It honestly drives me up the wall when someone just keeps drilling and drilling and drilling away somewhere in the neighborhood without any intention of stopping.
I’m past the point of being genuinely annoyed, but what really got under my skin last night was my husband—he actually tried to talk me out of being frustrated. 😬 🤦
Anthony Watson35 said:Bus situation today; heading back to my hometown from Washington, D.C. The driver? God help us, what is wrong with these people. At that stop near the Liszt concert hall, he pulls away without even glancing at the rearview mirror, the doors, nothing—he just leaves. This elderly woman starts yelling at him to stop. The idiot just keeps driving. She tries again, sounding totally panicked. Nothing. A few of us join in, shouting "stop !!!" But no luck. The woman finally reaches this moron, right on the edge of a breakdown, practically in tears. She’s old, looks so fragile it breaks your heart. And she keeps repeating, "Please stop, my husband couldn't get on, I have to get off, he has Alzheimer's." And the idiot does NOTHING. Does this half-wit even know what Alzheimer's is, let alone care? The poor lady was BEGGING at the next stop, but this absolute jerk wouldn't even give her the decency of a single sentence. It wasn't even rush hour, no traffic, nothing; he could have pulled over for literally three seconds, let her out, and moved on. When he finally did pull up by the Sun clinic, she barely made it out before tripping and falling because she was so shaken up. That stinking piece of trash just shut the doors and kept rolling like nothing happened—typical ZET-style behavior. Honestly, his sheer rudeness and lack of humanity pissed me off so much that I'm calling their damn headquarters right now to find out where I can file a formal complaint against their incompetent staff. I KNOW it’ll probably go nowhere—because when you're dealing with a thieving monopoly like them, who cares?—but I'm at least going to tell them exactly what I think. Poor old lady... I really hope she found him... 😢
I got so worked up I actually started tearing up. I'm writing them an email right now. May they all rot.
Good grief. 😢 😢 😢 😢 I honestly think I’d be weeping like a child if I had actually lived through that.
My sister-in-law is driving me absolutely insane—and I mean, truly, deeply, irrationally losing my mind here. Honestly, I’m about two seconds away from just throwing a punch just to get some peace and quiet. 🙂
Sean Long4 said:Jerry Fisher3, look, the thing is, she isn't necessarily a bad person, but she just doesn't know when to stop sometimes... and honestly, I have zero interest in getting into a fight with her. I'm just sitting here waiting for my husband to actually say something to her, but he just stays quiet...
I mean, just look at me—I ended up in a huge blowout with my own mom yesterday (it was Mother's Day, after all), and I was feeling pretty low because of it. Then, late that night, my husband calls his mother to wish her a happy Mother's Day... and yeah, that was the breaking point that sent me into a total meltdown.
😢 I don't even know what else to say besides that I feel for you. I really hope you and your mom have managed to patch things up in the meantime. 🙂
Hannah Lewis2 said:Dammit! 🙂 Look, just let it all out. Honestly, cry until you're done; it usually makes me feel better once the storm passes. The only downside is looking like a complete wreck afterward—I get so swollen and red that I don't even look human for a good two days.
I second this.
Sean Long4 said:I honestly spent most of yesterday just crying my eyes out... I was completely useless and totally out of it all day.
And don't even get me started on how much it gets under my skin when my mother-in-law acts like we’re best friends. We aren't buddies—she's my husband's mother, plain and simple.
It really breaks my heart to read about how much these mothers-in-law can throw you off balance. Especially right now, when you should be avoiding stress at all costs. 😢
It honestly drives me crazy when I end up taking my frustrations out on my husband—the poor guy hasn't done a single thing wrong, yet he’s the one catching all the heat. 😢
Anthony Watson35 said:Honestly, I’m having one of those days where everything just feels like too much—everything’s getting on my nerves—but then I read this article this morning and my blood pressure just spiked.
Look, props to the kids, I get it, but seriously... 😲...great, let’s just rush out and produce more of them immediately so the government can foot the bill for them too, right? 🙄 🤦
🤦 I honestly don't even know what to say at this point. A 35-year-old woman with ten kids, and by the time she's 38, she'll almost certainly be a grandmother for the first time. 🤦
Just when I tell my husband that one of his buddies and his new girlfriend are actually great—and how much we enjoyed catching up over coffee at their place last weekend (they just started dating and moved in together immediately, which is a choice!)—we invite them over for snacks, they show up, and my blood pressure hits the ceiling. I’m all about having fresh flowers on the table, and my husband actually picked up some daisies for me the day before yesterday. Now she’s sitting there telling this story about how she HAD to practically force him to run to the store to get her roses. So, I ask her, "Why?" And she just gives me this look—you know the one—and says, "Oh, you don't need me to explain why!" while gesturing pointedly at my daisies. And honestly, 😕 😕 The implication, apparently, is that I should have intuitively known—or better yet, anticipated—that she needed those roses by yesterday morning so she could be draped in blooms, ensuring the Almighty grants her eternal beauty for the rest of the year. 🙄 So, naturally, I mention that I’m not exactly religious—I don't do the whole church thing, I don't follow those traditions, and I have no idea how I'm supposed to check the boxes on a census form. Which, of course, leads to both of them trying to convince me that I AM a believer, I just haven't realized it yet. They’re already projecting my future where I'm sitting in a pew every single Sunday. They even suggested that before I can declare anything other than "Catholic" on a government form, I first need to go to church and clear all my sacraments. 😲 😲
There you go. And right after I told them how wonderful they are and how much I enjoy their company. 🤦
It’s honestly infuriating—this total lack of any sexual drive whatsoever—and I feel just terrible about how it affects my partner. Because he’s such an amazing guy and doesn't push me at all—he actually understands exactly how I'm feeling—he ends up feeling bad for me, which just makes me even more frustrated with myself. It’s this endless, exhausting cycle. Dammit. 😢
Rebecca Vaughn7 said:I am absolutely livid. My sister brought over a toddler who just recovered from congenital CMV, which means he’s almost certainly still contagious. I tried to be reasonable; she asks how I am and if I mind anything, so I attempt to politely explain that I’ve never had CMV before (yes, I actually checked my antibodies). Now I’m terrified. I’m avoiding kissing anyone, refusing to share glasses, and washing my hands about 107 times a day... and what does she do? She just nods and says, "Well, you have to stay healthy now," then lets the kid chew on my remote, drink out of my glass—even though he has his own bottle—and to top it all off, she changes his diaper right on my couch 😠😠😠 The poor kid isn't to blame, obviously, but good grief, does she not realize she brought a walking CMV infection into my house and is letting him touch everything? I am fuming, but I don't want to start a massive fight or look like a total jerk...😠😠😠
All I’m going to say is that you have every right to be "rude"—it’s not even being rude when you’re literally protecting yourself and your own baby. Honestly, screw these socially oblivious people. 😠 😠 Forget her; look out for yourself. :2up: (And look at me, dropping rhymes like a pro! 😁)
I’m honestly getting so frustrated with myself—my sugar cravings are becoming an absolute obsession! 😠 Luckily enough, these little manic episodes mostly hit me during the morning hours; I rarely, if ever, feel this way once evening rolls around.
I’m a firm believer that everything in life eventually falls into place—it just usually does so in the most inconvenient ways possible. Look, I know I’ve basically built this academic disaster zone myself, and I realize I don't really have a leg to stand on when it comes to blaming anyone else. But honestly? I am absolutely livid. And once the anger fades, the sadness hits. It's frustrating because even though I’m the one who dug this hole, I’m still the one stuck at the bottom dealing with it. Earlier today, I mentioned getting a random Facebook message from someone asking me to give them a play-by-play of my college situation just so *they* could "understand" what's going on. Like, seriously? Why on earth would anyone need that much detail?
At the end of the day, nothing matters more to me right now than this baby. All this stress and anxiety—it’s all circling back to her, and that’s what truly kills me. Dammit. 😠
Today has been an absolute disaster. Honestly, I just want to curl up and cry. I am counting down the minutes until my husband gets home so I can finally vent and let it all out. 😢
Steven Barrett6 said:My dad used to drive me absolutely insane with his massive expectations—it actually led to some pretty dark, depressive moods back in the day. But, things eventually leveled out. Now that we don't live under the same roof, we actually get along 😂
I haven't lived with mine for years either, so I’m right there with you. It’s those damn expectations and the constant commentary—it really drags me down. It’s as if they think I don't know my own life; they just feel the need to poke and prod from every possible angle. 🙄
[ It’s driving me absolutely insane—my "best friend in the whole world." Don't get me wrong, I know her intentions are pure, but she just cannot seem to grasp that medical school is not exactly at the top of my priority list right now. Every single time we talk about it, I end up worked up, and frankly, the stress of dealing with all these academic hurdles falls squarely on *my* shoulders, not hers. But I also don't want to dump all that frustration onto my baby, because I truly, honestly, deeply lose my cool whenever this topic comes up. Then, I wake up to a Facebook message asking if I could just send her an email or a DM detailing EVERYTHING I need to handle and everyone I need to speak with—just so SHE can stay "in the loop." For heaven's sake, why? Just... why?!!?! 😕 😕 😠
Paperclip, excellent choice of emoji there. 😬 Mary, fingers crossed everything went smoothly! I’d love to give him a piece of my mind myself! 🙂
Now, onto you. mara40 Honestly, give me a break! Look, thanks for the "vital" info. It's not like any of us knew a single thing about how alcohol, cigarettes, meds, or drugs affect pregnancy until you graced us with your wisdom—since, as you can clearly tell, none of us are particularly tech-savvy (one wonders if we even know how to read) and, of course, none of us bother seeing an OB-GYN who actually graduated from medical school. No, we all just consult shamans who actively encourage us to consume those incredibly harmful substances instead.
And thank the heavens you were sent here to enlighten us. But now? It's time to move on. 👋
Off-topic—it really grinds my gears when I wake up in a great mood, feeling relatively well-rested, brew myself some COFFEE, pour a shot of BITTERS, grab a BEER from the fridge, light up a CIGARETTE, and then stumble upon... this. 🙂
And to all my non-pregnant friends—shame on us!! 🙂 and 🙂 😁
Go ahead and take the test if you want. I did mine right on the day my period was supposed to start—and let me tell you, that positive sign showed up loud and clear. 😁 Best of luck, either way! 😉
