It’s almost like victims of bullying and abuse are somehow to blame just because it gets to them.

Of course, but we aren't talking about the parents of the people being mocked—we're talking about their parents. There will always be fools and lowlifes who vent their frustrations through mockery, smear campaigns, or outright aggression. That is a massive failure on the part of those pathetic individuals' parents. Otherwise, I am in complete agreement with Lawrence Torres56...
Anyone still running Windows 7? in Software ·
I'm wondering if it's possible to boot a PC via a USB port, assuming the BIOS supports it. I'd have Windows 7 installed on the HDD. My current machine is running Windows 8, but I need to run some older software that just won't work on 8, so this would be a fix... I've considered adding another partition and installing Windows 7 there to set up a dual boot, but I'm specifically interested in that first option—is it actually doable? I heard somewhere that booting via USB might only be an option if you're using version 8.
Prepaid electricity vouchers in Close to Politics ·

wrapped up real pretty, isn't it?😁

Consumption should be determined by simply paying a set amount upfront. It's just like a cell phone plan. If you don't pay, you don't get service. Some people will prefer this method of electricity usage and billing, while others won't. Everyone would choose the most cost-effective option based on their own needs.

I can already see where this is heading—utility rates are going to skyrocket by at least 100% once they implement this "revised billing structure" nonsense and other similar bureaucratic garbage.
Essentially, we’ll all just be paying a premium for even less power than we have now.

The rate won't go up—the electricity will! Rates fluctuate, they aren't "expensive" or "cheap." The core of this system is that you "use what you pre-paid" via voucher. Almost every news outlet is reporting that you pay for what you consume. That's what I have now. So, consumption plus a flat fee equals the bill. With these new meters, you prepay, and the meter runs until the credit is gone. The kWh will definitely be pricier since they’ll bake the flat fee right into the price. Some people might benefit, but looking at the news, most Americans don't even understand how this works. Everyone thinks they're just paying for usage, but the reality is quite different: you're limited to whatever amount you've already put down.

Still happening? It's been opening fine for me since 7 PM without any of those warnings I was seeing the last two days...

I don't think you would have seen anything like this even during the Stalinist era. As far as I am aware, police officers are generally expected to wear hats and carry badges.

Even a "cop" would have something to say about this!☕

I use Windows Media Center for my connection and digital tracking. I'm wondering where exactly this program saves recorded material and what file format it uses. Is the footage playable on other media players (like if I move it to a flash drive to watch elsewhere), or if not, is there a way to convert the recordings into a more compatible format? Currently, everything I record works fine within Media Center itself.🤷

Noah Sanchez39 said:1) Try typing "windows," "media," or "center" into the Start menu search box until the WMC link shows up. Once you launch the app, just pin this application to the Taskbar. You don't even need a shortcut on your desktop if it's right there in the Taskbar for one-click access.

2) That works. For more info on how to "Keep always on top," read here

I use Windows Media Center to watch TV, so I was wondering how to pull a shortcut onto my Desktop to keep it "handy"!😁 The alternative is clicking Start / All Programs / Windows Media Center every single time. That isn't exactly difficult, but having a shortcut would be easier. One more thing: is there a way to set Media Center so it stays on top of all other windows? Thanks!🙏

Is there a way to set up an automatic reload for an open page in Google Chrome, or am I stuck doing it manually every single time? I usually have about five or six tabs open at once, so it would be a huge help if the browser could just refresh the content on those specific tabs at set intervals...
Doctors' strike in Health ·
Everyone seems to forget that doctors are just one piece of the puzzle. They rely on nurses, technicians, and all the support staff who keep the entire system running. Without them, nothing gets done. Yet, the conversation always centers on physician salaries. We really ought to see a breakdown of what everyone else in the hierarchy is actually making. No one ever complains about the rest of the staff, but they should. It would be quite something to see if the rest of the workforce went on strike—let’s see those "all-powerful" doctors try to handle the "unimportant" tasks themselves...
