Hey everyone, I'm on the hunt for this specific CD featuring American Christmas songs:

If anyone out there is looking to part with a copy, please let me know!

I go to the homepage like usual, click on a video, and then... nothing. Just a blank white screen where the player should be.

Anyone have any clue what's going on?

edit: Never mind, it's working now! Problem solved, you guys can ignore this.
How to set up an admin user in IT Support ·
Alright, here's the deal. I’m currently running three different user accounts on my Windows machine. Let's call them Mike, Steve, and Vincent. From what I can tell, Vincent is set up as the admin, but he's being a total nightmare—he keeps lagging out constantly whenever I try to transfer or process any data.
For instance, I tried installing PES on Steve's account just to see if it would work, but it blocked me because Steve doesn't have admin rights. Meanwhile, trying to do anything on Vincent's account is just a massive lag fest...
I really want to switch Steve over to an admin account. How do I make that happen?

So, how do I actually shut down those annoying pop-ups that just won't stop jumping out at me?

driftingbadger17 said:Why is it shutting down? You got a virus?

No, it’s not that. It’s just those automatic power settings. I knew how to fix it before, but now I’ve completely blanked on where the setting is hidden.
Basically, if I walk away from my computer for a few dozen minutes without touching anything, it goes straight into sleep mode. It drives me crazy. I really just want to set it so it stays awake for at least a few hours.

So, here’s the deal... my computer keeps shutting down on me every few dozen minutes. Where should I go to get this fixed?
Who's the head admin here? in Forum Help! ·
So, look, I get that every subreddit has its own set of mods and all that... but is there actually someone calling the shots at the top? Is it just Anderson, or is there someone else running the show?
Most high schoolers are actually decent kids—smart, driven, and raised with solid values. But then you have that certain minority. You know the type: they got in through connections or came from those sketchy middle schools where teachers hand out A's like candy. And wouldn't you know it? They struggle the entire time. In my class, half of those "legacy" kids washed out by sophomore or junior year. As for the ones who actually managed to stick around, they usually just scraped by with maybe two or three failed tests under their belts.
The other kids admitted with questionable credentials were a bit more self-aware. They’d pick up one failed exam here or there, or maybe two, but some really went out of their way to coast through with nothing better than a C.
That’s the small group I’m talking about—mostly the kids of arrogant, overachieving parents who end up ruining the reputation of the whole school. Without them, I think high school would actually deserve the kind of respect the original poster is hinting at (look, high schoolers aren't perfect, but the idea of polite, well-educated young people holds water).
We also had a specific mess in my class because one student's mother was a super influential teacher at the school. She basically tailored the classroom dynamic to suit her kid, which eventually turned into total chaos. For nearly four years, our class held the undignified title of being the worst in the entire school. Between the kids who shouldn't have been there and the weird power dynamics, the intellectual atmosphere was basically non-existent. It felt less like an honors track and more like some mediocre night school.

It’s pretty funny how fast everyone stopped talking about "meat pies" the second they were asked if eating them was gay. Maybe the issue isn't just about "unrequited manners" after all. 🤷

honey, are you gay?

everything's pointing that way (and I just know the crowd's gonna start dogpiling me with comments now).

you're basically an elitist—kind of acting like some young prep school kid. You're too good for finger foods, I guess, because heaven forbid you get a little grease on your hands. You spend all your time listening to "classics"—honestly, I don't know a single straight guy who listens to classical music. And you look down on people on the street like they're uneducated primitives, for no real reason—like, maybe someone didn't move out of your way fast enough.

Burek, are you gay? Come on, let's see if our resident internet psychics actually got it right.😁

I run into this exact same issue pretty regularly. I’ll probably dive into the details in a future post once I have a second.
All I'll say for now is that I'm right there with Google on this one—with cultured people, it's all about class, but with idiots? It's just pure stupidity masked by a thin layer of politeness, all in a desperate attempt to show you they aren't actually on your level.
I can't believe "Nikom" anymore... in Psychology & Therapy ·
I used to be such an idealist back in the day. I’d actually hand out $6.75 to Gypsies on the street, but that all changed after I caught a few of those so-called "beggars" pulling fast ones on people. 🤣 Just remember that one guy pretending to be broke while driving a Mercedes-Benz. Since then, I steer clear of them entirely. The only exception is if I see someone truly struggling, like a guy with no legs over on Fifth Avenue. Only then might I make an exception.

A while back, I lent a buddy of mine $200 some cash for a piece of tech equipment. He promised me he’d have it back within a month, tops. Needless to say, six years later, he finally paid me back half of what he owed—and that only happened at the end of last year. ☕
I don't think he's a bad person, per se, but man, he is incredibly flaky, lazy, and just generally careless.
You really have to steer clear of people like that. But honestly, I’ve been a "nice guy" since kindergarten, so here we are...

About two or three weeks ago, I had this nasty run-in here on the forum with some guy—basically an idiot, long story short. It wasn't even my fault. And I just thought to myself—karma's coming for you. 😈 A few days later, he posts in a thread about how a hundred people slammed into glass doors thinking they were automatic. 😁

The first thing that happened after watching that movie (got it on a DVD, snagged it for free😁) was on the day of my mother's wedding. I had to take a bus from my place in Washington, D.C., and following my usual pattern, I was running late. 🙄 But this time, I was seriously, freaking late...🤦 Usually, it takes me about 35 to 40 minutes to get from my front door to the Greyhound station. This time, it took me exactly 20 minutes, and I actually showed up 5 minutes early enough to grab a ticket at the window—anyone who uses the bus knows they stop selling tickets at the counters five minutes before departure.
The thing was, everything timed out so perfectly that it ended up being the very last bus I could take to make the wedding. Otherwise, I wouldn't have needed to travel home at all.

What else... what else...? Oh, I remember the film Mona Lisa smile and then a week later, it was playing on TV...😁

One slightly more serious thing... For the last five and a half years, I’ve been living in Washington, D.C., for college, intending to stay; but a few months ago, I found out things that forced me to move back home... To put it bluntly, home is a total hellscape (between a terrible family—aside from the one person I moved back for—disgusting neighbors, that awful local mentality, constant harassment...). As soon as I knew I had to go back, I promised myself I'd move back to Washington, D.C., by the fall.
The result—home is still a nightmare, but starting next month, I'm looking for an apartment in Washington, D.C. 😍

That's wild. You know, just recently I wished I could see 'Notting Hill' on TV—you know, the one with Julia Roberts and that British guy—and a day or two later, there it was on a new channel. 😁
If I think of any other experiences, I'll share them in future posts...🙂

How is everyone acting so incredibly quiet on this thread? 🤦

It’s probably because they're all too insecure to even admit they want something, let alone actually put in the work to get it. ☕
