I know I probably don't belong here anymore, but honestly, the crowd on this forum just isn't my vibe anyway.

It drives me absolutely insane how my mother-in-law keeps constantly pushing tea or water whenever it gets hot, acting like the baby is going to die of thirst. I gave birth five days ago and the baby is nursing perfectly fine—everything is totally on track—but I made the call to do exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months. I have told her a thousand times that I’m strictly breastfeeding and that extra tea or water isn't what the baby needs, so why the hell is she sticking her nose where it doesn't belong? She just nods like "okay," but then the second I turn my back, she's right back at it doing her own thing.

And another thing—it pisses me off how obsessed she is with the pacifier. I was actually forced to use it because the baby wouldn't stop crying, and since the baby has such a strong nursing reflex, my nipples were getting absolutely shredded—they were practically bleeding. Things are fine now and we don't need it, but she keeps pushing it on us. I've told her over and over that it's bad for the teeth and can mess with speech development later on.
So yeah, I'm hiding the pacifier.

It also drives me nuts that she's constantly baby-talking the little one.
My husband and I have told her a thousand times to stop, that it's not good, but she just ignores us. Sure, the baby doesn't understand anything yet, but she's going to pick up those habits.
That's exactly why the other grandkids still talk to him the way they do—like he's barely three when he's already five—just because she thinks it's cute when he stays quiet.

Seriously, things like this drive me absolutely crazy.

Oh, and one more thing: it bugs me when she tells me I don't even need to lose weight and that being a few pounds heavier is actually better for me right now. Like, why does she care? Why is she meddling in stuff that has nothing to do with her? If I want to lose those ten pounds so I feel better, I'll do it when I feel like it. She doesn't get to decide that for me.😲

I keep tossing and turning, but even moving around feels like such an effort.
I can't even fall asleep on the sofa anymore, which used to be my favorite spot.
Maybe walking around would help, since that's usually the easiest thing for me.
It's so hot, and I absolutely hate feeling flushed; I'm honestly dreading being in the hospital with this heat and discomfort.🙂
I've been buying short-sleeved pajamas, though I think I'd much prefer just wearing some simple undershirts.

I'm right there with you. I can't even remember the last time I actually got a full night's rest.
Between having to run to the bathroom every damn hour and feeling like I can barely get out of bed because my stomach is so bloated, it's brutal.
I am seriously losing my mind over this iron supplement I have to take, it honestly just makes me feel like absolute garbage
And the worst part? You’re supposed to take it on an empty stomach...
If I could just swallow it whenever I wanted, I’d just knock it back right before bed and be done with it, then I'd actually feel okay by morning
But instead, I feel like crap all day long—acid reflux is kicking in, I'm nauseous, I'm puking...
Honestly, it drives me absolutely nuts when everyone starts acting like they’ve got a PhD in my life...
They walk around acting like they're some kind of geniuses, sticking their noses into stuff that has zero to do with them.

I don't see any damn reason why a pregnant woman can't hit the beach. People keep treating pregnant women like they're incapacitated—and I mean that in the loosest sense of the word—like we're all suddenly bedridden or something. It’s obviously better to be by the ocean where you can actually cool off instead of melting on some scorching hot pavement. Plus, relaxation and downtime is exactly what we need most right now...
My take? If you're staying near a major city (like NYC, Chicago, or LA...), there shouldn't be any issues at all. If God forbid something goes sideways, we can always just head home to get checked out.
And let's be real, we aren't kids anymore. Our parents—or even worse, our in-laws—don't get to pull the strings on our decisions.
This is *our* pregnancy and *our* baby, period. We are the ones responsible for them.

I'm due at the end of June, so I'm really hoping to squeeze in a weekend at the coast during my ninth month. I know, I know, it might not be the smartest move once I'm that far along, but still...
I just live for the ocean, and right now, I would give anything just to spend a weekend by the water.
I already told Jason Lee2 that he can spend the whole day grabbing beers with his best man (we've actually done beach trips with them before), while I'll just chill in the rental. Honestly, if I manage to jump in the water even once, I'll be happy as hell. 👍
He’s been teasing me lately, saying he's going to the beach without me. He's clearly just trying to get a rise out of me, but I have to admit, being pregnant makes me pretty hard to rattle. 😕
steelridge13 said:It honestly drives me crazy how every single shirt I own ends up with some random stain right on the chest or the stomach area. Because if the top part happens to be a bit too tight, then the bottom part just... stops working. 🤦 I feel like a messy little kid! 🤣

😂 so I'm definitely not the only one here—every damn shirt I own needs to be bleached because there's always a stain right on my stomach
Steven Reed said:Has anyone mentioned the vomiting yet? 🤔 🤣

I'm here-- 😍
It’s true; I've been throwing up through my entire pregnancy—though these last two months have been the absolute worst. It’s just like that—one minute I'm walking past the restroom and everything just exits my body. Sometimes it starts with heartburn, which is irritating enough, but sometimes it hits out of nowhere without any warning at all.

So it’s not some weird thing, thank God.
Yeah, mine hits with heartburn all the time too.
At first, I thought it was just because I was eating heavy stuff, but now even milk (like making grits...) can trigger it.
It’s driving me absolutely insane how I keep throwing up at night
Everything feels totally fine, but then I head to the bathroom, and just as I'm getting close to the toilet, out comes the "regret"—it just straight up ejects itself from my body for no reason at all.
This started happening in my third trimester (I didn't deal with any of this crap during the first one).
Anyone else dealing with this kind of nonsense?
Jeffrey Barnes16 said:I honestly don't even know where to begin with this list...

1. It drives me absolutely crazy when people announce they’ll be showing up at the hospital once I go into labor—as if anyone actually invited them to be there.

2. When my sister-in-law decides to weigh in on the name I’ve chosen for my own child, questioning why we didn't just go with "xy" instead.

3. When people think they have the right to just reach out and touch my stomach without asking—it’s incredibly intrusive, and frankly, I've never been much of a "touchy" person to begin with.

4. Standing in line with a massive baby bump, only to have some grumpy old man push right past me because he claims standing is too difficult for him—honestly, I’m surprised I didn't just snap at him right then and there.

5. When some guy pulls his car into a half-empty parking lot and parks a mere 20 cm away from mine, followed by a patronizing apology suggesting I probably wouldn't have managed to squeeze in if I weren't pregnant 🤣—which begs the question, how on earth did he even realize it was a pregnant woman's car in the first place?!

6. When my neighbor lights up a cigarette in the elevator just because he can't bear to wait those extra 30 seconds until he reaches his floor.

I'll add more to this whenever the inspiration strikes again.😉

1. Ugh, people are so incredibly stupid!!! We need peace and quiet after the baby comes so we can actually rest and bond with the kid.

2. Like, go have your own baby if you want to pick names. Who does she think she is? No one but her or the father gets a say. God, I hate it when people stick their noses where they don't belong.

4. That's disgusting.

5. Also disgusting. Instead of just apologizing, he gives these moronic comments.

6. I'm not even gonna comment on this one, some people seriously have zero boundaries.

Good grief, is your mother-in-law mine too?

She actually just called me to brag about how her coworkers asked when she was taking her summer vacation, and she made a big deal out of saying it depends on when the little one decides to arrive (my due date is in August). Even though I kept telling her it isn't necessary since my husband will be with me until we get settled, she just insists he should go to work while she stays with me and the baby... Aaaaaa 😱😱

Seriously, it's like they're all the exact same, and mine actually lives under our roof...
She’s planning to take her leave right after the delivery, and acting like if I go into labor early, she'll just jump on disability. I AM LOSING MY MIND!!!
Once the baby arrives, I want to be able to just be alone with her for a bit, at least at first. Only MM Communications is an option; I don't want anyone hovering over me constantly
I want to be able to feed her in peace without someone staring at me or getting in my way...
That's my baby, she had her own

Adam Evans62 said:My mother-in-law is driving me absolutely insane. Maybe I’m just being an ungrateful idiot and she was just trying to help, but...

She called me up to say they already repainted our bedroom at their house (for when we visit on weekends), because I mentioned recently that I wanted to paint before the baby arrives.
The thing is, I wanted to pick out and buy the colors myself 😠, but no, now it’s just plain white again. 😢
And then there's the crib. They went ahead and repainted GE's old crib for the baby. I told them we'd handle it before the baby gets here, but I wanted to get my hands dirty and choose the colors—I had some ideas for something colorful or patterned. Of course, they just painted it solid white too. 😠

Now I’m just pissed off. No one can satisfy me!

I know I’ll look like a total bitch if I say anything or try to repaint it differently. They’re "trying to make things easier" for me, but that’s not what I wanted. 🙂

Sometimes when people try to help, they actually just make everything more complicated.
That's why, for example, I hate it when people buy baby stuff for me or whatever. If you really want to do something, just give me the cash 🤣
I know that sounds terrible, but that's just how it is...
The only person I can actually go shopping with is my mom; I can point at something and say "I want this, not that, this is ugly," without any shame or awkwardness.
People waste money on useless stuff, and you can never actually guess someone else's taste.

rowdyviper7 said:I honestly just got incredibly frustrated out of nowhere because of my aunt. Out of the blue, she decided to lecture me about how we "have" to get married, and then she goes on about how the baby shouldn't have my last name at the hospital, only to switch to my father's surname a few days later. She couldn't even explain for the life of her why any of this matters—it’s honestly ridiculous. It feels so wrong that my dad would even have to go down to the registrar's office to formally recognize the child (seriously, that’s just awful...). I can't stand the thought of my baby being seen as some kind of outsider from day one—that is easily the most offensive word in the English language! To make matters worse, just a few days ago, she was all, "Oh, kids these days, just do whatever makes you happy, times have changed and nobody cares about those old traditions anymore." Now? Suddenly, she’s completely flipped. I have no idea what's gotten into her or who's driving her hormones crazy lately... ugh...

Just tell her to shove it and go to Starbucks with that attitude.
Who cares what she thinks? It's your life and your call.
She should just sweep her own trash under the rug (people like her are usually full of crap and always trying to push their "advice" on everyone else)
Everyone does things their own way, so you do yours. She needs to worry about her own business and leave you alone, especially since you're pregnant and she's just stressing you out with this stupid nonsense.
For example, if you ask me (sorry in advance to anyone I might have offended, nothing personal), getting married while heavily pregnant is way worse. Then it looks like people are only marrying because of the baby. Just have a wedding and a christening together later. Or honestly, just keep living together without being married, just like before.
My coworker seriously sent my blood pressure through the roof yesterday.
She actually had the nerve to look at me and go, "Ooh, let me see my little chunky girl."
Honestly, she can just go jump in the trash! Like, what the hell is her problem?!!!
I’m not "chunky," I’m pregnant. For the record, I’m 140 lbs and 5'5", so if I wasn't expecting, those extra pounds wouldn't even make me "chunky."
If there hadn't been a crowd watching, I wouldn't have stayed polite. I would've shut her down right then and there by saying, "I'm not fat, I'm pregnant."
But obviously, I’ve got way more class and basic decency than she does...

People are just so incredibly stupid. Even if I were 220 lbs, you don't call a pregnant woman "chunky." It's common sense. Plus, I'm already feeling super sensitive about my weight right now, so this really stung...

There are a million better ways to bring something up without being a total jerk...
I swear, ironing is actually killing me
Honestly, walking up a flight of stairs feels way less exhausting than dealing with this iron.
I’ll barely get through a few t-shirts and I’m already gasping for air, needing a break.
I can't tell if it's just because the AC is busted, or if it's the steam from the iron, or maybe...

I’ve never been a fan of ironing, but now? It’s straight-up draining my soul.
Bryan Diaz said:I have to say, I’m really getting frustrated with this nipple discharge issue I've been dealing with lately.

Honestly, I’m actually stoked about it.😕 Like, I know for a fact I won't have any issues breastfeeding later. It doesn't just leak out of nowhere—I can pretty much grab those little drops whenever I want 😍😍😍
I just gotta pull my nipples out a bit first.
Jesse Evans85 said:Honestly, I’ve finally reached my breaking point. The constant barrage of calls from friends and family—both close and distant—pestering me about my current situation is driving me absolutely insane. I am genuinely considering switching off every single phone in the house just to get some peace. If I miss the deadline because I couldn't escape the noise, I might actually lose my mind.

+ And don't even get me started on my mother-in-law. She acts like she has an answer for everything and insists on inserting herself into every little thing, playing the part of the selfless Good Samaritan. It’s impossible to be direct with her because she hides behind the excuse that she’s "only trying to help."

Ugh, man, I really hope I don't deal with that kind of drama,
but people are just so incredibly dense. Like, do they not get that pregnant women need peace and quiet, not a massive pile of extra stress?

It drives me insane when my mother-in-law asks (as soon as we walk through the door) if Peter (that's what my son is gonna be called) was being good.
I mean, hello?! How could he be anything else?! 🤷 He isn't even here yet, so how does that even make sense? It’s beyond irritating.
Right now, he only exists to me, period!!! He’s in my belly and he’s mine!
MM is dealing with this today 😍 😍 😍

So I was cleaning that "clean" room today and found scribbles all over the wall, chocolate wrappers, and candy scattered behind the corner sofa. I snapped pics of everything and sent them straight to him. Cleaned the room up and locked the door.
And I told MM he can get as pissed off as he wants because I am officially done with this crap. I told him if he wants to play the victim, fine—let his pregnant aunt cook and clean for them. I reminded him that I’m getting more pregnant by the day and things are getting harder. My baby comes first, period, and stressing out over this mess helps neither me nor the little one. I married him, not his brother, so I didn't sign up for a package deal where I have to be their maid.

He just said not to worry and that he’ll handle it all today.
I really hope he does.
When something bugs him, he handles it in two seconds. He’s the "boss" of both his mom and his brother.

P.S. For the last few days, we had the garage wide open, and his brother was constantly swiping oil and gas from there. Whenever MM needed it for the lawnmower or whatever, it was gone, and he’d have to drive all the way to the Shell station just to get some, which drove him insane.
Plus, his tools kept vanishing—either the kids were playing with them or his brother was taking them. He couldn't find a wrench once and lost his mind because he had to walk halfway across the neighborhood to borrow a tool for two minutes when he knew 100% it was sitting in his own garage. He absolutely lost it this Saturday, and since then, the garage stays locked tight.

So, I'm just hoping this finally starts fixing the vibe in the house.

P.P.S. That oldest one is the golden child, and he’s always an angel when he’s home, but he drives me nuts and never listens... Honestly, I’m pretty glad that whole chocolate mess happened just yesterday
Alright, time to vent about what went down yesterday.

All four of them were over at our place. Same old story...
So, we have this one "official" room with a display cabinet, right? We had this chocolate sitting in there meant for my daughter—a wedding gift from her godparents. Yesterday, we head toward that room, I check the cabinet, and boom, the chocolate is gone. (The second I stepped foot in that room, the oldest one bolted out the door, claiming he suddenly remembered something he had to do at home.) Anyway, I ask MM if he moved it, he says no, and then we realize the oldest kid totally swiped it.
I don't even know, but the others let it slip that he was hiding some red Lindt bar under his bed, claiming he "got it" from a buddy at school. To make matters worse, he wouldn't even share a single square with them...

Basically, MM lost it. He declared that from now on, that room is getting a lock. He told me—already while we were driving in the car—that until our little one is born, we’re drawing a hard line in the sand. No more freebies. I suggested maybe we should ease into these new rules, but he wasn't having it. He said the shift happens overnight. Some things just need to be understood once and for all...

As for my mother-in-law, she’s honestly amazing. Any daughter-in-law would kill for her, but man, when she gets obsessed with those grandkids, I can't even blame her. If I plate up a steak and some potatoes for her, she’ll barely touch half of it before calling everyone else to see if they want some. I don't even know what to say to her at this point...

Look,
I get that it's normal for kids to come home starving from preschool and need to eat, but they have a mother for a reason. My kids sure as hell aren't going to start raiding the neighbor's house every time they get hungry.
Regarding the cooking situation, they’re always hanging around the house whenever my mother-in-law gets off work...
And as for me setting any kind of boundaries, look... I’ve been a daughter-in-law in this house for less than a year, and if Grandma says it’s fine, I can't exactly go around constantly picking on them, right?

Then there's the whole thing about people just grabbing stuff. Like, this past Saturday, I bought some flavored water, took a couple of sips, and left it sitting on the kitchen table. I stepped away for five minutes, and when I came back, one of them had already finished half of it (the oldest is 9 years old, so he should have at least a shred of common sense by now) and then actually had the nerve to ask me where I bought it because it was so good. WTF?!
We never even keep sweets in the house when guests come over, and I don't even need to explain why.

What really pisses me off is...
We have this one room that we keep spotless specifically for when people visit, and then my mother-in-law goes and puts candy out on the table right in that room—and I don't even have to say it, but that room isn't even clean!
Back at their place, that "special room" is kept under lock and key.
My husband has told them a thousand times that they aren't allowed in that room, but it lasts for a couple of days and then it's back to the same old crap. I am losing my mind.

And don't even get me started on 😠 how when we have guests over, they show up at our place too, looking totally disheveled, wearing ragged clothes and whatever. It’s so embarrassing for me because they look like total slobs, though I'm sure their mom doesn't care. It drives me crazy. Then they just barge in and sit down at the table, and imagine having four more hungry mouths to feed on top of that... Of course, when we invite someone over for a nice meal, I have to cook and prep everything, and then they turn out to be picky eaters again. My husband sort of handled that part, but I honestly wonder how long this is going to last.
I mean, if they're kids, their parents should at least have enough brains for them.

Once I give birth, things are going to have to change. I am not dealing with all the screaming and chaos in this house. I know my husband won't allow it either; he's fed up with them always being here, but since he's almost never home because he works so much, he can't do much... but he did say that once the baby arrives, there is zero chance they'll be hovering around us. He's not letting them create a mess in two different houses.
Every single time they start whining or making a scene, I'm just going to grab the baby and head over to my parents' place (thank God they live less than a five-minute drive away). My mother-in-law can get as mad as she wants, but if she has any sense, she'll realize why I'm leaving.
The worst part is when she asks me, "Oh, are you going to look after our Peter?" (that's what my son will be named). There is absolutely no way I'm handing him over. He won't be near them without me. They are constantly sick, sneezing, coughing—I don't want anyone near my little angel. Plus, they'll probably be jealous, who knows what they'd do to him.

Speaking of colds, they spent the entire winter hanging around our place, sniffing and acting sick.
I mean, WTF?! Did their parents not realize there was a pregnant woman in the house? And then the oldest one is constantly coughing right in my face (again, he's in 2nd grade, he should know better). Not only does he not cover his mouth, but he's literally coughing directly at me.
And while we're talking about his stupidity, one time he took a pencil and stabbed it into some snacks—like those little crackers or fish-shaped chips—and of course, I didn't realize until I was already eating them. I was absolutely livid when I found out. What the hell is wrong with him? He definitely wouldn't do that at their house because they don't even have snacks there, and if they did, he'd eat them in five minutes. I think the lead in a pencil is made of something metallic and toxic. Basically, he put "poison" in our food.

P.S. Sorry for the long vent, but once I start feeling these emotions, I just can't stop typing.
I could honestly lose it on my sister-in-law, but whatever, I'm just totally over this whole mess.

Every single day when I'm whipping up lunch for my mother-in-law, my sister-in-law’s kids (who live right next door) just barge in here to eat. (When I’m cooking specifically for my husband, they don't even dare show their faces because he can't stand it.)
It drives me absolutely insane. Like, seriously, why can't their own mom just cook them something?! Is she actually too incompetent to feed her own damn children?! 😠
I try being sneaky and only making enough for one massive portion, hoping they won't show up every single day, especially since their mom is literally right there at home.
The absolute worst part is how they act all sneaky, peeking through the kitchen window just to see what I'm cooking.
Of course, they aren't interested in just anything—they only want the good stuff. They won't touch bread unless it's that expensive artisanal seed bread or cornmeal stuff I pick up.
And then my husband wonders why we spend so much on groceries, and it's because we're basically feeding his brother's kids.
Or like, if I make a salad with tomatoes and cucumbers, those little monsters inhale it like pigs just so they don't have to share with their grandma or me, and then it's always, "Is there more? Can I have more?"
If I'm making basic bean soup, suddenly they don't want any, but if I make something decent like today—cheese and ham stuffed burgers—then suddenly they're all over us. It drives me nuts. I know they're just kids, but there's a limit. Does their mother have nothing going on in that head of hers?! It's so easy for her to just let me feed her kids while she sits back and does nothing.
The most infuriating thing is that I can't even eat a meal without someone staring holes into my plate. (Yeah, I'm talking about those kids.)
They're at daycare or school from like 8 AM until 3 or 4 PM, getting breakfast, lunch, and snacks there. I mean, seriously, how is their mother unable to feed them for the rest of the day?

On top of that, my husband's brother has four kids who are constantly leaving a disaster zone in our house, and then my pregnant sister-in-law is the one expected to clean it up. Honestly, they should all just go to Target or something and leave us alone. 😠
It's so easy to just spoil kids, and then everyone else has to deal with the fallout.
And I have never once heard a "thank you" from the parents. For example, my husband bought their kids a computer, and nobody even asked how much it cost, let alone said thanks. Naturally, the kids spent two days straight glued to the screen (which kind of parent even allows that?!) and broke it immediately. Then the parents acted like it had nothing to do with them. At this rate, my husband might as well pay to fix it too.
Rebecca Vaughn7 said:It drives me absolutely insane how my ass becomes the center of attention everywhere I go. 😠

Even at work, the cleaning lady is back at it again with her comments.

So I head over to my mom's place and ask her straight up if it's really such a disaster—mind you, I still fit into all my old jeans without a struggle—but she just tells me that yeah, it’s gotten bigger, lost its shape, and looks saggy and gross, like some old lady. 😢

Give me a break. I was on bed rest just three days ago because of some bleeding, and she has the nerve to tell me, "You didn't even need to rest; you'd look the same whether you walked or stayed still, and you'd probably look more normal now."
Then she lights up a cigarette and fills the whole room with smoke (since she smoked while I was being carried around, and now I'm supposedly "back to normal"). 😠😠 😠

Yeah, right. I guess that's what happens when you go from daily workouts to nothing but sitting, lying down, and pacing a hallway. Thank God they finally cleared me for activity, otherwise I'd be totally screwed... I've started walking an hour a day again, so hopefully that does something. 🤷

I would honestly just shut her up once and for all. 🙂 🙂
I seriously cannot wrap my head around your mother. Like, what is wrong with her? She is straight-up unhinged. (Sorry for insulting your mom, I don't know what she's usually like, but this is just a total train wreck).

Yesterday, one of my mother-in-law's friends comes over and tells me how much weight I've put on. Man, I wanted to punch her...
She should have just kept her mouth shut. Her own daughter gave birth a month ago and she was literally huge—like, she was over 220 pounds and gained like 65 pounds during the pregnancy—and nobody said a single word to her.
Right now, I'm at 135, which is still way less than what her daughter weighed before she was even pregnant.
I absolutely loathe those trashy, low-class comments.
I'm 7 and a half months pregnant and I've only gained about 18 pounds. I don't see what the big deal is. 😕
I got a little worried so I gave her a few jabs
And boom, right there she is 😁
My kid isn't some soccer player, he’s a boxer 😍
I get it, honestly. Your brother-in-law’s behavior would drive me absolutely nuts too. Trying to force things like that? It never works. It's just a recipe for disaster.
And all that talk about her stomach? Like, seriously, what is her problem? She needs to mind her own business and stay out of it.
