Oh man, please bring Jim back...

Sorry if I'm sounding a bit blunt here... My advice to the owner? First, just clear out all those ancient threads. Shrink the database down. Seriously, who is actually reading stuff I wrote three or four years ago? Who needs topics that have been closed for ages? It shouldn't be so easy for someone to go digging through stuff from over a year ago—unless you're looking to cater to those few total weirdos who spend their time doing exactly that...

At the end of the day, public opinion in this country flips 100% in three months, maybe six if we're lucky. Just look at the administration I actually voted for. They buy fancy phones, get new cars, and then squeeze us dry with new taxes—it’s like they're burying us alive. That's how fast everything changes, except for this forum, apparently.

He hasn't been around since yesterday—not even all night. I can't tell if they're working behind the scenes and keeping it all under wraps like some kind of secret operation, or if something actually broke down on their end. Though, heaven forbid they actually post an update about it...

Adeline is out of the office right now, so don't go poking the bear while it's sleeping in this 100-degree heat...

Ouch, talk about a rough start to the workday... Did you guys notice how dead this forum feels lately?? Like, seriously?? And if you're wondering why—well, if you actually stop to think about it, you'll realize: we've spent so much time tearing into the Secretary, the Department, the whole administration, and so on, that they've decided to just shut us down!!!

Henry Edwards33 said:I already went on a little trip last week, and now I’m gearing up for another one 😉

It's not worth stressing over a three-day window... When the time comes, it'll happen, and there's no point in rushing ahead of schedule 😳

Just walk, fly, and take it easy... Just try not to overheat when it hits those 90-100 degree Fahrenheit days...

Henry Edwards33 said:I'll be riding a broomstick.😉

Honestly, what else are you waiting for before you head out?!? Just go already—you have to pay the takeoff fee for that broomstick upfront, you know. Try to get some rest if you actually can, and regarding those ridiculous claims about "three days"—just tell them you couldn't find out because you were stuck in Greenland...

Does anyone know if that Lili the Monster lady headed out toward the Grand Canyon? If she did, is she planning to pass through the southern parts of the state?? Sorry for being so nosy, I just want to make sure I can head out early if I need to. You never know...

Devilgirl said:Actually, no,😕

Jessica Grant56, an S-tier company, 🙂

Wait, so Superman is actually Devilgirl?? That’s honestly so confusing—though I feel like this keeps happening to me ever since things started getting intense...

Just change it to D! Or better yet, pick a new nickname... maybe Pitom girl. (I'm not even sure how you'd say "pitom" in English...)

It took 14 (!!) officials a whopping 44 (!!) days to cook up this little mess. Their whole goal seems to be blurring the lines even on things we already understood—it's pretty transparent if you look closely. And of course, everyone involved is pulling a massive salary; there's always plenty of taxpayer money to fund this kind of vague, nasty bureaucratic nonsense.

Wait, why does your Nick have an S instead of a D???

Richard Howard55 said:😍 Hah! What a mess that would be. Honestly, probably more chaotic than trying to debug accounting software on a Monday morning. 😍
The real question is whether City Hall would even allow it... mostly because they’d be terrified that some local hooligans would just start running wild without any supervision. 😍

Well, maybe we could tweak the proposal just a tiny bit:

To pull that off, you’d basically have to bury your head under the ocean...

But seriously—I’ve had enough of this terrorist and his tyranny!! Being from an older generation, I’m all too familiar with the tactics used by those old-school Communist big shots, but what we're seeing now feels even worse. Just know this: I didn't bow down to them back then, and I sure as hell won't bow down to these guys now. Every power eventually fades, and no one stays on top forever!!

Don't sweat the small stuff. I'm not holding anything against you. 😉

I believe you, especially since the fact that they aren't even a moderator isn't exactly helpful info (??)

Let's go over this one more time... Standard users have blue usernames, moderators are black, super-mods (who watch the mods) are red, and admins (who run the whole show) are purple.
Once my name turns blue, you'll know I'm no longer a moderator. These roles aren't set in stone forever. 😉

This whole thread is starting to feel like a grind. It’s hard to find it interesting anymore. 🤷

Awwwwwwww 😍

Awwwwwwww sorry, I honestly had no clue about the color coding—even though I noticed a few people's names changing here and there... And man, it cost me. It caused such a huge mess with my settings being totally wrong, and now I really regret making those mistakes. But hey—it happened, it’s over, and it’s done. And don't go turning blue just yet!

You picked the peak of summer (late July) to go wading in 97-degree heat, so... go ahead, get in the water and enjoy it.

@Richard Howard55: stop complaining. Come over to my place, and we can sit down and vent about how much the government is squeezing us... (Though you might need to keep your head in the ocean to stay sane while doing it...)

Carol Price4 said:Jim is back! Where have you been hiding, 🙂

Cheers to you, Doug! Everyone on here is actually worried about your health—since you're such a hot-headed guy from the South, we keep telling you to stay in the AC so that intense sun doesn't give you a heart attack, 🙂

Go ahead and tease me, but I think you've got some pretty strong connections to the coast and those "beach bums"—so I'm sure you know how it goes. It's got its flaws, sure, but plenty of perks too!!

Liti, look—no matter how much it stung, you’re more important than this. I’m sorry if I kept poking at you; I know there wasn't any room for it (and hey, we've known each other long enough that I wouldn't bother if I didn't respect you!). My reaction mostly came from feeling like the judge had indicted me, and then you stepped in to carry out the sentence. I truly believe that wasn't your intention, though—it’s just interesting to wonder if someone else would get hit with similar negativity for making an uncomfortable post—like one claiming everyone is basically a thief. To me, it felt like a direct shot at both myself and all of us trying to play by the rules.

So, instead of getting angry and jumping ship to some other site, I’m choosing to stay. One bad episode shouldn't wipe out years of good history, right? Give my best to the supervisor who reached out—I'd be happy to hash things out with them—but hopefully, we're still good, just like always?

Doug was already talking about this here and was pretty hyped about it.
It always cracks me up how you manage to breeze right past the most important details,🤣 ...

Look, you know I’m still trying to wrap my head around all this stuff—since I'm working with less than $300 in federal assistance, I've got to tinker with things a bit just to get by... and then there are those little technicalities Vlad describes, like when a "membership gets wiped." I feel lucky that I can just pop on here one day and figure it out, but what happens to people who don't even have access to an online forum or a financial advisor?!?

Still, I’m going to run the numbers for my own sake, and once I have them, I'll share them so everyone can celebrate. I'm doing it ON PURPOSE, because this year feels just as rough as last year—you just have to survive it somehow. Or maybe I'll just keep tinkering away like I do, since that's really my only outlet—at least until some grumpy officer from the local police department shows up and asks, "What are you still messing around with, you shameless kid?!"

silverbadger said:The thing is, you aren't actually required to submit it, though you certainly can if you want to. Usually, it’s only the folks applying for bank loans who end up needing that Podcasting documentation.

That sounds great in theory, but... is there actually anything in writing? I mean, does it explicitly state there won't be any penalties or issues if I don't? If the IRS releases a new version of Podcasting on their official site, they usually have a reason for doing that. It’s not like it’s a huge hassle to get it from Silicon Valley—assuming it's even good enough, anyway. What do the pros think? At the end of the day, I just want to use it to get a clearer picture of the market trends, even though there isn't much to see besides the fact that Canada hasn't completely collapsed yet. But man, things are definitely starting to shift.

ruggedcyclist74 said:For us lucky souls, the requirement to submit those quarterly statistical reports was actually scrapped last year, 😁

Besides that, if you're still aiming to have your stats ready by June 20th, you're already way, way behind schedule... :P

Wait, NO statistics??? Then why does the IRS website still have a new version of the form posted that explicitly mentions Podcasting requirements?

Fine, fine—July 20th, my bad. I had a total brain lapse there.

Raymond Martinez10 said:Don't get too comfortable thinking vacation is around the corner—new tasks are hitting our desks next week. We don't have any official stats yet, but the FBI is going to send over some paperwork for us to start filling in the data gaps.😂

It’s like talking about wolves—whenever something explodes out in the wild, everything comes crashing down right at our doorstep! Seriously, man... what a mess.

And please, tell me—and feel free to correct me if I'm totally off base here—what exactly does it mean when you say THERE ARE NO STATS??? Am I living under a different rock? Because I'm sitting here over-preparing everything just to make sure my numbers look good by June 20th!

Henry Edwards33 said:I’m just not ready to head out on vacation yet. 🙂
I’ll get all these forms squared away first, and then I can finally sit back and prepare to go head-to-head with the IRS once the new tax changes kick in this July. Luckily, I'm running about a month behind the rest of the country, so I might actually have some breathing room. 😍

Man, that guy never sleeps. 😲
I usually end up passing out around midnight. Every single night.

It’s not like that; I just enjoy it. Honestly, I have a soft spot for those endless, circular stories that just go around and around in circles forever. 😵

Hey Jack Carter88, I'll pass you a greeting too, but honestly, it’s way too late for coffee now...🙂 🤣

🙂

Just got back from my workout, and honestly, I’m beat. I'm heading straight for the shower, then rewarding myself with a cold beer.
Fake it till you make it, I guess. Just grin and bear it. 🤣

I honestly don't even know how to respond to this... Who actually knows what she's getting at here?? 😍

🙂

Carol Price4 said:Jessica Grant56, do you even sleep?😁

I see you posting in the middle of the night, at the crack of dawn, all afternoon—the only time you’re ever missing is right before evening, so just admit it, that's when you're crashing, 😁

Richard Howard55 and I are total night owls, Henry Edwards33 is strictly a daytime person, and ruggedcyclist74 bounces between late nights and early mornings, but man, you've totally outdone us all...🤣

The only time you won't find me is in the morning—but that’s a habit I picked up about 40 years ago back when I was working as a DJ... (yeah, I know, I'm getting nostalgic there...) Plus, my other job can really only be done after hours, so once again, we're talking night shifts. But more importantly: when I started this whole grueling journey through mechanical engineering, electronics, and IT about 19 years ago—without having the slightest clue what I was getting myself into—I had to work through the night just to get some peace and quiet. I needed total silence to engage every single brain cell just to wrap my head around this stuff you guys do. See, in almost everything else I do, a millimeter is a millimeter, a volt is a volt, and a kilowatt is a kilowatt... but in accounting? Well, things are a bit "flexible"—you can do it this way, or maybe that way, or maybe it doesn't even matter... Once I finally figured that out, I became a complete night owl. And I stayed that way. Because once you shift your internal rhythm, it's incredibly hard to go back—it could easily happen to any of you, really. Sometimes, your mental capacity just doesn't hit its peak until much later in the day. So, just a word of warning: watch yourselves, ladies.

Maybe try focusing on the pretty ladies instead. Life gets a whole lot easier that way. 😉

Don't get worked up; it'll just give you wrinkles. 🙂

Seriously, just go on vacation already—get out of here! Though, honestly, it’s pretty overcast where I am right now... might even rain.
