him a little "get lost" grin and tell him I've still got 25 days to go, and he just hits me with, "Well, as long as it's healthy, unlike those two babies back in Washington, D.C. the other day." 😲 😲 😲 What the ??? Like, seriously???? You absolute moron, you complete idiot!!!!!!!! 🙂 If you don't have anything remotely intelligent to contribute to the conversation, then you really don't need to be dumping your depressing little takes on me 🙂
Rebecca Vaughn7 look, I’ve already told you, you’re the absolute expert on your own body and what it can handle, so if you feel fine at work—and your doctor hasn't gone out of their way to order strict bed rest or anything crazy like that—then honestly, I don't see why you shouldn't just keep going 😉 . Especially since your job isn't exactly a high-stress nightmare.
🙂 Don't even bother apologizing; you're talking about a serious issue here, so feel free to vent to Paul Diaz602 as much as you need.
Rebecca Vaughn7 said:Hey 🙂
I don't even feel like a "real" pregnant woman yet since I'm only six weeks along. This week or next, I'm just praying to hear a heartbeat, but I have to vent to someone or I’m actually going to explode...
So, last Friday, I had some spotting. After overthinking it for ages, I ended up at the ER. Luckily, it stopped. The doctor didn't even see any actual blood—just this yellowish discharge and a tiny little speck, 5+6. So, fine. Whatever.
Today, I had more of that gross pink discharge again. Not red, not brown, just straight-up pink. It lasted a few seconds and then stopped instantly—like a capillary burst or something. But whatever, I just curl up on the couch and call my mom to tell her I won't be coming over this afternoon.
And her response? She basically calls me crazy if I think I need to rest. She claims she bled through her entire first trimester with me and I still turned out perfectly normal. She says I shouldn't even worry about it, that every other woman has a miscarriage these days, and honestly, thank God if it happens to me too because I can just have another one. 😠😢😠😢😠 She even had the nerve to insist it's because I sit and write too much. As if my urine somehow travels from my urethra directly into the gestational sac and causes chaos in there.😠
Nobody on this planet hates resting more than I do. The only reason I still go to work is because it’s mostly a desk job and my coworkers are being easy on me. Plus, I work at a hospital, so I feel safer knowing the OB-GYN department is right there. If I didn't feel the need to calm down, I wouldn't be doing this. But I'm an idiot—I don't have the mental strength to snap back at her that she had the right to decide her pregnancy, and I have the right to decide mine. Instead, I just feel guilty for disappointing her. I feel like I'm not "strong" enough because I can't just bleed, walk to her house, maybe drive her to the mall, and handle it all while delivering a perfect daughter who will struggle to meet my expectations just like I'm struggling to meet hers.
Then she starts lecturing me about how one of my colleagues decided to prioritize her scientific career first and have kids only after she becomes a big name. How she works non-stop, bought a massive 1,000-square-foot condo (while my husband and I are stuck in a studio apartment), and how her husband does all the laundry and cooking so she can just focus on her research and stack up cash...
Well, I'm thirty fucking years old, and I just passed my boards and started my PhD, damn it...🙂 what else does she want from me?🙂
Sorry for this massive shit dump, but I feel so pathetic, like absolutely no one on this planet understands me. To top it off, my husband is talking crap, telling me I'm stressing for no reason and that my nerves will hurt the little one... as if I have an On/Off switch for my emotions! And he keeps nagging me that my heart is racing too much.
Sorry again. 🙂
I honestly cannot believe that bolded part.😲 Look, I'm sorry, but I wouldn't say something like that to my worst enemy, let alone my own daughter.😢 As for the blue part...😂 Look, I know she's your mom, but Biserka is being pretty intense here too.🙄
Just focus on resting and listening to your own body. Right now, YOU are the mother to that little one, and you need to do whatever you feel is best to take care of them! 😘
Oh my god 🙄 I called up a friend of mine just the other day—I’ve still got about a month left until my due date—and she doesn't even say hi or ask how I am, she just goes, "So, what did you end up having!!!???" 😠 🙄
Ugh 🙂 I woke up with this absolute killer leg cramp while stretching in bed this morning, and now I’m walking like a total newborn 😢 As if being built like a stranded whale wasn't enough, now I have to limp around too. It hurts like hell, especially when I haven't moved for a while 😢
I am just completely over it, and I still have a whole month left to go until my due date 😳
Maria Chavez3 said:My girlfriend headed off to the Netherlands about ten days ago... Now that she's back, she’s starting to worry because her period is running late. Could the change in climate be the culprit? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. She’s definitely feeling all the usual symptoms that she's about to start.
Look, let's be real—those PMS symptoms can look identical to early pregnancy signs. 😛 Just grab a Clearblue at the drugstore and settle this once and for all. 😉
Ugh, honestly, dealing with all this weight gain is just 😲 At first, it was constant questions from everyone—like, "Oh my god, how much have you gained?" or "Wow, you're starting to look a little heavy..." 😲 But now, with barely a month left until I give birth, I’ve only put on about 13 pounds, and it’s all concentrated right in my stomach—nowhere else, seriously—and suddenly those assholes have stopped commenting entirely. They just straight-up ignore me 🙄 Or, what I find absolutely hilarious, is how they scan me from head to toe, searching for some flaw to point out, yet they don't say a single word 😛 I mean, hello? A little compliment wouldn't kill anyone.
And my mother-in-law... man, I really screwed myself over there. I genuinely thought I hit the jackpot with a totally cool MIL, but then... 😱 Everything is fine, she actually likes me, but she's started meddling in my relationship with my husband. I can already see where this is heading because if she tries to interfere one more time, I'm not taking it lying down, and when I finally speak my mind, things are going to get messy 😢 If she starts trying to dictate how I raise my kid... I don't even want to think about it right now.
Steven Barrett6 said:It seriously drives me insane when people try to lecture me about my weight like, they start pulling that "you have to eat enough for the baby to grow" kind of nonsense as if "eating for two" means you should just gorge yourself constantly. That’s not how it works.
Or they’ll tell me that gaining weight is always a good thing for both me and the baby—honestly, give me a break. If I gain way too much, it’s not healthy for me OR the baby.
🙄Right, because that's why my husband put me on a diet, clearly a brilliant move. 🙄 And then whenever I mention I'm watching what I eat, I get those judgmental looks and comments like, "Are you being serious right now?" or whatever. 🙂
🙂 Why on earth can't people just put a hand over their mouth when they're coughing or sneezing? 🙂 Honestly, it’s always been a pet peeve of mine, but right now I am absolutely losing my mind because someone just coughed right in my face 😲 And then, of course, I’m the one who ends up looking like a total crazy old lady just for trying to point out basic manners 🙄
Ronald Williams9 said:It honestly drives me crazy how mindless banks, retail stores, and just about every other institution can be. There’s absolutely no mention of priority access for pregnant women anywhere in their policies.
God, is there anyone out there who hasn't been trying to bribe me with cookies and sweets for the last few days? 😲 I’m supposed to be on this strict diet, but apparently, I have zero willpower because 😢 I end up caving every single time. 😠 Honestly, I can't decide if I'm more pissed off at everyone else or just at myself. 🙄
And what’s it to anyone else how big your belly is, seriously? 🙄 It’s exactly how it should be, and it looks damn good. 😛 God, people can be such... 🤮
Do you guys feel like you've caught some nasty, contagious, incurable disease from the second you found out you were pregnant??? Because honestly, that’s exactly how it feels to me, I swear. Suddenly, I have nobody to grab a coffee with, and it seems like this "illness" spreads even over the phone, making it hard for everyone to even 😢take a call. I just feel incredibly lonely and kind of down about the whole thing. 😢
So I walk into Walmart today, right? They’ve got those priority lanes for pregnant women and people with disabilities. Naturally, there are ten people standing in front of me. 🙄 Look, I’m not about to start shoving my way through the crowd—I’m not that kind of idiot—so I just stand there. This woman in front of me clearly notices both me and my bump, but she goes into full-on ignore mode. 🙄 Then, out of nowhere, she turns around and asks, "Are you behind me?" I’m standing there all confused, like, "Yeah..." thinking maybe she’ll let me cut ahead since she saw the sign for General Electric above the register, but instead she goes, "Could you please watch my cart? I just need to grab one more thing." 😲 Honestly, I didn't know whether to burst out laughing or just lose it on her. 😲 The blessed North America, man. 🙄
Michael Barrett11 🙂 Look, I’m not trying to lecture you because you clearly have a clue what’s going on, but calling me a "cow"??? 😲 If you had said that to me during one of our harmless little jokes, you might have caught a punch to the face, but now that I’m pregnant? Forget about it. And honestly, what kind of logic is "being moody" just because he won't sleep with you? 🙄 Tell him to just take matters into his own hands if that's all he cares about in life. What should my man say then—that conception is a matter of luck? Because at the end of the day, that’s how it works, so stop complaining (not that I'm saying he should be thrilled about it), since we both know this isn't some miracle surgery performed by my doctor. It seems to me you really need to sit him down and make it crystal clear that you're already carrying one baby and definitely don't need a second one on the side, because acting like this is nothing more than the behavior of a spoiled brat. 😠
Harold Cook2 look, I waited forever to get pregnant too, and even though I finally made it happen through IVF, I don't exactly share your masochistic streak; honestly, I’m just counting down the days until I can actually have my body back and just enjoy being a mom without all this constant misery hanging over my head. And don't get me wrong—that doesn't mean I'm not excited about this baby by any stretch of the imagination. I just don't see why I should spend my energy trying to convince myself that dealing with all these pregnancy symptoms is some kind of wonderful experience when, let's be real, it absolutely isn't.
Where on earth did these freaking hemorrhoids come from? 😲 😲 Seriously, I have never—and I mean never—dealt with this before, and I haven't changed a single thing about my diet in the last few days to be able to say, "Oh, yeah, that's probably the culprit." And thank God, I don't even struggle with constipation. But it hurts, it's bleeding, and it hasn't let up for four days now. 😢 😲
And honestly, nothing pisses me off more than those former moms who try to convince me that pregnancy was the most wonderful time of their lives. Give me a break. I am constantly in some kind of hellish pain, and I'm only halfway through ☕ Plus, it's even more infuriating when the women who were never even pregnant try to tell me they don't believe me. 🙄
Ugh, okay, I feel a little better getting that off my chest. 😍
I don't know what to tell you people, but if you think I'm going to sit here and sugarcoat things just to make you feel better about your questionable life choices, you're dead wrong. I’m just going to say what everyone else is too terrified to whisper in their own living rooms. It's honestly exhausting how much effort goes into pretending everything is fine when we all know it's a total mess. Anyway, I'm here, I'm blunt, and I'm probably going to annoy you. Deal with it. kaže: Honestly, it’s starting to get under my skin just how much I still don't know about pregnancy and kids. I kept telling myself I had plenty of time to figure things out, but here I am at 17 weeks and I feel like I'm completely clueless about a million different things. It feels like everyone else on the planet was born with this manual or something, while I'm just sitting here feeling totally behind the curve. 👎
I’m feeling the exact same way, and honestly, it’s driving me absolutely insane. 🙄 Quincy:
I can't believe I'm even bothering to type this out because it feels like shouting into a void, but honestly, if we don't start calling out this absolute nonsense right now, we’re all just going to sit here while everything falls apart around us. It’s exhausting, really, dealing with people who think they can just ignore the facts and still expect everyone else to nod along like mindless sheep, but I’ve never been one for playing nice when the truth is staring us dead in the face. Look, I know I tend to ramble and maybe I come off a little intense—I get that, I truly do—but there's something about the way things are being handled lately that just makes my blood boil, and I refuse to stay quiet just to make things comfortable for people who clearly don't care. I can't even begin to process this level of nonsense without feeling like my brain is actually melting right in front of you people. It’s honestly impressive how anyone can look at such a blatant disaster and try to spin it into something resembling logic, though I suppose that’s just life in America, isn't it? Everything is a mess, everyone is shouting, and frankly, I’m just sitting here wondering when we all collectively decided to stop using common sense altogether. It's exhausting, really, trying to make sense of a world where the most ridiculous takes somehow get the loudest microphones. Are you actually talking about a nursing bra? 🤷 Look, you don't even have to strip down to your underwear; just pop the cap off. It’s actually pretty damn practical if you think about it.
No, I’m talking about that maternity bra everyone on this forum keeps bringing up. Honestly, I think people are getting the terminology all wrong by calling them nursing bras, but I wanted to double-check with you guys to be sure. ☕
I’ve been dealing with these damn hemorrhoids since yesterday, and honestly, they are driving me absolutely insane. 😠 And I have honestly never experienced anything like it in my entire life. 😢
